What music do you listen to?

I grew up with listening to bands like Journey, led Zeppelin, and the Beatles cause of my dad. However in my teenage years my love of music changed to almost all kinds of metals; scream, heavy, speed, aluminum, melodic, etc. Bands like Metallica, Dragonforce, Avenged Sevenfold, Deals Death, Rage against the Machine, and Rhapsody of Fire.

I've stuck with them ever since, although can and will listen to most other types of musics. I love listening to music in foreign languages too like Foreground Eclipse (Japanese) and Haggard (German).

I love music, it has helped me get through a lot of tough times, nowadays whenever I'm alone i listen to music.

I hope this won't count as necroposting :)

Most artists i like performing their songs in English and i'm don't know english good enough for listening coprehention (not sure if google translated it correctly - i mean that i can understand what people write, but can't understand what do they say). I'm used to take artist's voices just like another one musical instrument.

So... I'd like to make you feel same way :)

Let me introduce you some of my favorite russian music :3

More or less everything. I try not to judge so everything from underground hiphop to melodic death metal but right with summer and all, it's more of electronic and chill vibe tunes.

Current favorite tune, not everyone's taste but I love listening to it as I jog in the forest here,

1970's funk (The Ohio Players, George Clinton, Rick James) and of course 'The Man' James-muther-fucking-Brown.

1980's hardcore punk (Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, GBH, Minor Threat, Dr. Know, some Dead Kennedys once in a while)

Jazz, as in REAL jazz and not that pop-fusion bullshit (Sonny Rollins, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis)

I also really dig Tool and Smashing Pumpkins.  Dr Dre and Snoop Dog era rap is also good.

I otherwise can't stomach music unless is Classical (Chopin, Bach, etc.)

pissed off from work...thinking of murdering one of my co-workers who took the credit for the presentation I made for one of our clients...then this classic song just played in my mind:

dunno, that song (or any other Tool song) pops up in my mind when I think dark thoughts...

Tool is incredible. Definitely my favorite band. Wish they'd finish that new CD now that the lawsuit against their insurance company is done. :P

Music wise I can listen to anything but rap and country. I prefer metal, classic rock (70s mostly), and soundtracks / game and movie scores.

I'm not picky on the genre I listen to, there's bound to be music from every genre that I enjoy. Classical, musical theatre, opera, scores/instrumentals, rock (its many varieties), metal, folk/country, pop, edm, even some rap. My taste is a little difficult to define, I guess. It's just so broad.

I've been listening to this song a lot lately, for a specific example of something I like

I thought we could have a litte chitchat about music. :)

What music do you listen to? Is there a specific genre you prefer or do you rather listen everything all over the place? Since when do you listen to the music you listen to now?

Is music important for you?

Do you have special occasions in which you listen to special music?

Well, that's everything that comes to my mind so far. :D

I absolutely prefer Heavy Metal, namely the extreme subgenres Black and Death Metal with a ~90% focus on Black Metal. I listen to Black Metal since... approximately 7 years or so and since then it has become quite my everyday music. I can listen to it in every occasion, be it playing video games, washing or trying to sleep. :) I like other music too, like some medieval rock/metal, (dark) ambient, soundtracks, classical music and sometimes experimental or avantgarde, but I don't listen to them that frequently.

Been out of the loop with music for almost ten years now, no joke. I usually just listen to whatever background music is in the game I'm currently playing, whether it's Skyrim or the Sims or Final Fantasy lol. Outside of playing, I listen to podcasts or talk radio

Rock and heavy metal, mostly.  I especially love classic/blues-inspired rock like Meat Loaf or Queen, the latter being my favorite band overall.  I also listen to a lot of anime theme music.  Bonus points for any music I can sing along to, with my voice mostly being in the mid to higher baritone/low tenor range.  I sang in the school choir from sixth grade all the way to graduation, so I've got a pretty decent understanding of my own voice.
