Guest toymachine Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I hope they do take advice from idtech because RAGE was a good FSP game and DOOM looks so sexy. And I never was much of a FPS gamer.
Sacremas Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Eh, I seriously doubt Snapmaps and Fallout buildings are in any way related. FPS map editors have almost always had the option to in the editor walk through your level, I mean Duke Nukem 3D had it even, so basically it's just the editor intergrated into the rest of the game. Fallout settlement builders rather come from (and this has basically been confirmed by Howard and Hines) the Fallout 3 and New Vegas mods Real-Time Settler and Wastland Defense (search the Nexus). You can see a lot of things that were mods in previous games like grenade button, sprint based on action points and so on having been included in the game, including basically an ENB it looks like (I'm curious to see where old Boris will take it though). Weapon Mods for Fallout 3 was just one of the things Obsidian added into Fallout New Vegas due to mods, Hardcore Mode is another. Just like I'm sure people who played a lot of modded Oblivion (I played everything up to New Vegas on consoles) saw at least a few mods getting intergrated into Skyrim, and just like I'm sure Skyrim mods will get intergrated into the next Elder Scrolls. Kinda think Sexlab is safe from intergration however... But what with the shift in storylines with the voiced protagonist we may see some Witcher style naughty scenes, probably done both untasteful, badly and a lot more censored than Witcher. But at least then we'd have somewhere to start, just like Animated Prostitution had Nova going to bed with you to start off with.
Sicon3 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 lessons learned stay learned the time to get from launch to where we are now with Skyrim (from a mod basis) Should be shorter just like it took less time to get big mods for New Vegas than for fallout 3
Surgat Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Ah, another fine Bethesda game to take away 200+ hours of my life. I wonder how many hours I'll end up modding it versus actually playing it...
ojanen Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 The Skyrim there were crafting, I think that kind of crafting material is was not enough. For example, the cloth does not exist, so a lot of people were using the linen wrap of ancient Nord ruins for the crafting of cloth products. So as not to such things in FO4, people with influence should release a mod crafting collections at an early stage. Although it is a story of if there is an item crafting to FO4. In addition, a large number of Body mod came out in Skyrim. I thankfully. But, they did not have esp / esm in most of the case, it was replacer of the default body. As a result, the follower mod also came out number, those that use a special body mesh of them were installed many of the same body mod. Many of the UNP and CBBE and other bodys. I think this was a completely wasted. I think Issue the FO4 In Body mod as a resource with esp / esm like Apachii, follower mod author should be able to use them mod as a master file. Since I have no ability to make the body mesh, but there's no other you have them so the person who can be them. I'm sorry you do not understand divided my Google English.
Jayce Dimmer Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 As far as the bodies are concerned, what should be done is that the bodies should use the vanilla UV map, and ideally be made by reshaping a single body mesh, essentially making them all just Bodyslide variants of the original mesh. Having outfits and the like being locked-in to a specific body mesh and texture combo is just bad. A unified ecosystem is best.
Sacremas Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 If someone actually manages to put out a bodyslide body very early, that would be awesome. Skyrim bodyslide just came far too late. If no one takes the effort to pull that off... we will 10-20 different body types just like we did Skyrim, and people are going to pick their favorites and make outfits for those bodies, and we'll have the exact same mess. Thing is a lot of outfit makers doesn't care about the game itself except as a way to show off what they've made and take screenshots of their characters, you know who these creators are, and they won't care about a unified system unless it's already in place. People like Deserter X are basically the only ones who care about getting their awesome outfits out everywhere and be compatible and make many different versions. So yeah, getting someone skilled like Caliente or our own blabla to rush that bodyslide universally morphable body out will be critical. But of course that also depends on what the meshes are. If the body weights mean having to make multiple versions of their outfits again just to be able to slide from 1-100 on one body... it's going to piss people off, for good reason. Rather I really hope they use nodes or the like to stretch, so modders only have to make one version and make sure the textures doesn't distend on reasonably shaped bodies.
RitualClarity Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I have heard that BGS picked up some former employees from Bungie to teach them how to make a proper FPS game. And while auto-aim pisses me the f**k off 90% of them time, I think that it is another thing that was in the console version to "help" the people who aren't going to play the game for years and become good shots with a bow. So if the PC version is another junk console port, then expect to see auto-aim make a return. While that would be welcome as those Bungie folks had some awesome ideas overall... if they wanted to learn how to make FPS games why not ask the studio they purchased, called id Software? I mean you might have heard of them, they made these games called Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake (and Rage but no one cares). As in the games that actually created the genre. Just saying. Here's an example of their upcoming work, published by Bethesda; Doom 3 and Quake 4 was really what started me seriously gaming. Before then I just played some minor games randomly and without much time investment. Doom3 and Quake 4 was when I really started investing time (and some money) on gaming. Since then Fallout 3 was what finally put the nail in the coffin and I haven't stopped since.
Sacremas Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Anyone else hoping for a lot more Lovecraft shit in this game, what with it being where Lovecraft came from and wrote a lot of his books in (Arkham and Innsmouth are both supposed to be in Massachusets)? I mean we got a pretty solid preview in Fallout 3. Maybe as part of publishing The Evil Within they asked about pointers for horror games as well as FPS games? And for us, totally legit reason to put tentacle rape in the game. Bonus.
testsubject013 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 If i don't get a town full of fish people I'm going to be piss

DoctaSax Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Possibly the coolest song that ever made it to the fallout franchise. And to think it's Dion
DoctaSax Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 IIRC the rest of the song was mostly verses about having a girl in every town, hence the swagger. As always, they leave the ball in our court
Duoleb The Chosen Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Im not going to buy it, the deception and how they abandoned skyrim was enough to piss me off, also this game smells morel ike Dumbfied Skyrim and Borderlands with guns, rather than fallout anymore
shadowlord445 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Bethesda has a first look photo of Piper on their twitter https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios
TheOzoneHole Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 It is "The Wanderer" by Dion and the Belmonts to be really specific. While I wouldn't be disappointed if more late 1950s - 1960s style music started showing up, I don't think it really fits the classic 1950s style of Fallout. A lot of that style was actually set by Beth with FO3, but they keep feeling the need to tweak things with every game, they can't seem to leave well enough alone with working systems. I just hope that the music list is longer this time, I got really sick of some of the music from New Vegas and FO3.
GrimReaper Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Im not going to buy it, the deception and how they abandoned skyrim was enough to piss me off, also this game smells morel ike Dumbfied Skyrim and Borderlands with guns, rather than fallout anymore I like how people always say 'this game is a more dumbed down version of the previous game'. People said that when Oblivion came out. Then people were actually defending Oblivion, saying that Skyrim is a big pile of steaming shit. And now Skyrim is supposed to be the game that Fallout 4 can't ever be? I mean, there was some merit to people saying that Oblivion was a very simplified version of Morrowind, but the other claims are absolutely bonkers. Also, they didn't abandon Skyrim. It's still riddled with bugs, yes, but updating the game is always prone to screwing up mods. I remember that people moaned and complained whenever Bethesda released a new update because steam forced you to update the game, upsetting the delicate balance you've achieved with your modded game. Complaining is the new thing, apparently. By all means, if there is a legit reason to complain, please do so, like when developers like Ubisoft put microtransactions and locked content in their full price games or when developers like Square Enix do shit like the pre-order thing with the new Deus Ex. But this here, there isn't any reasonable reason to bash Fallout 4. You know what you get - they didn't make the graphics look better than they actually are, unlike CDPR did with Witcher 3. They don't mask that Fallout 4 is going to be mainly a FPS-RPG hybrid, with the gameplay focused on the FPS side of things.
Sicon3 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Bethesda has never let me down with fallout or TES so i see no reason to abandon all hope now
Guest Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 ...Complaining is the new thing, apparently. ... It always was and always will be. I stopped following a while ago this thread; it is worst than the "Rant Thread".
