Talking in the chat room, admin says "I think it's been long enough", and bam. No rules broken, no nothing. So, expect an LL exclusive Dwemer mod that will add a massive, living, breathing Dwemer city to Skyrim! Nixea Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 While I agree that the moderation at the nexus is absolutely nuts, I find it pretty easy not to get banned. I joined back in 2010 and never once had any kind of issue. The key is to pretend that the nexus is actually a Disney cartoon, and you're a character in there. So when you voice something unpleasant, you're breaking the simulated reality of said cartoon, which is why you get banned.

Download what you like, endorse if you like, say thank you or something, and leave. Don't get involved in all the personal stuff or negative stuff, just do what you gotta do and get out. Simplest way to avoid a ban. I've been on the Nexus since May '09, and I have never had any issues at all. Simply because I keep to myself and don't get involved in all the drama.
Nixea Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Sometimes it can be necessary to get involved, such as when you're having issues with a certain mod, or maybe you have questions that don't seem to be answered in any FAQ, or basically any technical doubts. But yes, I think not getting personal and statying the hell away from drama are the keys to not having any issues.

No offense but that's BULLSHIT. The first mod I uploaded to Nexus (it was TESSource back then) was the Kendo Girl for Oblivion. Within an hour of the upload the trolling started and I responded like I always do (clown the clowns and they'll shut up). Shortly after that LHammonds threatened to ban me, not for fighting with trolls but for uploading content I didn't author. He accused me IN THE OPEN FORUM of being a thief. Then Dark0ne's bitch-ass got involved and threatened me with LEGAL ACTION. (He was 15 fucking years old at the time). They trundled out their Nexus Law Degrees, etc. I guess they were too stupid to read the ReadMe, or download the mod to see what was in it OR look at the credits on the upload page. Everything I didn't make in that mod was a resource and I credited the original authors. Needless to say those two just shut the fuck up after I pointed all of that out IN THE OPEN FORUM; and I wasn't nice about it. They wanted to humiliate me, so I humiliated them. Note this was before 'Kendo 2' was the reviled arch villain of modding. I was regular member uploading my first mod and they did that to me. After all that was said and done I never got an apology from either one of those fucking idiots. They just stopped posting and after TESSource was redone as Nexus those posts (about two pages worth) vanished from the mod thread along with about 200 endorsements. That was enough to knock the mod off of the Top Download list. Yeah, so FUCK NEXUS and their 'code of behavior'. Micalov bans people because he feels like it. There is proof of that in this thread. Dark0ne is a condescending little twat and there is proof of that in this thread too. Just post something he doesn't agree with and see what his reaction is. Myrmaad and Linspuppy can't do shit in a debate there because they're so fucking stupid and they have to resort to yellow text just to 'win' by closing a thread they can't dominate...but they do get the last word. \o/ That's their code of conduct. Let anyone else try that shit and they go ape and start swinging the ban hammer. So I guess you're right. Don't say anything and you'll be alright. Luckily that shit doesn't fly at LL, or at least it didn't. The 'if you don't like it, keep quiet' mentality is a two way street. If someone doesn't like a mod, then don't comment or download it. Fair enough. If someone doesn't like what other people post HERE then that rule also applies. I don't adhere to that and that's why I'm banned at Nexus. People are free to express their opinions here (within reason) and if that changes then we are one lock-kneed goose step closer to being like Nexus.

My thoughts were more from a player's perspective, not a modders. I've only made one (public) mod, and it's here, not on the Nexus, so I have no idea how they handle that sort of stuff. But I get what you're saying. It was your mod, you should speak up when the "shit hits the fan". And what they did was jacked up in return. I'm not saying the Nexus is innocent or anything, don't get me wrong. Just saying, as a player, to avoid a ban, just avoid the drama. Sure if you find a bug or have an issue, post about it to let the author know. Maybe solve it, but be polite about it and stick to just the issue at hand. But otherwise, just download what you want and get out of there. But as an author, I don't blame you for defending your work. I would expect nothing less.
