I hate to say this but name calling is not something you should condone either. she threw a fit and is now paying the price. i read she could get several years of imprisonment. Maybe she could use those time to think of her action next time she would chose words more carefully.

If only something like this could happen to Donald Trump he has been throwing a fit allot and insulting people he should really need to cool off in prison.

btw after seeing the new wife picture i found it more insulting to the horse then to the woman i think the horse looked much better.

I'm glad you don't get to make any laws in my country. Glad the first amendment ensures rules like that can't be put in place here. The idea that a person could be legally prosecuted, much less thrown in a cage, for merely insulting someone they were in a dispute with the wrong way makes my skin crawl.

maybe but look at it like this, the people you are defending are why war every excist.. war did not erupt because people wanted to fight it started, when people did not know when to shut up that is when it started.

btw your wrong, as can you see more and laws are being directed everywhere and it is only partly there already people being prosecuted for posting stuff on instagram or facebook even twitter. Me too movement etc..  it only a matter of time before you cant even say anything before they can take you down already.

how does that change the outcome? 4 voters, 2 vote for a, 1 for b, and 1 doesnt vote, result, a gets 2/3 votes and b 1/3, a is biggest so has the most say. Or a gets 2/4 votes, b 1/4, again a is biggest and has most say.

Actually it is easy, more and more people are not even voting anymore that is actually the worst thing you can do if you can vote go vote even if you dont chose any party chose the blank one because if you dont the one with most votes will get the vote of people that did not go to vote. so inderectly you are actually helping those that you did not want to help at all and if they dont get the vote it will be dismissed you can't win election if most people just voted blank. you need about 60 % of the total vote to make it election legal if the percentage is lower then 60 then that election is forfeited and no one won. So you can then interepet that that the people no longer want of those parties ruling the country.

That would be devestaing blow to those politicians since they cant do there job anymore they lied to the people for to long and this is the consequence for their deceit.

As far as I know no one in my country has been prosecuted by the government for being a prick on social media. They've got kicked off social media platforms, but the feds didn't step in and give them fines/jailtime/etc. And I'd like it to stay that way.

As for your first statement I disagree. Wars don't start because some idiot loudmouth was talking trash: wars start when an even bigger idiot with even less self control decides to strike the first physical blow.

take that to a bar or out out door in the street and start trash talking anyone around you and see how quickly that escalates. in major fights. it is only time till the first through the first punch after a trash talk that it fully escales out here on a forum you even see how quickly moderator start blocking the post because trash talk started to get out of hand.

that is also why forums has rules like no attack on fellow forum members because of this very thing.

btw this derailing the topic a bit. This topic is about about UK law for porn passes and tax.

In the UK? I always thought the UK had a pretty liberal attitude towards sex and porn. God forbid that kids ever see people fucking! But authorities don't seem to mind much all the blood and violence kids are watching in a movie or seeing in a video game. This is bullshit and has much less to do with "protecting" minors and much more to do with trying to find ways to both milk another "luxury" tax or keep tabs on who watches porn. "Do you have your id # citizen?" asks the cold, soulless machine.

I've long wondered about the different States' attitudes toward sex vs violence.  Here in the U.S., violence is A-OK! while sexual repression is - at least per the State - the norm.  And then we have a tremendous amount of violence in our culture.  It's mind boggling.

As for the whole 'allow your personal information to be stored, or be taxed to be allowed to watch porn', it's just the Nanny State, as usual.

That's exactly how extremist politics works. Say something "offensive"? Hate speech. Disagree with their dogma? Hate speech. I mean for fuck's sake how long has this shit been going on? Look at any place that practices this kind of moronic system, each one of them turn into shitholes. UK is falling apart, matter of fact every country under express EU rule is falling apart except for Poland and hungary and some other east European countries maybe. France is almost gone, Canada is on a huge nosedive, Germany is literally licking the fucking ground and Belgium is just Pakistan with cleaner streets at this point. Fucking, Molenbeek and shit.

You'd think with all this one would realise that tone/thought policing is what starts all this shitshow every fucking time, Every. Fucking. Time. But naw, lets disregard a citizen's freedom of speech because they were being mean. Fucking grade school shit. No wonder the Honkler makes more and more sense every day. What's next? Throw people in cages for looking at you funny? Or arrest them for being creepy? Oh wait, that already happens, to men specifically. Lmao you can't even wear a fucking hat with something specific written on it. Goddamn this world! Fuck it, fuck this shit, fuck it all! lmao

You may not like the solution much more. It doesn't really matter what anyone thinks because it will happen anyway- the backlash I mean. Resentment builds in citizens over time at unjust and unfair treatment by their rulers until they decide to act or rebel. The modus operandi practiced by governments now is a type of subterfuge to slowly further their goals of absolute control without too many citizens taking notice. This as opposed to past ruling classes and parties that demanded immediate and unquestioning obedience through a "divine right to rule" or other. The reason we don't see protests and riots is because the ruling class have learned not to push too much at once. Small steps instead of leaps, so that by the time most people notice the collar around their neck, it is much too late. ;)

No full-scale war in the history of humankind has ever starter because of simple anger. It is always over resources, be they precious minerals, food, water or human resources. That includes World War 2. Germany was hurting for all but one so they started campaigns to acquire more.

Even the Final Solution was all about determining who gets to make use of the remaining resources as Germany's fortunes took an even steeper turn for the worse near what became the end of the war.

Every genocide is about eliminating competition for resources permanently. All propaganda supporting it serves an nothing more than a justification for it which makes it sound more noble than it actually is, killing for profit on an industrial scale.

At best one gets hooliganism from one group loosing their cool with another.

Banning porn will likely result in a whole lot of hooliganism resulting from a bunch of pent-up would be wankers needing to beat something other than their meat around to take out their frustrations.

There's a "framework" for it in Canada and california, you "could" face fines or jail if you don't use someone's "prefered" pro-nouns when addressing them.

Well for me, someone whom I had been referring as a "Him" for a good amount of time, suddenly coming to me as a "Her", and then demanding to refer "Him" as "Her" from now on will definitely need some time to adjust to just as time needed for the "Him" to be the new "Her".

And the truly scary thing is that our politicians seem to truly believe that they are passing these laws in our best interest.  I'd wager that the vast majority of them don't walk around all day saying "What can we do to steal freedoms from people today?"  They really believe that the collar they put around ALL our necks, including their own and their future children's necks, are for the greater good because "they know what's good for us."

Makes you wonder who is really pulling the strings, huh? I'm a conspiracy theorist at heart, mainly because I've never seen much evidence to the contrary- at least not for those in positions of power and influence.

How can a piss-up be shit? Mother Theresa would organise a vote on the piss-up at which point half her own party would go T-total and the Daily Mail  . . . well , fuck the Daily Mail.

As far as the OP goes I wouldn't believe anything in the Sun.

I'm surprised anyone from outside the UK would think of us as having a liberal attitude towards sex actually. There's a well-known phrase over here where we mock our own culture for being prudish: "No sex please, we're British!"

The hypocrisy of not batting an eyelid at blood and violence but drawing the line at sex has always staggered me, and that seems to be a worldwide issue. Blood, guts, violence, swearing... no problem. A normal, healthy, essential part of life without which none of us would even exist? Oh good heavens, think of the children!

That's actually different in germany. Not that we're exaggerated liberal on sex imho (although it's far bettter than in the UK/US), but here violence is still deemed worse. Which has it's own flaws, i think the most ridiculous thing that happened so far was that C&C had to make a censored version for germany. The blood of the little pixels called soldiers in C&C 1 couldn't have red blood, that would be "appretiating violence against humans". So they made it green.

Also counts for TV so far that most action movies etc can't be show before 20 o'clock, and some even later. Can't remember where exactly the line goes, i think thrillers with a dead body but without violence are ok at 20 o'clock, with violence after 22 o'clock. No idea how that works now with Netflix etc, i guess they assume that childs watching it have at least the consent of an adult.

Just out of curiosity since I thank god don't live in that dystopic hellhole that is UK, are people actually buying the passes?

Please, I must know.

I live in uk and today is the first time I even heard of them, so I would imagine that is a no.

Hmm, I think this will just give way to underground/secret, porn sharing groups/sites, that will remain unregulated, and untouched by the government. Even if they were to outright ban porn, guys could still wank off to women's underwear catalogs, personally taken upskirt shots, down blouse shots, creepshot pics, and such. A lot of people foolishly post nudes of themselves online sometimes as well. No one is going to stop horny perverts from finding or creating materials to wank off to, no matter how much they try.  These corrupt power hungry governments, always use the "for muh chirrens" excuse to censor things, instead of parents being parents.

I live in the UK and the only place I have heard of these passes is here on LL.

Why is the UK a 'dytopic hellhole', pray tell? And in which enlightened utopia do you reside, may one ask?

And what if the impetus for restricting accessibility to porn is coming from the parents?

If parents are restricting access to porn for their children, than it's perfectly fine. That's how it's supposed to be in the first place. Adults, should not be restricted by the government, using other peoples children as an excuse though. The government needs to stop trying to act like they are some children's parents, and let the actual parents do their job.

What I gather, the bill was introduced late last year, it gained signifigant momentum early -19 and for a good while there was this big-ish speculation phase "sure UK gov can't be this obsessed" on various bulleting boards. Alas, sadly the bill passed couple of months ago already but I'm not up do date when will it go into enforcing.

I am honestly quite surprised you haven't heard of it earlier, no sarcasm.
