Is anyone else experiencing CTD with Torture Devices on the Old Gen Fo4? just got a new PC and downgraded FO4 and I'm putting in my old mod order and this and Real Handcuffs is causing CTD at the loading screen. It worked on my old rig so I've been caught flatfooted trying to track down which mods are the issue. I've double checked without any other mods and yeah its still causing CTD. I've tried the older files too but its still an issue. TD is required for Devious Devices and while it will run without it I'm still confused as to why it is causing CTD now when its the exact same Mod order and downloads as my old rig.

Just a wild guess but,  Windows 11 ? and Vortex as mod manager ?

If thats the case you could try wether a manual install still causes CTD.

Tried that and also forcing compatibility, got nothing. I've even googled issues with FO4 crashing due to Windows 11 with mixed results. I'm really at a loss. I doubt I'm the only one who has run into this issue so I was hoping for some feedback on how to fix the issue.

CTD on startup with TD active has been reported occasionally, but afaik no one really got to why it happens for some people.

Thanks! I am currently working on a solution that seems to be working as I've got half my mod list installed and functioning as of right now, lol. So Here's what is currently working for me with Windows 11 (May it die quickly and Microsoft get their heads out of their asses), Mod Manager, Vortex, and manual installations. (I'm dedicated, is my favorite game on PC). So most of my mods are being installed with Mod Manager including DD, Torture Devices, and AFF. Some that are painful to install manually but are not easily compatible with MO2 I'm using Vortext to install and color me surprised it works.... I checked to make sure its actually installed and yeah it works I'm shocked but not complaining. Others I'm manually installing because its just plain easier, lol. 

 

Not sure if this will help anyone in the future but there you go, its what's working and I'm not gonna complain about that, lol. If it stops working or I figure something else I'll post it here. This is more just a memo for anyone else who might have run into this issue like me.

Kind of an odd issue im having. Every time i restart the game (from desktop, not game menu) the room where i have the Sucker Chairs set up looks like someone went on a rampage. The chairs are flipped and look they were thrown around, but some (not all) of the chair hit boxes are still where i placed them and the option to Sit only appears if the old collision box and the chair mesh intersect, also i can pick up the chairs in workshop mode but they act like dropped objects, refusing to right themselves. To fix it, i store the chairs back in the workshop and replace them from the menu. This seems to happen every time i restart the game, but only this piece of furniture. Is it bc they have settlers assigned to them? Bc i logged out by them? is it a Vault 88 thing? Just a weird glitch? the mod was installed with MO2  on the anniversary addition version on steam, also my OS is Ubuntu if that matters? anyway to fix it??

Its because i totally fucked up the collision/havok physics when doing these.

Not much you could do about that besides maybe trying to change some havok settings inside the .nif file using nifscope.

The issue might be solved by changing the collision group from animated static to static, however that might fuck around with its animation...

Can someone give me a hand with this crash log? It's very consistent and I'm exhausted from trying to load saves only for it to CTD. I can confirm that Scrap everything IS NOT the issue as I did a save without it and it still was doing this.

I know it's too late, but log says it crashed on sakr.dll - so it's can be from any SAKR mod.

Thanks I'll get to work on narrowing that down. Thankfully I don't have many as it was such a dang struggle to get it up and running in the first place!

Just curious, where is Steam & Fallout 4 & your Mod Manager installed, I mean what folders.

It sounds like you are having permission issues.

Google "The Midnight Ride Fallout 4" for more information.
