One thing I have noticed is that if I have AWKCR installed I can use Torture devices without an issue but as soon as I make a load order without AWKCR this mod crashes before main menu, so you can try just torture devices plus AWKCR and see what happens. I no longer use AWKCR so can no longer use this mod either unfortunately.

TortureDevices does not have a dependency on AWKCR, you don't need AWKCR at all to use it.  Devious Devices did have a dependency on AWKCR, but the RC8 version available in the DD discussion thread does not.

I gave up trying temporarily and modded skyrim special edition, currently got that setup and good to go minus the texture mods, after that I'll try again with another fresh Fallout 4 install (with 0 mods other than TortureDevices, including dll fixes)

Really want to get this working 'cause Fallout is more my thing

when I click punish on mcm menu getting instantly crash

That happens if you do not have another actor selected.  Make sure you select an actor in the MCM or via the hotkey before using the punish option.

I will fix the crash bug, but in the meantime the function works correctly as long as you have an actor selected.

New Version 2.21 Uploaded

  • Added check in MCM functions to ensure current selected actor is valid (loaded, not deleted, not disabled, not dead, etc.)

Note that the Devious Devices support in this version is for Devious Devices Community Patch RC8.  If you are using Devious Devices 2.0 then you should use Torture Devices version 2.1. See the Devious Devices thread for info on the DD Community Patch

Hi.

First off thatnk you for the hard work.

I'm here not knowing exactly what is the issue and if it's about this mod or "human ressources" that I use with it.

Since human ressources needs this one as requierement, I suppose thzey've been made fully compatible right?

(I'll post on "human ressource" page too.)

So my problem is, I can't assign the slaves to a device. I tried the cross, the pole and the pillory. As some other mentionned it before, they run to the device (sometimes even start the animation to enter it) but they walk away after few seconds....

Whatever they're following or as settlers....

Sorry for my english which goes all over my head right now, I hope to be clear.

Thanks.

That can happen if the device is placed on uneven ground.  Make sure that the device is on a level surface with room around it for the NPC to navigate.

Thank you for the update.

Unfortunately, after the installation, I no longer have any gags during sex via SH. Handcuffs are still there. The dialogue too, but the gag itself is missing. I reinstalled DD RC 8, but unfortunately without success. What else could be the reason?

That's not a problem with Torture Devices.  It sounds like a problem between SH and DD RC8.  Also, if you upgraded from DD 2.0 to RC8, did you remember to remove any DD patches you may have been using, like my Face Morphs for Devious Devices Gags since that is now built in to RC8?

I had previously installed the RC8. However, I had a version of the RC8 that was 431MB in size. The links to the RC8 that I can currently find all point to an RC8 that is only 340MB in size.

I'm in the process of restoring the status from yesterday and narrowing down the problem bit by bit.

Can I just import the new version or do I need a secure save? I currently have 2.2 Beta 3 installed.

You can just import the new version.

What would cause the handcuffs to be offset like this?

Spoiler

image.png.adf6bbd4ab34ab9d14352542be8ddc72.png

I'm using TortureDevices 2.21, and its fairly low in my load order.  There is nothing obvious overwriting any TD files (although TD's PersistantSubgraphInfoAndOffsetData.txt is overwriting the same file in some weapons mods).  And I'm using the Fusiongirl body.

I've tried changing body slots for the handcuffs using xEdit, but that didn't resolve my issue.

Any thoughts?

The handcuffs in this mod were just a proof of concept.  You could fix them in Outfit Studio I suppose, but the better option is to use Devious Devices which uses TortureDevices' animations and AI for its cuffs.

I reloaded an earlier save, and now I can't replicate it.

I'm running...

TortureDevices 2.21

Devices Devices RC8

Real Handcuffs 0.4.14

AAF VIolate 1.59

For some reason, AAF Violate used this placeholder set of cuffs from TortureDevices instead of the cuffs from the other mods.  I've reran the scenario about 6 more times, and every time since has used cuffs from RH or DD.  Odd.

Thanks for the quick replay, in any case.  Appreciate it.

So I've redownloaded Fallout 4 again, took a break to mod Skyrim and New Vegas with TTW, and the only mod I have installed other than the script extender is TortureDevices (the newest version) and I'm running into the same problem I was the last time. The game crashes after "please wait", before it reaches the main menu. What can I download to get a helpful log for you?

If you install Buffout 4 (and its other requirements: Address Library and Plugin Preloader), you should be rewarded with a crash log in your F4SE logs folder the next time you test. That should provide additional clues as to the cause.

here's the log,

I really want to get this working but at this point I'm beyond lost

crash-2022-08-27-16-39-56.log 20.03 kB · 1 download

Unfortunately, Crash Log Auto-Scanner isn't much help here. It says:

Checking for Console Command Crash........CULPRIT FOUND!
> Priority Level: [1] | Detected number of SysWindowCompileAndRun | BSResourceNiBinaryStream | ConsoleLogPrinter : 0 | 1 | 0

Hopefully someone with more experience reading crash log tea leaves will happen along and point out the issue. In the meantime, since it looks like the call stack doesn't contain much other than the base game and F4SE, you might want to have a look in the f4se.log for any additional errors.

thanks for trying to help, I appreciate it,

here's the f4se.log from my documents fallout 4 f4se folder

f4se.log

edit with as much helpful info as I can add, since I don't think there are any errors in this log

I'm running the steam version of Fallout 4 via the latest script extender, and my game only crashes with this mod loaded. I'm using Vortex as my mod manager and It's a completely fresh reinstall, with even the documents folder for the game deleted before doing it.

I've had this mod running before in the past, but I don't think I did anything different back then?

The only thing that jumps out in your log is that it is looking for a file in DATA\MESHES\AnimTextData\ClipGeneratorData\.  TortureDevices does include a file in that folder.  Try removing that file and see if that helps.

Agreed, whatever crashes your game is happening after F4SE has loaded all its plugins. That is clean, at least.

Looking through the Buffout 4 forum, one thing mentioned there which can cause obscure early crashes is if you have antivirus software and it's deciding to abort Fallout4.exe or f4se_loader.exe processes (this is apparently prevalent with Bitdefender in particular). You might check whether any malware protection you have running maintains an activity log which might indicate if it was responsible.

After removing that file, confirming the delete in Vortex and then running the game again through the script extender it still crashes. I'll upload the new crash log just in case its helpful.

I use the standard Windows Defender and I've got the game folders for Skyrim, New Vegas and Fallout 4 set as exceptions so it shouldn't even look at them

Nope, the crash is the same in the second log as in the first.  Same stack, same looking for DATA\MESHES\AnimTextData\ClipGeneratorData\, same crash offset (Fallout4.exe+01E20BE).

the file is definitely deleted, do I need to have AAF installed for this?

in Vortex plugins section this mod doesn't have loads archive as a flag, could this be the issue?
