Juliette Tango Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Hi all, A short teaser for the upcoming Sam & Ray Mystery: Xanthi Mystery Teaser.mp4 10

I'm ready, and the popcorn is ready (I'll probably eat it now, and make some more next week). ? @heartbeatsandbrainwaves I liked the 2nd story, with the Goths, better. Overall, I think it was well done, and the visuals looked good. The only constructive criticism I could come up with would be that some of the "tails" on the speech bubbles did not point to the character's mouth. I also would have liked to see how the "babies" turned out. 4

snowdog04 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Hey JT, I noticed "your" shirt there... that makes you either a masochist, or a neighbor of mine. You from WNY? One of Autumn's TwitFace friends posted that she treated herself to Five Guys on her birthday. That sounded awesome, so she did the same thing. Wait... Burgers? WTF are you guys talking about? Still young enough to think that this is a good way for a party to end... 7

I spent two years in NYC and traveled upstate when I could to get out of the city. I also knew a guy who went to Niagara University. I haven't lived up north in a long time and miss it a lot. The other week we had a day when it was 117 F in the shade. So I guess that makes me a masochist too! 8

That's just our world-famous insane asylum in the very southeast corner, the state is 300 miles long and 200-something miles north to south, and MUCH more rural than most people realize. It doesn't get above the 90's here, but it's NEVER a dry heat. The heat index when it hits the 90's is always well over 100.
JMTe Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 The Legend of Korra is coming to Netflix soon, so I thought of creating Asami in Sims 4. Close enough? Haha 12

Like, they think the whole state is like LA or Hollywood - maybe San Francisco - because that’s all they know about us. In reality, around 60% of the land is devoted to agriculture and livestock. Hell, there’s a dairy farm in my city (suburban with shopping centers), and the city that neighbors us let’s its residents own horses, chickens, goats, and llamas/alpacas. SoCal gets up to the high 110s F in summer and it’s a dry heat (yay for deserts ?). Also, our mountains catch fire towards the later half of the year. And sometimes it hails in January. And last year it slushed for like five minutes. Our weather is fucking stupid. Oh yeah, “Photography Corner.” Uh... here’s a picture of 2pac being a madlad. 4

No wonder they made movies there! I don't know how anyone can afford to buy a house there, though! 2
sadcakes Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I finally found a discord server community for fans of my favorite show so I wont be spamming much here anymore ^o^ But I thought this pole dancing photo edit was really pretty so I will still share 6
Guest Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I didn't touch the sims in months. Until now... I Splashed out on some patreon content.

I mean, I talk shit, but I still like living here. When the weather's nice, it's perfect. Shit is WAY too expensive, though. Like, lemme live, damn lol. In other news, I've stepped out of my comfort zone and got to building. Since the next update for PBW 2.0 is Spa Day, I decided to build a massage parlor. Introducing, Han's Happy Hands! What's this? Hmm, I wonder why there's a hidden basement with a bed and a bar... I'm still working on the basement. I mostly just want it to look less empty. I'm thinking of adding posters of Han and her employees "relieving" some high-paying clients on the walls, but I'm open to any tips or suggestions. Building isn't really my strong suit. I'm a lot better at making sims than I am at making lots and rooms. 7

They did add to the comic look, but there's a reason some of the tails lined up so poorly and I don't know if I can fix it. Subtitles were a lot easier, but I feel like they covered up too much of the image in parts. I don't know what i'll do in the future, but thanks for letting me know. 2

erplederp Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 An experiment in ArtBreeder (one of those AI image tools) - turning a sim into a "real human bean". The input image is on the left. The middle one is generated by the AI with the art slider cranked up - it has an oil painting quality to it. The right one shows more realistic settings, with just a little bit of the uncanny valley. The AI thankfully ignored the freakish size of her eyes (I reduced the sim's eye size a bit afterwards ?). I think I should have upped the latino-hispanic slider (it seems to result in a slightly wider nose). Her freckles are unfortunately missing, but her eyelashes and makeup are captured quite well. Not sure what is going on with her earring. ? 13
Abandoner Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 @erplederp Damn, those sort of tools are scary good. Really interesting results. 4
erplederp Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 @Abandoner While fiddling with the sliders (esp. at their extremes), one gets an intense feeling the network is simply combining/weighing the photos and images used to train it. This "averaging" seems to smooth out minor features or flaws (wrinkles, freckles,...). I suppose it can be useful if one needs to create "original" and decently looking portraits, landscapes or other images for a game or a story. They also apparently have a dedicated section where one can use the power of AI to generate anime-style girls. What a time to be alive. ? 4
