monsta88 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Hi there, I just played through this mod and thought I will give you some feedback. Overall it is very good, I liked it. The dialogs are good. A typo here and there and some questionable English, but overall well written and good immersion value. The tasks are varied enough and fit in the story. Too bad there is no UNP version of the suits, these made my character look different. Things I didn't like: The immersion messages come far too often. After a while it is not immersive, it is just an annoying spam, which you don't even notice, let alone read. IMO you should set the delay to a minimum of 30 sec between them, but 1 minute wouldn't be too long either. I didn't like the special bewerage mission. At least it had the options to make my character not like it too. The mailman quest was a bit illogical. While would I deliver the message to a barrel which is already discovered by the enemy? Why would the enemy reveal itself before I make the delivery? They should just wait till I make the delivery, then get the package and follow me to learn about more drop sites and ultimately about the Tower itself. The first mission goal was quite vague. While it had a landmark name in it, I didn't have that on my map. So it took a lot of time to find it. (ofc I could have googled it, but that's not my style). IMO if you have a landmark named, there should be a quest pointer to it, since you can't ask about it from NPCs. The escaped slave mission was a bit hard too. You have 2 hints, that she will need a blacksmith and she will need to work. Also you have a hint to think with her head. Well, since I didn't have any info about her (or I missed the hints), I had no idea what could she think. I thought she will try to work in an inn, either as a barmaid or a whore. I didn't think she will try to steal, since that might lead her being captured again (although since I didn't know anything about her past, I couldn't completely rule it out). 1st I went to all the blacksmiths I knew. No luck. I went to the Dibella temple too (actually found a priestess there who reacted to the Remote spell, thanks for the DD for the masses mod). So no luck again. After all these I read your 1st hint, which was the blacksmith one, so I googled the list of all blackmiths and went for those who I missed. I hoped it won't be a DG or DB smith. Finally I found the smith in Dawnstar. I checked the inn then but no sign of her. I went to the mine, no luck again. I was wandering in the town to look for places where she could work or get money when I accidentally found the 2nd mine with her (but I didn't expect her to work in a mine). Again, if I missed hints, then it is on me. However I would have liked more pointers of her whereabouts. As it was now, it was just a mechanical probing of all blacksmiths. Overall you made a great job, I'll check back periodivcally to see where you take this questline in the future. M
greyspammer Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 The immersion messages come far too often. That can be configured. Currently only via console but eventually, there will be a MCM GUI for that. And there is a bug in the current 0.06 release that messes up the timing. But that is already fixed. I didn't like the special bewerage mission. At least it had the options to make my character not like it too. Yeah, well. You're a slave. You're supposed to do what you're told. The Thalmor at the mail drop did not reveal themselves intentionally. They just arrived moments before you did. You practically ran into them. That is why Enaron tries to kill you: To prevent you from telling the Mistress about him. He was just about to enchant the barrel so he could trace every letter going through it. Your early arrival ruined that, however. As for dropping the letter in that discovered barrel: You do have a point here. The thought occured to me, too, when making the quest. Eventually, I decided to have you drop the letter anyway. You're a slave and the Mistress ordered you to drop all letters in their barrels. And that's what you have to do. You should be a good little soldier, do as your told and not try to think for yourself. Which quest are you referring to? The wine delivery or the searching for the Tower? The escaped slave mission was a bit hard too. That is intentional. This is the one quest I wanted to do where I didn't want to spoon-feed you everything and have you do a bit of thinking. You're basically supposed to play Sherlok Holmes. You know she'll need a blacksmith. That alone is technically everything you really need. If you wittle down the list of all blacksmiths in Skyrim, you will eventually find her. Everything else is just to speed up the search. You know she is wearing a very uncomfortable belt. So it is unlikely she'd travel very far in her state. Plus she only has a short head start (she didn't escape weeks ago but just recently). So she couldn't have fled far. She'd try to get the belt off as soon as possible. All this dictates that you start your search close to the Tower and then spiral outwards. There are 4 towns in vicinity of the Tower: Solitude, Dragon's Bridge, Morthal and Dawnstar. Morthal and Dragon's Bridge do not have a blacksmith. That leaves 2 towns to try first. At that point, it's down to a 50:50 chance to pick the right town in the first attempt. If that fails, you'll find her at the second town for sure. The "think like her" hint is another path to the same goal. You know she's smart, or else she wouldn't have escaped in the first place. How could she work as a whore when she's wearing a belt that she cannot get off? And she would stand out at a Tavern where she would be the only waitress - even if they were actually hiring. But among the miners, she can get lost in the crowd and hide her face under a layer of dirt. Dawnstar offers everything she needs: a blacksmith, safe work and it's close to the Tower.

You get the name of Broken Oar Grotto, but not the waypoint to it.

Hmm... ok. I suppose I could set a quest marker there. At least I can't remember if I had a reason for not doing it in the first place.
bahow Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Hi, very well made mod, I quite enjoyed it even if I'm not into rubber and gasmasks. Mail delivery and party quests don't seem to have any bad outcomes since you can't fail at them like wine quest. I hope you'll implement more sub scenes in the next updates. Also, does the Thalmor guy suppose to have more scenes that I missed, (Missed some events for the wine quest since I fast traveled after I got the delivery.) It is nice to see another quest mod
greyspammer Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Mail delivery and party quests don't seem to have any bad outcomes since you can't fail at them like wine quest. Partially true. The mail delivery can have a bad end if you loose to Enaron. Then you die. It can't get much worse than that, right? The party is complex enough, I did not want to implement a specific bad end. However, you can refuse most tasks which will keep you there. The only way to leave is to obey. I hope you'll implement more sub scenes in the next updates. Also, does the Thalmor guy suppose to have more scenes that I missed, (Missed some events for the wine quest since I fast traveled after I got the delivery.) There will be more sub scenes (and more dom scenes). Have no worry. Enaron (the "Thalmor Guy") only appears during the mail quest in the released version. He will however, become the main antagonist in the story expansion I am currently working on.
mutthe Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Well love this mod though i went from a ninja. To a sexy squeaky rubber ninja:P. As i read from people wanting enchantments for combat. Can you not just plug one of the devious helper plugs from cd and use the enonite harness. The harness melds some what in to the rubber. As i have read about not wanting to make armor on the rubber suits i was wondering what if you just made the armor count as light dragon armor and if pepole wants better they have to sneak away do their buisnnes and then just jump in to the carress of the rubber suit to not get discovered by misttres when they go to the tower. I also like the idea about debuffs when wearing armor for a long time. But if you make an mcm as i think you wrote you were making just make debuffs be able to be enable or disabled. Thanks for an awsomme mod found out i got a kink for rubber now lucky me ^^

Just my 3-and-a-half cents. (Or about tree-fiddy.)

mutthe Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I know i was thinking more than i wrote. Was thinking he could fluff armor as the rubber hardens when you get attacked since rubber enchantment is explaind as living and it can fix it self. as when it says it closes up after you try to cut lose. (Taking it off). I like the rubber suit but as many others have writen looks does not help much when you need some protection agains enemies. I woud love to have some armor on the suit but as i said my self i can sneak out and do what i want in any armor. And the go back but then im not wearing said rubber and im using the harness to keep the plugs in because then it looks like it is the suit doing it ^^

mutthe Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Sry for spamming my phone fucked up said i could not send the message so i tried again and now i see sevral of the same
greyspammer Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 The only thing I can promise regarding protection by the rubber suit is that I'll think about it when the story expansion is done and I start working on mechanics again. I never had any problems with the unarmored suits, so I have an honest question: Is the ability to enchant the suit yourself at an enchantment table really not sufficient?

For those who prefer to go in swinging, yes. There is no enchant to put armor value on something.
greyspammer Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Ok. I'm still not sure about the heavy armor stuff, but in the next version, the black gear will have armor values similar to leather armor. This is meant as a test. Depending on the feedback, I'll change it or apply it to all other color variants as well.

No problems there.
Kino1234 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Well, one thing is sure. DDi has been updated and the "devoius" boots are bugged... Keyword for boots have been changed in DDi Getting "No keyword found" error Also possibly change in slot, boots are now slot 37. Edited February 4, 2015 by Kino1234
greyspammer Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Well, one thing is sure. DDi has been updated and the "devoius" boots are bugged... Should be fixed in the next version. Sorry about the inconvenience. But I think it's safe to say that for once, it wasn't my fault.

greyspammer Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Another thing I noticed: It seems that the DD device hider is now by default (when you start a new game) set to use the hair slots. This will cause trouble with the gasmasks when loading a game. At least it did for me (gasmasks disappeared). To avoid this, go to the Devious Devices MCM menu, select "Devices Underneath (1)" and at the first option ("item slot"), choose "None (disabled)". Or any other non-conflicting slots, if you really want to use the device hider. That should fix this problem. I think "None" should be the default setting, since I assume most people don't want to hide the devices. And if they do want to hide stuff, they have to configure it anyway. So they might as well choose the slots used then. But that's not my decision to make.
Min Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Well, one thing is sure. DDi has been updated and the "devoius" boots are bugged... Should be fixed in the next version. Sorry about the inconvenience. But I think it's safe to say that for once, it wasn't my fault. Yeah, we had a duplicate keyword issue that was fixed in 2.9.0. Your boots were probably referencing the duplicate (hence the new error). I posted a few fixes for this in the development thread, so that you can work around the bad value being baked in to savegames. https://github.com/DeviousDevices/DDx/blob/master/00%20Core/Scripts/Source/zadSlaveBootsScript.psc#L5 Another thing I noticed: It seems that the DD device hider is now by default (when you start a new game) set to use the hair slots. So they might as well choose the slots used then. But that's not my decision to make. The gas masks in this mod are deviant from all other helmets that hide long hair; Most use slot 41 on the AA, rather than on the item itself, to hide hair whilst worn (Thus, resulting in no conflict for that utilization). See http://www.loverslab.com/topic/21484-devious-devices-integration-02022015/?p=1071470 for the rest of my response to this same topic.
greyspammer Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 With Min's help, I managed to find a way to remove the conflict on my end. The gasmasks now only use slot 31 and leave 41 to the device hider. This will be integrated in the next version and hopefully not cause any other problems. Of course, it only fixes the gasmask items from my mod. The originals from mxwqtkl's mod will still conflict. You still have to reconfigure the device hider there. Min suggested slot 54.
ShadowStrikeAssassin Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I've finished the Rubber Express - Wine Delivery quest (with the delivery intact) but I can't seem to start the Rubber Mail quest. Whenever I talk to The Mistress, I only have the dialogue option that says "I have some questions" and to which she responds solely with "not now, I will answer your questions after the party". What have I done wrong?
