Hm. The whole arousal system is actually set up to do the opposite of this. Actors are always gaining exposure for witnessing sex acts so if you have one engagement in a crowded area it makes another more likely, and eventually actors that were reduced to 0 arousal at the start will be back over the threshold again.

 

Maybe the SLA settings could be adjusted to reduce exposure overall, meaning that you could more easily exhaust them all before the first is back over the threshold.

 

There is a per-actor cooldown in the PC/NPC Auto Settings, but right now this only applies to the NPCs. I'll have a think about applying it to the creatures as well. Only issue there is that we are right up against the MCM option limit for that page, so it might need to be a non-configurable feature.

There is a bug in the trans detection routine in the current release, so the results may be inconsistent.

There are animation registered and AC is able to retrieve four of them. But you'll notice that the selected animations are all flagged as Female NPC + Female Creature : "[M:0,F1,MC:0,FC:1]", whereas the creature itself is flagged as male: "Futanari Flame Atronach (0/2) [FF0018A0] (a:M)". So it's possible that SL is rejecting the selected animations due to sex/gender restrictions.

 

Check if Match Creature Gender is enabled in SexLab > Animation Settings, flip it and see if that helps.

I toggled it off, and it works now ? thank you so much

The dialogue quests sates should not become de-synced, there are lots of features to prevent this. Just opening and closing the MCM should re-sync them. Try toggling the Follower Dialogue option off in the MCM, exit out of the menus entirely, then go back in and enable it again.

 

Beyond that, I would need to see a papyrus log for a session in which the issue was encountered. Preferably one where the Aroused Creatures Debug option is enabled and the AC MCM is opened and closed.

and what would be overriding the Aroused Creatures files? any possible examples? and how do i get a papyrus log?

The common one is OsmelMC Mod Tweaks. But your mod manager should indicate if there are any overrides.

 

Double-check the settings under Dialogue & Interactions to ensure the configuration itself is not blocking dialogue for the selected actors. For example, try allowing Non-Follower NPCs.

 

Instructions for generating and finding Papyrus logs. The Debug option in the Aroused Creatures MCM should tell you if there is an issue with the configuration when trying to enable it.

Hello Mate could you help me to get this working please ? im trying to make Aroused creatures to work in VR i have pretty much everything required , Sex lab works with NPC's like its intented and Defreat as well but nothing works with creatures even matchmaking spell (NPC undressed and teleports to creature and just idle) Aroused creatures MCM says "SexLab creatures fail" i have tried to Clean sexlab ,animation registy etc .(i already have creatures allowed in SL) here is my papyrus log

Make sure that creature animation is enabled in the SL MCM > Animation Settings. Also ensure that FNIS and FNIS Creature pack are installed and that Generate FNIS for Users is not generating any errors. Check if you have any creature animations installed.

 

Looks like something might be overriding the Aroused Creatures scripts. Check the compatibility of an patches for AC and SL.

 

95% of that log is spam from vanilla scripts. This suggests something that overrides those scripts was installed mid-game, which might produce unexpected results in some cases, especially for the initial session after installing. You may want to load, wait, then save a couple of times to make sure these scripts are using the updated versions. If there is still an issue with this you may want to take a look at the mod adding those scripts.

Aroused Creatures SE v4.10 and earlier: MCM Blank / Empty / Freezing / Locking up interface

 

This issue has been reported by several users over the last year or so, but I was never able to reproduce it. Now I can.

 

The problem is triggered when opening certain pages of the Aroused Creatures MCM while initial maintenance is still under way after installing the mod. If your game loads quickly, maintenance may be fast enough that you are unlikely to open the MCM before it's complete. But for slower loading games, the results are fatal for the mod and the effects will persist through save and reload.

 

The way to fix this is a clean reinstall: save, remove AC, load, wait 1 hour, make a new save, then add AC again.

 

At the technical level, the problem is the MCM script attempting to access properties and functions of the slacPlayerScript before its OnInit event has returned. Under normal circumstances the calling script is supposed to pause until the OnInit returns. But some combination of factors involved with the MCM means the OnInit event just disappears and takes the entire MCM and all AC functionality with it. This does not generate any warnings or errors in the log, at all.

 

This was not obvious for me until I began final checks for the 4.11 release which includes a new, more accessible, extensible, and translator-friendly notifications system. This system increases the maintenance time considerably, meaning that even with a fast loading game it's very easy to open the AC MCM and access a problematic page before it's complete. Loading a save that already has AC installed is fine because the OnInit event will not fire again, which is how I missed this for so long as I usually dev on existing saves.

 

For those who ran into this: my apologies for taking so long to find the cause.

 

For everyone on the current versions: when starting a new game with Aroused Creatures, or installing Aroused Creature on an existing save, give it a good minute or two before accessing the AC MCM, just to be safe.

 

I was hoping to get the new release out this weekend, but I'll now have to review a lot of code and do a lot of testing to get this fixed. Sorry about that.

Just uploaded SexLab Aroused Creatures SE version 4.11 (MCM version 40026).

 

The big things for this version are addressing the serious issue that was locking up the MCM for some users, and fixing the trans conditions.

 

There is also the addition of a new extensible and translator-friendly notification system. This is primarily intended to allow translators to edit the notifications without having to recompile all the scripts. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to keep translated versions of the mod up-to-date. This system also allows for users to make changes to the notification quickly and easily (although the definition of easy might be relative). Instruction for editing the notifications can be found at the top of the Data/Scripts/Source/slac_Notify.psc file.

 

And just a reminder, this mod is released under GPLv3 open license. This means you do not need my permission to alter and redistribute the mod, in whole or in part, for translation or anything else, so long as the conditions of the included license are followed.

 

SexLab Aroused Creatures SE v4.11 (40026) (2023-03-24):

  • Major Fix: Addressed serious issue that could cause the mod to not function at all after installation. The most obvious symptom of this was an empty Aroused Creatures MCM that would then cause the entire MCM system to stop responding until closed and reopened. This issue was encountered when trying to access certain MCM pages while the mod was still initializing after first installation, such as during a new game. Repairing this required a clean installation of the mod. Working around it simply meant not opening the AC MCM until the mod was fully initialised, which usually takes seconds depending on local performance.
  • Added: External notification storage system. This pulls notification text from a JSON file, allowing for easier customisation and translation without recompiling the scripts. The file can be found at Data/SKSE/Plugins/ArousedCreatures/slacNotifications.json. The tagging and token system is still in flux so don't commit to any major edits for now unless you are prepared to redo them in future.
  • Added: Option to reduce creature arousal threshold for naked victims. This is a percentage of the normal creature arousal threshold and defaults to 100%. This only applies to automatic engagement for now.
  • Added: Option to allow male NPCs to be pursued by male and female creatures in PC/NPC Auto Settings > Male NPCs (Default: None). When a creature is allowed to pursue a male NPC the actual outcome depends on the Required Arousal and Consent options in the Male NPCs section. If the Male NPC > Consent option is set to Creature Only, the male NPC will always be the victim. If it is set to Adaptive then they can be aggressor or victim.
  • Changed: Switched to positive tag matching for oral animations. Negative matching made sense when there were very few animations and some with iffy tagging, but the area is much better populated these days thanks to all the SLAL pack authors. This may result in some inappropriate animations being included in oral pools due to errors in tagging on the animations, but this is not something Aroused Creatures should be policing.
  • Changed: PC/NPC Auto Settings > Sex & Gender > Allow FF/MM options are now a single, clickable text option. This is purely to save an MCM option line as we are up against the 128 limit on that page.
  • Changed: The global cooldown option under General Settings has been replaced by updated PC/NPC cooldown options. There is now a Cooldown Type which can be set to Global and prevent all auto engagements for a time, including with the PC, or to personal cooldowns for NPCs, creatures, or both. Personal Creature cooldowns (or Personal Both) will also prevent the PC being engaged automatically by creatures on cooldown. These settings do not affect direct or dialogue invitation.
  • Changed: Cooldowns are now displayed in minutes in the MCM and extended to a max of two hours.
  • Changed: Aggressive Animations start page will only display recent animations if the user specifically requests them. This is to avoid the delay in opening this menu.
  • Changed: Aroused Creatures will no longer contribute the New Game notification spam unless the debug option has been enabled by adding an empty debugslac.txt file to the Data/SKSE/Plugins/ArousedCreatures folder before launching. Notification about Mid-game updates will still be shown.
  • Changed: Default Invite Arousal threshold increased to 40.
  • Changed: Initial and default Follower Gender for dialogue is now Female (was Both).
  • Fixed: Allow Light Armor setting not properly recorded in saved profiles.
  • Fixed: Trans options not functioning in most circumstances.
  • Fixed: Oral engagement signal not cleared between queued engagements, leading to incorrect notifications.
  • Fixed: Incorrect error code for failed pursuit involving the PC.
  • Fixed: Struggle widget position changing after quick-cleaning player (LCtrl + Target Select Key)
  • Fixed: Allowed Creatures settings incorrectly interpreted causing any male/female and PC/NPC setting to apply to all actors regardless.
  • Fixed: Rough consensual NPC engagements triggered through dialogue reporting as non-consensual.
  • Fixed: Follower and creature dialogue pairing option showing when selected partner is in another cell.
  • Fixed: Several errors in MCM option descriptions.
  • Issue: Maintenance tasks executed when loading a save are taking considerably longer due to the additional processing of the notifications JSON.
  • Issue: Reloading the notifications JSON in-game from the MCM > Other Settings > Notifications Testing options may not pick up alterations from external apps in some environments. Try a quick save and load to get a new file version.

It should be fine. There is a basic compatibility mode enabled by default when Devious Devices is installed. This mode just insures that Aroused Creatures is not trying to automatically start engagements when they are unlikely to be possible due to the equipped devices.

thanks for continuing to work on this... if you are still in development mode, please consider removing the ability when auto engage has been triggered, the PC just needs to talk to any NPC and the creature leaves them alone. yes, i can simply not do so but would prefer the temptation to be removed ?

There are issues with this, such as interfering with quest progression and compatibility with dialogue-driven mods. Cancelling the engagement is just the safest way to avoid breaking users' game.

 

One thing you could do is turn off PC notifications do reduce the opportunity to cancel it.

 

ETA: Just going over the code and it looks like it should be simple enough to an option allowing auto engagement while the dialogue menu is open, for those who want to risk it.

any chance of adding reverse dialogues also for Aroused followers(only) if they can ask for a specific creature the pc should look out for the follower to mate ? kind of like a quest like some followers actively have preference for a dog or a riekling or a HORSE ,it seems kinda onesided mod with just the creatures being active

With the right auto settings configuration, followers and other NPCs will run off to find willing creatures when they get horny.

 

There are plans to give NPCs preferences, so they will seek out or avoid specific creatures or creature races. This might be reflected in the dialogue options. But implementing this is some way off yet.

Hey I'm having an issue where the creature around me should be aroused enough to accept my invitation when I talk to them but it just keeps saying (This creature is not interested).

I am using OSL Aroused - Arousal Reborn as my arousal mod is that the issue here that its not compatible?

Check the Aroused Creatures MCM > Help page, which lists recent engagement failures. Highlight a failure code to see an explanation and possible solution at the bottom of the interface.

It’s also sometimes worth pinging the npc again with the SL aroused hot key to make sure they’re arousal is updated. This sometimes takes a few seconds

For some versions of SL Aroused, the default update time is 160 seconds. This can be reduced to 15 seconds in the MCM. I've never noticed any performance impact from this.

I doesn't work still even after pinging them and waiting a few seconds. also im not using SL aroused but OSL Aroused.

OSL aroused does not properly update creature arousal in its current state on scans . You have to manually scan update a creature to update their arousal. It really doesnt work with this mod in its current state.
