It just depends on what you want in your game. If I want to make my grass prettier, than that's what I want. I will pick the prettiest grass mod I can find and then use it. Doesn't matter if someone put one hour or thousands of hours into a mod, if it is something I don't want to see in my game I simply won't use it. Doesn't matter how much time went into a mod because that doesn't mean I suddenly enjoy it. However that doesn't mean I need to be a douche about it. For example, Falskaar is probably the biggest mod atm and a truckload of work went into it.

 

Does that mean Falskaar is a good mod? Does that mean I must enjoy Falskaar more than a mod that took just a few hours? Does that mean I must download, endorse and enjoy Falskaar? No. Do I need to throw a tantrum because there are people that enjoy Falskaar more than I do? That some people obviously enjoy Falskaar more than anything I made or enjoy using? No. Same goes with every other mod.

Oh my God, I watched some of that first video, but stopped because I don't want any more spoilers.  It's like John Waters had a butt baby with Tarantino and their offspring ghost wrote that mod's dialogue while tripping on acid and channeling William Peter Blatty. I am so downloading that. I'm not being sarcastic, either; that shit looks awesome.

 

 

 

 

I forgot I wanted to mention this

THIS is why you shouldn't give two shits when we 'bash' mods. I realize this, any publicity is good publicity and I know my work is quality and there were probably hundreds of d/l from this guys, who clearly has no taste, video

 

I like it whenever anyone links my mods anywhere anytime for any reason, ya 90% of the people who view it who would never see my mod anyway won't d/l it cause of the crap review, but they weren't gonna see it or d/l it anyway and I get 10% of the viewers to d/l and try it and have some fun, so it's 100% win

 

You linking that got me another d/l, probably more than one as I do not actually promote my mods that much and I don't think I've even bumped the threads in months for them. Once again because I make them for me :) I just share cause I'm that cool and clearly not Kendo or I would delete them mwahahahha

 

And yes you do get a award for reading this post

 

EDIT lol walked away for like 15 min and forgot to hit post and come back to all this amg.. omfg im adding special snowflake to myself to now!

HA now I'm more special than kendo!

 

 

Lol, I just realized Dragon Break was your mod.  You sir, are a genius.

You won't be getting any snowflake points on the nexus from me for a while.  Gave up on downloading Dragonbreak there for the day.  3 hours estimated dl time compared to the 35 minutes here.  Mexican internet + Nexus always makes me tear my hair out.  At least, now that I know the mod is hosted here I can get started trying it out tonight.

You missed the point. I simply don't care about your mod - get 1 million downloads and 1 million endorsements - I don't care. Your mod is neither hurting me nor do I want to see your mod fail just because I don't like it. I just posted the video because there are people who don't enjoy your mod (like me) and go on about how such a thing shouldn't exist (unlike me). There are obviously people that enjoy your work, good for them, have all the fun there is, please! If you don't care about negative criticism (which doesn't seem to be the case since you threw a little tantrum and compared yourself to picasso), good for you. But some people do care about people being asshats for the sole reason that their standards and needs aren't met. The question is, why bother? Not everyone wants to waste their time writing wall of texts to defend themselves like we do.

 

You are doing exactly the same thing as the people who drove Vectorplexus away from the nexus, trash talking and insulting people based on what mods they create. I do get the impression that you guys actually don't hate the nexus - you just hate that you aren't in charge.

It's true there's been an increase in criticism of mods in here, or the popularity of certain types of mods like followers, enbs etc (which we have too, I think). People's issue with Nexus staff shouldn't spill over to the modders or users over there. LL modders need to be able to reach out across whatever bulllshit divisions in order to collaborate and get things like permissions sorted. Bad enough this site is 'rife with piracy' and all manner of 'illegal' stuff, or that we have people worrying if it's 'safe' to download from here, we don't need to be in the business of trash-talking other people's work, creating bad blood for the hell of it.

 

 

Let it rest guys. You're just going in circles.

I still am. This was just to make it clear that "me = picasso, you = guy that paints moustaches on paintings" doesn't really apply because the value a mod has is highly subjective, not something that can be measured in any way. I used his words and not mine, I wouldn't call a mod I don't enjoy "a pile of poo". For me, Dragon Break belongs into the very same category like all the other mods I don't use. And that's fine, different tastes for different folks. But I'd never say that my taste is the only one that matters, because it isn't. It matters just for me, not for you or anybody else. It's not a bad mod just because I don't like it. Some people enjoy it and that's fine.

 

What is a "pile of poo" (again, not my words) for you is something others enjoy and vice versa. For him, a simple plant retexture is crap and his mod is good, for me it's the other way around. Who is right? Both of us are because it's a matter of taste and what you actually want in your game. What I criticize is people thinking they are superior in any way and lashing out at others who don't meet their standards.
