Yes, the more we are exposed to viruses, bacteria, etc, the stronger our immune systems are. Some play and some kill. I do not believe in the "Paranoia" part, but some caution is healthy. I wish the work from home movement was not being squashed by the "System" as then you could stay home when under the weather. It is a balancing act as the more people just getting the flu or the common cold sets the employer back, and the employed pay.

I certainly don't blame anybody for getting sick. I believe that, as with many things in life, the key resides on striking a happy medium: caution, yes; paranoia, no.

 

When there is a new, uncertain and potentially dangerous threat, en masse safety measures such as lockdowns and compulsory mask usage are necessary and effective (heck I got my mRNA shots when everybody was paranoid about them). Now, when the threat has been identified and sort of neutralised (like what happened when the Omicron variant replaced its original and more dangerous versions), I believe that keeping those measures in place can backfire on humanity.

 

The only way to ensure public collective safety in regards to sickness and viruses is to keep everybody in check and with a mask on 24/7. Of course, this is a health utopia (everything else would suck) and a dangerous one, actually. Because even if such an impossible thing came true, nature can't be held. The moment such an artificial and vulnerable system is breached, the consequences would be catastrophic because we need to keep our immune systems trained and, more importantly, we need to be a part of the process so that viruses mutate like COVID did).

 

Actually, this is something I thought of back in 2021. While talking with coworkers, I reflected on the fact that things were bound to get out of hand when the lockdown and compulsory mask usage measures would be over. And it happened. This winter has become a virus rave virtually everywhere.

 

And that's without even mentioning the fact that you can carry a virus but remain asymptomatic or confuse some symptoms with those of an allergy. Trying to keep everything in check is like pretending to trap air with fencing.

The only detail you should add is that the way nature immunizes the population is by killing those that are weak to the disease, problem is that WHO is trying to save everyone, it is impossible, it was a joke earlier, the correct and easiest thing to do is to just let nature selection do it's work until humanity do reach a level where nature is irrelevant, but this will take some time yet, locking the whole world only proves that the scientific level is still too low

Oh yeah, the real reason of coming here... So I had to go get my wife @ work and I went for my Minecraft shirt, bc it is there on the clothes hanger... And it is comfortable, and it is made of...idk the english term... cold knit? It is a type of fabric that is colder and you don't have to iron so it is always ready for use... ANYWAY, so I was there thinking on how much I like that shirt because it is so useful yk... It is good shit! So I went to the store to get my wife and she said I have to take our kid to swimming class, I said... Ok! And then she said: -You are not going with that shirt!

I adopted this little dog from a shelter, he is a Shih Tzu marked black & white like the one in the stock photo. He is a little, stubborn butthead!! He has selective hearing, I'm sure some of you can relate. I will let him out in our fenced yard of two acres, approx. 200 feet x 400 feet, and when I call him back in, he just acts like he doesn't hear me, I can see him standing there thinking about going out the driveway gate, he looks back at me to see if I am watching him, call him, call him, he only comes in when he decides he has sampled all the smells in the air that are new or interesting. I know he can hear me, if I crinkle the cookie bag (dog treats) he immediately comes running so he can hear me, I have been trying to train him for 5 plus years now and have not gotten very far. My previous dog was trained by me and could do lots of things, even say

''I love you" It was cute. This dog is different. There are no dog trainers here in the Boonies (country) so I just have to do the best I can.

That is what's on my mind.

People just "checking out".... I never used to understand why some commit suicide and always thought it was such a waste. But thinking about some ppl I've known and how they shut down after things happened in their lives or spend years fighting some illness or something, I think I get it now. I could never do it myself- lose all hope. Just not wired that way. But I do understand how someone could. It's a deeply personal and solemn decision and I try to respect it.

While this may be echoing what @caveman74 said, but here we are more......free....perhaps.   Oh there are differences to be sure (I agree with @Kendo 2 more times than I should), have had disagreements with @Grey Cloud but those of us here are likely tied by a desire to go beyond the mundane of normal life.    Don't get me wrong, if you want to talk about the NFL, I am all for it (well at least until Kansas City gets revenge, but hey miracles can (I hope) happen), 

 

Of course there are likely many reasons, but the libertarian style of this site is, imo, the reason for the scintillating conversations.....oh and the hot women posted in @Evaloves4 sex hunger forum as well.

I totally agree, I hope Kansas goes in thinking they are gonna stomp Cleveland.  

 

I figure when the score is 27 to 0 (against Kansas) at the end of the first quarter they will go "wait, this isn't the crappy team from Ohio.  We better shape up".   

 

However, just for one game, I will be a fan of San Fran over the Eagles (normally I am an East Coast fan first), just to get another San Fran Cincy meet up in the superbowl.   Third time is the charm.....well..... I hope that is NOT true for the KC Cincy game ? .
