Are all jackets not showing up or any other items showing invisible?

Is this a fresh install of DD 5.0?

I guess at this point I'm just going to have to wait for the new version of DCL to come out and try it then. if the problem persists I'll post again in the DCL thread because I'm at a loss for what else could be causing the problem. It's not like the game is not playable for now.

UPD: I can confirm that after install DCL-Zaz HDT SMP netimmerse error shows up, but after installed your give scripts to me personally error gone.

 

 

Ok, I'd think it would be more wide spread since I haven't changed anything for DCL, just deleted the DD scripts from the package. But I'll check again.

I have the masters, I have downloaded the new version and installed it with my mod organizer, I run fnis and batch build in bodyslide. Then I start a clean new game and try testing out equipping random items using the AddItemMenu mod to spawn the restraints (I even removed Cursed loot, the main source of events in my games, because I wasn't sure if the issue was caused by that mod, and so now I basically have no mods actually adding devices anymore - but the devices still don't seem to work, at least not as expected).

 

So I'll equip a new collar type, it works, great. I equip a rebreather, it works. A gag? No problem, and piercings also seem to work. A new elbow shackle - fine. Now lets try some of those new straitjackets...

 

And nope! Every single one I've tested out are invisible on my character when I equip them - and my character becomes basically invisible when equipping them (only the body areas not covered by the device is shown, including body areas affected by other devices - so the gagged face is shown, but not the body underneath. Same with SJs that are not new to this edition. They're still invisible. I know I built them in bodyslide. Why are they not showing up - anybody have any ideas or explanations that spring readily to mind? The same problem also occurred when I was testing out the devices with cursed loot events called from the menu earlier on - many devices would equip as expected, but not all of them, and in particular straitjackets are a problem.

Check where bodyslide is outputing the files you build. Some people recently had bodyslide redirecting somewhere else, such as to \meshes\meshes .. that won't work.

Make sure your preset is showing up if you select one of the problem outfits.

Build just that outfit and see where bodyslide is putting it. Check in game if it shows if you build the single outfit.

DD 5.0 requires a new game. Updating from a save where an older version was installed is not supported.

 

Edit: you can try cleaning scripts, but proceeding without starting a new game is at your own risk. we don't know how much will be broken, which is why upgrading is not supported.

Have you checked where bodyslide is outputting the files to. There's a settings in the bottom right, click that and then expand advanced.

Try building a single problem outfit and see where it saves to.

Make sure your preset shows for the outfit.

At the time, the ankle chains. I did have it installed and have installed the patch. the ankle ones work now but I'm still seeing issues with wrist chains, tried building non HDT versions but that still didn't work

I no longer do this for any mod I self port from LE for myself and I have not seen a good reason in the years I've been converting mods to SE to do so. I do recall a few times when mods broke when converted to form 44, even though it's been long enough i don't recall which ones.

Thanks for the response.  I guess that would be the point.  I haven't seen a "good" reason, for either stance.  However, in game experience counts as much as overall modding experience.  So I will probably convert to Form 44 and test, in one profile and leave as Form 43 to test in a different profile.  So, it looks like a couple more weeks of testing before I can actually play.  Since I would rather not blow a 100+ hour game, part of the reason why I dumped LE for SE.

 

It seems that to understand the why's behind it, I may have to delve deeper into Skyrim's coding.  Since the only information I have found so far is far from complete nor does it explain the meanings behind the techno-babble.  Such as one source that shows a side by side comparison but fails to explain or provide links to explanations as to the meanings or definitions.  Similar to coding in any language but not understanding the basic structures or flow of good coding practices.

Wrist type chains are just broken. If it's the ones i'm thinking of, the chains are wiggling along on or under the floor. I need to experiment more with the xml, to see if I can at least get them attached and hanging like the harness gloves. We haven't been able to get any wrist chains to act like the ankle chains yet, even though the bone setup *looks* more or less the same. The 'working' part here was getting them to move even if not attached, and not causing CTDs.

 

Edit: The non HDT should be removing the chains completely.

Not really. I expect it should be adding a keyword, maybe script reference and enchantment, and adding it to the new form lists.

 

I'd take a look at zadx_chastitybra_Padded_Gold_Inventory as a reference, in DDx under the armor section.

Might be easier to copy it and the _rendered, and the armor addon, change the editor/display names and point it to the mesh you want.

 

You'd need to add it to the form lists either way or it won't be used.

Just to be sure on this point - you did know that DD 5.0 requires a new game right? You absolutely should not put it in an existing game, unless that existing game has never had any version of DD. So if your 100+ hour game has DD 4.3, stick with that until your playthrough is complete.

 

This form 44 topic reoccurs fairly often on the sse conversion tracking thread (just reappeared on the last two pages again in fact), you may want to search in there for arguments for and against. Two/three years ago we were doing it, but once we found it worked just as well without for the vast majority of the mods, regardless of arthmoor's recommendations, most of us have stopped converting to form 44.

i didn't think this was ever an issue. in MO2 plugin list, i have the Form 43 checker set to false (thanks to JustDont's tutorial), and i have never had any issues or messages as a result.

Thanks, it will be a new game.  I am still in the modding and testing phase of my setup, merging plugins and all that jazz.  The 100+ hour game refers to a crash and corruption of my save files in oldrim.  I did a lot of questing, and dungeon diving, beefed up my PC's stats, killed Alduin, then began the Civil War, then crash and burn.  Although, there were indications it would happen, I kept playing and cleaning my saves. 

 

So far in SE, my test and "play" games are very stable, no crashes or save bloating, I also stopped cleaning my save files, since there are, two sides to that argument, as well.

It's harder than that. It would have worked in 4.x but 5.0 requires the devices to use a specific slot.

You would have to make a copy of the nif files with another name, use nifskope to change the dismemberskininstance to slot 56. (for a bra)

Then, inside creation kit, make a copy of the armoraddon changing the slot and using the new nifs

Then make a copy of the rendered armor of a bra using the new armoraddon.

And last, make a copy of a devious bra inventory device and edit the script properties for rendererddevice and inventorydevice

So I deleted all of the old DD stuff I had, like the hotfix, bodyslide files, CTD fix, DD-Int and DD-Ass. I figured this update would include all of these things. Yet when I run a new game and try to use Defeat and Capture I get nothing. Is there something I am missing? Do I still need all of those old assets in order to run? Some help would be nice.

Thank you! My other load order is just for messing around with sexlab stuff, haven't even left riverwood with it, so makes sense it upgraded with no problem. Love the update by the way! Keep up the great work.

What do you mean by get nothing? What do you think should happen? What event or quest, if any?

 

The new version does not require anything from the old version. Bodyslide is included, it installs DDa, DDx, DDi, DDc, and optionally DD for Him and Beast Race refits. The controller CTD fix is included, as are the script edit to get rid of the nioverride error. Gag fix is included.

 

The bodyslide group name changed, make sure you build the DD framework group. If you were using ddhotfix, choose the no hdt options for the DD Framework HDT or NoHDT chains groupl.

Hello people, sorry for bothering y'all, but as a modding noob, I have a problem.

 

I've downloaded the files from here https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5878-devious-devices-se/

Installed them via MO2, ran FNIS, and got this :

 

Reading DDSL V4.0.0 ...     ChAnims:410     CTD:2,8%     pOpt:0,9%
>>Warning: \character\behaviors\FNIS_Defeat_Behavior.hkx not Skyrim SE compatible<<

And many more errors of the same type. FNIS says I have files not compatible with SE, which shouldn't be the case, so here I am, asking for help.

Edit: I had the "HKX" box ticked for some reasons, now I only get this warning :

That seems to be a problem of the mod Defeat, not Devious Devices. Probably you've downloaded Defeat for LE
