I'll take a shot: 

a) Because they are all horny. There are no giantesses after all and mammoths only do so much for them after a while.

b) Because he head that Olfina Gray-Mane had the hots for you and was going to castrate you with that knife - until he got a good look and now he's confused,

c) Mr. Bigglesworth is still waiting for you to come home so he can get his well-deserved pets, and

d) If it is not just off to your left I must assume that Hermaeus Mora has moved it to Apocrypha.

Still can't find Volunruud but I stumbled on to Skyborn Altar and a Frost Dragon which slammed into the side of the mountain and caused this:

It hit the mountainside where the top of my head is. It then skidded along until . . .

. . . it slammed head-first into the vertical part of the word wall, just about where my right shoulder is. It started to turn around but I killed what was left of it where it is lay now. In both images you can clearly see where the ground was churned up by the crashing dragon. (Hidden Employee, Crashing Dragon?)

While this was going on, Jon B-B and my employee turned up but were chased off again by the skelly Draman things which were guarding the altar. I have now killed those but still no sign of Jon, employee or Volunruud.

 

Volunruud or bust.

Head further East. Volunruud is closer to the Lorius farm where Cicero is/was.

 

 

Hat's is derping around in olde crypts, testing out some infernal devices, in particular some HDT chains and manacles.

 

  That strange masked fellow in the background is a member of the Pale Academy, a sect of necromancers ravaging Skyrim's tombs for dead not blessed by Arkay and generally trying to pick up the peices left by Mannimarco's Worm Cult.

another set of rabbit ears is possible by doing a quick google search for "skyrim fran armor" the original i got from nexus i cannot find the link to now,

Ancano is like Brynjolf in my game. He's one of those NPC's that I just avoid like the plague, having to dance around Riften market to stop him comming to bug me about joining his outfit. The Altmer's less annoying but he does have that one bit "YOU THERE, I heard you discovered something in Saarthal." I like to shut him down and just wander past him and not even acknowledge his prescence, because frankly, fuck the Thalmor.

We came out of High Gate Ruins to be met by Virkmund of all people. That might have been what set off Veralene's thre'penny.

Despite all the indignities my character has suffered she isn't always the victim when things go wrong in Skyrim. Life on the road has left her with a dark secret of her own:

 

 

At some point her sadistic companion got infected as well. When the two have their moments there have been a lot of.... incidents in Skyrim during nightfall (They are not the misunderstood "Companions" type of werewolves). One thing I am proud of is their eye colors remain roughly the same as when they are in their elven form, a tell to their true identities. Yeah, I'm a fan of Moonlight Tales.
