The chance is set in Player Options.  You set a health threshold for auto-surrender and a chance to surrender once you hit that threshold.  By default the chance is 100%.

 

If you are using another mod that allows auto surrender (CAP, RSE II CSA, Deviously Cursed Wasteland, MCG, etc) you should only enable auto surrender in one mod.  Otherwise they might both kick in and cause all kinds of problems.

That dialogue is not from this mod.  You are probably auto-surrendering via CAP or some other mod.  See above.

Correct, if you see SceneInit Status [4] that means missing animation.  You can see the exact error in the AAF admin console.  There is a list of recommended animation packs in the FAQ section on the mod's front page.

I don't know how that would happen.  If you are still controlled by Violate you won't be able to use the Tab key.  It sounds like you may be held in place by another mod.  Again, make sure Violate is the only mod you are surrendering with.

That does appear to be the case with CAP. Looks like when it activates you get a bit of dialogue and can be kidnapped as one of its options, but with its surrender on the Real Handcuff thing locks the player solid and you can't move or do anything but get that lockpicking thing. I did lockpick it once to see if freeing myself from the cuffs worked, but the character was still locked up tight.

You need to install the Data folder from the F4SE archive.

is there a way to change what aaf excludes when searching for an animation? 2/3 times it tries, it comes up with error 4 but I have most of your recommended animation packs from the faq installed. these aren't the only tags it will exclude, but it's the only screenshot I have.

The error says it couldn't find any MMF animations tagged as Aggressive and which don't have those other tags.  I don't believe there are any MMF animations out there that have those excluded tags, so that is not the problem.

 

If you have SavageCabbage's pack and AAF Themes installed, you should have plenty of MMF animations tagged as Aggressive.  You need to make sure you have the latest versions of those two mods, and that no patches are removing the tags.

When violate tries to run a gangbang scene the npc's move in, the screen fades to black, when it comes back I get a popup message that says something like "so-and-so was raped hard with help from some other gang member.

No scene plays. Not sure if its a problem I'm having with this mod or some other.  Everything was working fine until I updated a few days ago, and started a new game

Do you have any supporting animations installed?

Yeah I pretty sure I have al the recommended animation packs installed. I'll try reinstalling them.

Not sure what you mean about lining up animations, but the option to enable the AAF wizard during animations is on the Global Options page in the MCM.

Do you mean the two or more people aren't in the correct positions? Yeah, that definitely happens occasionally. I know Ego Ballistic replied how to get the wizard open, and I'm guessing you know you can switch to a different animation and back again at that point. Works nicely if the characters aren't moving at all too.

I think I saw an option in the menu about requiring an Aggressive tag for this mod. I'll look again, but if it is there and I turn it off any and all types of animations might play?

That option existed in old versions of the mod, but no longer.  You have to have your tags set up properly using Themes for this mod to work right.

On the topic of just basic AAF, do you think the author will move towards a more robust AAF that sees it can't play a particular animation/tag/whatever, and keeps picking until it can?

You can set Player Can Be Violated to False in the MCM and you won't be raped but your companions will.  There isn't any kind of autonomy feature where NPCs rape each other in combat though.

I play as a male but when ever I initiate sex with a female there is no female sounds. I can hear the female sounds in other mods like AAF Maddness but not in this one

Do i need to update to the latest AAF (the one that was released a few weeks ago) to be able to update your mod? I have the one before the latest release. Do I also need to update to the latest AAF themes first?

Hi, I went in to DB Technical and ended up losing to Bosco but I got a failure to play the Violate scene, of course I have forgotten the exact wording but I did go back and got captured on purpose and all worked as usual until it came around to Bosco again. Third time, same result. Every time I would wait through the aggro cooldown as if the scene had played then they go violent on me. Violate is working in every other circumstance, I just thought this was weird enough to mention, thanks.

The AAF admin screen can tell you the error code. If that code is 4, it means AAF could not find a suitable set of animations for the NPCs involved - usually gangbang problems is what I experience. Try turning off Female Raiders temporarily in there to test.

 

Sadly AAF itself doesn't somehow see the error code it throws because if it did it might be nice for it to find some other animation set to use instead rather than just quitting. Just keep looking until it can find one it will use, basically, even if it is a 1:1 animation with 20 NPCs standing around waiting their turn.

Strange.  There isn't anything special about Bosco that should prevent him from playing AAF animations.  However, he is a quest NPC.  If you are using version 1.40 or 1.41 of AAF Violate, you should update to the latest, as there is a bug in those versions that prevents quest NPCs from being surrendered to or participating in violations.

 

If that isn't the problem then I would need to see what the error message was.

That's not really AAF's responsibility though.  The OnSceneInit Status [4] tells the calling mod that AAF couldn't find an animation that suits the actors and tags, and it is up to the calling mod (Violate in this case) to handle it.  AAF can't possibly know what the mod author intended, so it doesn't make sense for AAF to try and play an animation with fewer actors, or different tags, etc.  That might very well make things worse. 

 

Ultimately, it is up to the calling mod to decide what to do in case an animation call fails.  In Violate's case, if an animation involving a companion fails, it simply acts as if the animation had played and ended normally.  So, depending on number of actors, MCM settings, etc, the actors may get another chance to be in an animation.  But, for animations on the player, I made the decision to report the error and end the scene.  Violate's MCM gives the player a lot of control over the race, gender, and number of actors in animations, and the default settings work for any setup with the common animation packs that include M/F aggressive animations.  If the player decides to change the MCM settings, it's their responsibility to ensure they have animation packs to match.

Started playing Fallout 4 again recently after nearly 3 years (don't think I'll get back into modding though, too busy with my own game) and glad to see Violate, Family Planning, Vanilla Fudge and Animated Fannies having all been adopted and further expanded by you and other talented modders for this new AAF system. Tried Violate and it works perfectly. Great job!

Im trying to surrender, but after surrendering thist is only a short bit of dialogue, and then my player and the npc just stand still staring at eachother, and nothing else happens... any way to fix?
