Mr. Otaku Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I'll never get used to how sharp cactuses are, yesterday i went to a friend's house to pick her up cause we were going somewhere and she has a few of cactuses on her living room window sill. Out of fascination i went to take a closer look when she was changing clothes cause i always do that with weird shit and like a complete moron wanted to touch the thorns, then i pricked my thumb on it and it started bleeding. Now reading this you might be thinking "yeah no shit dumbass that's what happens when you touch cactuses irresponsibly" and you'd be right, that's also what my friend said. But just how little pressure it took to get my finger pricked on it is the real fascinating part to me. It's sharper than anything else you'd have in your house and the fact that something like cactuses can even exist in nature is so wild, like how did it even ended up that way you know? And on top of that camels eat those things like it's no big deal. Imagine that in your mouth. Yikes bruh.

I mean, yeah camels aren't native to these parts but they do eat cactuses because deserts are the prime environment for them to grow and camels are desert animals so they evolved to eat them in order to survive.
Grey Cloud Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Okay, so let's concentrate on this part: 1 hour ago, Mr. Otaku said: camels are desert animals so they evolved to eat them in order to survive. Cacti are native to the Americas with the exception of one species which grows in tropical Africa, Madagascar and Sri Lanka. Camels are native to Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Ergo and ipso facto, the camel's ability to eat cacti is not an evolved trait. ?

lucifeh Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) Actually we will escape (real death) after the star (dies?) and doesn't have enough power to run the quantum computer, maybe in a trillion years... Or on the next second... Edited January 20, 2023 by lucifeh

Do you mean the bank goblins in Harry Potter? Is this the stuff Rowling has been writing in her spare time? some people who must have their sanity compromised started saying that there is an antisemitism in the harry potter universe, where the goblins would behave like jews but being shown in a pejorative way.

Ah yes the Jewish goblins. Was a quick joke in my circle of friends. Given the overall negative connotations of goblins in fantasy it could be an easy write off as just another trope of the genre but I would not be too surprised if Jewish stereotypes is where J. K. Rowling got her inspiration. In the end goblins are not Jews and it is up to reader interpretation... yay? Oh and fuck Nazis!
