willtylor Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 anyone else using mod organizer that has convenient horses with prison overhaul? i'm getting a strange error popping up where it asks me to put the former before the latter and then a while latter asking the opposite (left pane) My Prison overhaul has not worked ever since I installed the convenient horses mod. For me the guards will bind me, but their dialogue won't trigger after I have been bound, they just sit there staring at me forever.

Don't forget, most of the times you have to actually uninstall a mod (rather than just uncheck it in the load order) to make sure its scripts stop firing. Sounds like the arrest scene hangs, try moving POP to last in your load order. Also, you can disable the arrest scene in the POP MCM, see if it works then.

CTD's after the Beth logo is usually indicative of a missing master. Are you sure you are uninstalling both PO and POP? If you have removed both then check though to make sure no other mod has a dependency on PO or POP (I don't know of any mods that do but that doesn't mean there aren't some around) I've moved without problems from 8f to 8g and I'm still on the old v28 of papyrusutils and did not have any problems

Crap, I know nothing about MO. i think it might be my load order. i'll keep an eye on it and see if changes from upgrade to upgrade visa vis POP/horses

I've tried all of your suggestions, (completely deleting the convenient horses mod did nothing, and when I disable the arrest scene, it takes me to the jailor, but then it's the same story where the dialogue wont trigger with the jailor either.
majorfreak Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 try starting a new game to test it out, willtylor. btw, before installing convenient horses, how many other mods did you install between then and the last time you experienced the jailor dialogue? if you use mod organizer you can sort the left pane according to installation date...that may help you diagnose issues. i've had to remove a few mods completely simply because they caused horrible issues ingame...if you ever find the offending mod it'll be a choice between prisonoverhaul and that mod. hopefully there's a fix that's simple (mcm option maybe? or install order? or load order you have to do manually?)

I found that I was having the same problem for multiple mods (simple slavery, TDF Prostitution) where whenever a scene should be initiated by a NPC, the scene dialogue would not start. So I spent hours uninstalling and re-installing mods trying to figure out what the hell was going on, and I finally realized my Fuz Ro D-oh was missing. I don't know how it happened, but somehow I un-installed Fuz Ro D-oh, and now everything is working perfectly again now that it's re-installed. Sheeesh! Fuck Me!

Rely on LOOT sorted load order in right panel and match the left panel with it. Despite what Tannin says, you can usually just ignore MO warnings about mod order, if you have sorted them as I recommended. The system that it uses is old. We are hoping that most of those problems will be solved in upcoming MO 2. Only exception I know for XPO+POP is the property edit in Skooma Whore. I am moving SW above XPO+POP in load order.

POP undoes several changes of USLEEP, most notably Navmeshes in the towns. Would it be safe to carry over the USLEEP changes into POP (the mod itself, or a new patch esp), or might that interfere with some of the prison/arrest scenes somehow? Sorry if this sounds dumb, but I really don't know how this works under the hood. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I really wouldn't want any pathing issues around the pillories and stuff.

Most mod just don't care and assume everybody should just use USLEEP, because it's a several years long patching process that resolve a ton of problem in skyrim. The changes introduced by USLEEP are there to fix an issue and shouldn't add any content or change anything in any "breaking" way. If you both change the same thing, it's alright. If POP reintroduce vanilla issues, it's a problem. I'm saying all that, but I have no idea what navmeshes are

GeorgiaCav Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 8g has been great -- a real upgrade over previous versions. However, for some reason, Windhelm presents problems even 8g can't seem to fix. To wit: Everything works fine right up to the point that the jailer takes me to the pillory. Two things can happen: 1. If I follow the jailer manually, without skipping the trip, I end up stuck behind the jailer as she (always a she in my setup) paces jerkily back and forth in front of the pillory. The "get in there so I can lock you up" line never appears. Solutions tried: all of the new forceAI/releaseAI options; waiting for twelve hours (one hour or two hours at a time), and I had to load an old save, untick the hardcore mode checkbox, and restart the arrest to be able to wait, which means the same bug has happened on more than one arrest. Nothing works. 2. If I DON'T follow the jailer, and use the fast-forward function to go to the pillory, I end up falling through the geometry to a place underneath the city, BUT I do get the "get in so I can lock you up" dialogue from the jailer, who is inaccessible 200 feet above me. I found out by TCL'ing before the fast-forward that I and the jailer were being placed *behind* the wall behind the pillories, in an inaccessible area. Sort of like the teleportation target or exit point or whatever (sorry, never got to that point in my own meager modding experience) had been set behind the wall, instead of in front of the pillories. TCL'ing through the wall, then teleporting the jailer to myself, did not cause my pc to enter the pillory. The only things I have in my LO that would edit the cell might be ETaC, Inconsequential NPC's, Immersive NPC's, and I think someone above mentioned Skooma Whore as a source of some LO issue but it's above PO, and in any case I installed 8g (carefully following instructions, force-restarting before and after install, and IIRC I think I cleaned the save before installing the new patch) after SW. Oh, well. I've never liked Windhelm's dungeon anyway.

Outside the Windhelm palace/dungeon? One other question: I see in the pictures on the dl page a prisoner shackled in one of those upright pillories/posts that don't seem to have an actual placeable furniture associated with them -- it's the one where her hands are above her head but she's sitting on the ground, in Whiterun. This post, and one like it that has the victim standing upright, I've seen in animations in SD+ but nowhere else, and they don't trigger very often even in that. Is there a name for these? Are they placeable? Are there conditions in PO or POP that trigger them? I've tried searching Xaz furnitures in the console but I have only seen the crosses, the cruxes, the pillories, the multirestraint poles, nothing I've placed has been these things. I actually like them better than the pillories. ISTR Skyrimll was having trouble getting them to trigger in punishment scenes. (So I guess that was more like three or four questions.) Thanks for all your work keeping this awesome mod getting better and better. EDIT: Speaking of that pole: looks like 3ijou just released some animations involving it. Off to test!

First bringing in the devious devices, then the skill modding, and all the other awesome stuff. POPBHs are my favorites. Speaking of which, Inte can you make it so POPBHs will not warn you when they are about to 'magic green ball' arrest you? I think that punishing post was just a test run? Idk.

I'm thinking that it will be something random, i.e. sometimes they will warn you when they are about to arrest you, but other times they will just shoot you with the bound spell with no warning. You know, to let the paranoia grow!
