I got around that one with another mod by redownloading it and trying again. Might be worth a shot. Second time it just worked

DD doesn't list devices that are worn, just the possible events. Do you mean device types in Device Hider? That's just visual. If you mean DD Equip, that's not this mod. The sex animation filter for bound animations should prevent inappropriate animations, unless you turned off that option. All that DD will do is hide the device during animations in that situation.

But for some reason, Vortex thinks the program is for a different game. That's what the patch is for, I guess. The creator of FNIS PCEA2 retired from modding three years ago and there have been no updates since then. I don't know why I installed it in the first place. Probably, it's required for another mod I will now have to do without. No bug reports at all, but 1,422 posts that I should have paid closer attention to. Maybe I can find some solution buried in the comments, otherwise I will probably have to start the game over. If this wasn't the cause of the problem, I don't know what was. I seem to recall some mods (Teen Dolls?) overwrote part of Zaz, but if that were the cause, quite a lot of people would be having this problem.
Faustling Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 The posts in the PCEA2 forum were no help, but I finally dug out all of the old files. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled DD, and because the extended skeleton somehow got messed up during this, I uninstalled and reinstalled it too. Then I ran the FNIS tool. Vortex said it as good, and the FNIS tool found no problems. But the bug is still there, the same as before. At this point, I think I should uninstall everything and start a new game. But this will be my third attempt, and I have no idea how this happened, so how do I know it won't happen again?

iamwookie Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 For those having issue and using Vortex I can confirm that both DD 5.1 and DCL 9 work without issues in Vortex. So the issues are either other mods overwriting when they shouldn't/Download issues/etc The Designed for a Different Game is because of the Form, and the warning doesn't matter in this case as long as you are sure you grabbed the SE version. I do have a Mod Rule setup so that DD loads after Zaz (Another Mod uses Zaz so I still need it)
Kikaxe Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 I'm gonna convert Devious Devices into TBD. But I'm quite not sure which outfit I should put SMP physics on. I'm thinking I should put TBD SMP on the outfit which covers Chest~Thigh. It means I'm not gonna put the physics on collar, armbind, shoes, gloves... I'll just convert body from CBBE to TBD. Any advice on which outfits NOT to apply physics?

Earlier in the thread OP posted a fix that will let the metal textures show without having Cursed Loot.

Aborting call and returning None I'd expect this with an old DD version of that script, or an old SLIF patch. If you use SLIF, i've got updated patches on the troubleshooting post. So I found the failure it's DeviousAdventuresSE which caused it. It seems pretty unstable and buggy after I read the comment section. Does anyone know an alternative mod?

What mod manager are you using? i don't believe I have any patches for DD, unless you mean DD assets, expansions and equip. I also downloaded v5.1 from the mega link in the file page.

Thanks for your help, then it's strange that they didnt fix the problem for a long time. I figured out 'cursedlot' here was not the mod but a folder in DD/texture later on, and solved the problem simply by dragging the cursedloot folder from old DD texture.
Faustling Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 I was finally was able to construct some zbfcuffs, so I guess DD is now working for me. Most of the other items don't show up yet, but I suppose they will when I have more smithing skill. It was quite a long struggle, with many false starts. In case it happens again, I think I should write down the nature of the problem. The problem was with the Character Making Extender, which is required by the Race Menu, which is required by XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended, which is required by DD. The Character Making Extender is obsolete, so installing it corrupts all the mods that depend on it. However, I was able to identify four files which are obsolete and can be manually removed without harm. Having done that, I had to uninstall and reinstall all of the dependent mods, in order to get DD working. I am surprised this hasn't happened before. Now, I can finally start to have some fun.

ECE is not a requirement for Racemenu, at all, never has been. And indeed, the ECE install gives the user several versions of the dll for the different game versions, so unless users remove them manually they'll fail to load and probably produce a crash at game launch, a poor install design imo.

If they have pyhsics and would jiggle around it would look unreal, wouldn't it?

As i know a little of physics if you don't use physics on belts, it's not jiggle but if butt or belly have physics it will jiggle into chastity belt and clipping in movement. You must choose between two evils: jiggle a belts, or clipping a belts.
