Chaos63 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Why are there so many recolored vanilla armors on the nexus? Searching through the clothes and armors categories is difficult with so many of them clogging it up. Is there perhaps some kind of advanced search trick to circumvent this?
Kendo 2 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Agree, but playing as a sneaky archer is so ridicolously overpowered, potentialy followers are pretty much just walking wheelbarrows to carry the loot anyways. Expert level Destruction magic with the augmented perks is 90+ points of damage. Expert level archer with the best arrows and the best tempered bow available does 121+ points of damage...and that's when I stand up so they can see me and they charge like the soon-to-be-pin-cushion-dumb asses they are. If I'm sneaking; one arrow, maybe two will kill them. And I don't have to wait for arrows to recharge like Magicka does. As long as I have arrows, what I'm attacking dies. The best is a sneak attack on air-borne dragons with the right perks and the bow poisoned with frostbite spider venom. They will lock up in mid air and I can get another three arrows into them before they 'unfreeze'. Their health bar will plummet. Playing a battle mage like I am now, I'd have to fucking hide (since 90 points of spell damage does jack shit to a dragon) and HOPE my follower Jenassa doesn't get a wild hair and run out into the open so the fucking dragon will come to us, instead of just flying away. Playing a steathly warrior archer, I don't need a follower. They are in the fucking way. Playing a battle mage, I can't survive an epic battle without one. Note on being an Archer and the dirty deed to level up: West of Whiterun there is a giant camp. West of that there is a bridge. Get the shittiest bow you can and some iron arrows and shoot a mammoth at that camp and RUN to the bridge and get underneath one of the lower sections. The giants and mammoths cannot reach you and you can simply stand there and pump arrow after arrow into them. As long as you stay under the bridge the giants will not power attack and the mammoths can't. That is also a great place to fill soul gems, since giants have greater souls and mammoths have grands. I'm beginning to wonder why I opted for a battle mage this play through. Why are there so many recolored vanilla armors on the nexus? The last time I bothered with Nexus and it's lame-ass search it wouldn't even recognize the correctly styled name of a mod. I mean, I found the mod I was looking for and copy/pasted it into the search window. I got 'no results found' even though I was looking at the damn mod in another window.

IKR Discworld is probably a few thousand all told even for alpha and I can't wait to see how fast it gets buried in a few weeks

Even better, if you manage to sneak up on a resting Dragon (and Muffle+the VARIOUS Invisibility Spells and Perks make that easy) and succesfully backstab them, you can do enough Damage (buffed) to make them imediately Crashland. With Broherhood-Gloves and the Backstab-Perk even oneshot the weaker classes. I'm beginning to wonder why I opted for a battle mage this play through. Seriously, i tried to play Skyrim in all kinds of ways, but in every playthrough there's a point when i walk into a room full of mobs with my 2H-Berserker or Battlemage and think "Man, my Sneaky Ranger could clean out this room in a minute before they even realize where the barrage of arrows is coming from". It's pretty much forcing myself to play bad only to experience the Warrior- or Mage-Lifestyle. These playthroughs hardly last long. It's like deliberately making a terrible gimped Build in an MMO. It makes me cringe.

Because you have devoted so much time and actual thought into a comprehensive mod, it deserves to buried under a Nerxucks fuck-tard avalanche of followers mods anyone can make, or ENB tweaks that really don't do anything other than recolor what someone else made, or maybe a slew of fake HD retextures. What really needs to happen is shortly after you upload, someone needs to come behind you and upload 27 translation mods all at once so they can hog the first two pages of recent uploads and bump your good mod off of the fucking map...because that is what happens every time someone uploads something worthwhile to Nerxucks. And I'm fucking with you. OOK. *You really need to make the librarian an orange troll and use the Dawnguard anims for the bone club attack and replace the bone with a rolled up scroll. And I want soul gem teeth somewhere on at least one NPC, like the Cohen the Barbarian in 'The Light Fantastic'. I'll retext vanilla teeth for you if you promise to use it.*

I hope he manages to make a few more books before his illness forces him to retire.

Psh I am like the worlds worst scripter but as I did trim carpentry from like the age of 12 I can easily fubar and BS my way around shit and seem good I don't even have my CK set up to read Papyrus the way it is supposed to. That's how much I want to script for Skyrim. Basically I just want to add a book that once read, will give the player a dummy perk to allow crafting the arrows. Buy the book from Calcelmo in Markarth. Adding an item to a vendor is no big deal. Blow dart pygmies can figure that out. They could probably script for what I want too, if they were willing. I'm not. *grabs blow gun and hand full of darts and runs away from Skyrim scripting*

Thanks for the info. And working with perk trees is pretty basic. I added crafting levels to Blacksmithing Steel like the other entry level skill perks. have. Apprentice Steel (skill 20) is vanilla stuff. Adept (skill 30) steel weapons do more damage and weigh less, and so on. It doesn't affect the other smithing types and by the time you can craft Master level (skill 90) steel weapons Eorland Gray-Mane can use that trash he makes as door stops and paper weights.
