It just depends on what you want in your game. If I want to make my grass prettier, than that's what I want. I will pick the prettiest grass mod I can find and then use it. Doesn't matter if someone put one hour or thousands of hours into a mod, if it is something I don't want to see in my game I simply won't use it. Doesn't matter how much time went into a mod because that doesn't mean I suddenly enjoy it. However that doesn't mean I need to be a douche about it. For example, Falskaar is probably the biggest mod atm and a truckload of work went into it.

 

Does that mean Falskaar is a good mod? Does that mean I must enjoy Falskaar more than a mod that took just a few hours? Does that mean I must download, endorse and enjoy Falskaar? No. Do I need to throw a tantrum because there are people that enjoy Falskaar more than I do? That some people obviously enjoy Falskaar more than anything I made or enjoy using? No. Same goes with every other mod.

Oh my God, I watched some of that first video, but stopped because I don't want any more spoilers.  It's like John Waters had a butt baby with Tarantino and their offspring ghost wrote that mod's dialogue while tripping on acid and channeling William Peter Blatty. I am so downloading that. I'm not being sarcastic, either; that shit looks awesome.

I warned people before about taking the things I say seriously and how they shouldn't because everything I say on this thread is basically a joke but whatever.

I'm not bitter about anything in case you're wondering, this is just who I am, and I did say I wouldn't post here anymore so no one gets on my case about it again.

Let me be little snowflake more elitist and daresay I have done 1000 times what any of these stupid consumers have done to help other modders, spending countless hundreds of hours on skype to help some of the more talented ones, thousands of PM's, tutorial videos etc..

Same here.  In the last three weeks alone I've uploaded five mods, provided help with questions I knew the answers to and made two speedy tutorials.  That doesn't include what I've done in PMs.  The people throwing the 'snowflake' bullshit around haven't done a goddamned thing.  I know because I looked. ;)   So either they don't know how to do anything but post their bullshit opinions OR they do know how to do something and they're not contributing.  Whatever the case, they are the snowflakes or elitists.  Snowflakes if all they can do is post their opinions because 'they matter' (NOT) or elitists be cause they can in fact do something for the community and THEY'RE NOT.  Either way, FUCK THEM.  They don't matter.

See, that's the difference - I did a few mods (mostly for Oblivion and one animation for Fallout 3/NV) But I don't mention it all the time and demand special treatment because of it. I don't go on for hours about how special I am because I did some mods and helped others.

That being said though, I found your comparison with painting a moustache very fitting, because that's essentially what modders do. I know it was meant to belittle and make fun of me, but if you look behind it, it's true. No skyrim mod could ever exist without skyrim, just how you can't paint a moustache on the mona lisa without the mona lisa. You always add some pieces to something that already exists. No matter how pretty, big and/or intricate the moustache is you paint on it, without Skyrim, you just couldn't do it.

 

Even big total conversions like Nehrim couldn't have existed without Oblivion. Speaking of which, you don't see those people - their skill and dedication are arguably beyond anything almost anybody ever did - go around and praise themselves as the one and only true modders, hm? Do you see any of the people doing the real big mods here on LL do any of the petty bullshit you tend to celebrate here?

THIS is why you shouldn't give two shits when we 'bash' mods. I realize this, any publicity is good publicity and I know my work is quality and there were probably hundreds of d/l from this guys, who clearly has no taste, video

 

I like it whenever anyone links my mods anywhere anytime for any reason, ya 90% of the people who view it who would never see my mod anyway won't d/l it cause of the crap review, but they weren't gonna see it or d/l it anyway and I get 10% of the viewers to d/l and try it and have some fun, so it's 100% win

 

You linking that got me another d/l, probably more than one as I do not actually promote my mods that much and I don't think I've even bumped the threads in months for them. Once again because I make them for me :) I just share cause I'm that cool and clearly not Kendo or I would delete them mwahahahha

 

And yes you do get a award for reading this post

Go to one of those big conversions, go to skywind and tell them they are just as equal as "FOR TOMMY ONLY" mod, see what reaction you get. I would pray my reaction is tame in comparison, I also think those guys are by far better than me and I would not equate myself with them either. Then again I am clearly not as stupid as others, sorry to dissapoint
