Damn. My last guess would be Alftand then.

Since we've about run out of Dwemer ruins (on the mainland anyway) I have to say that yes, it is Alftand. If you complete the Dwemer ruin, stand in front of the access device to Blackreach and look back the way that you came, this is what you will see.

No, and no offense intended but you've probably never been here.

I don't recognise it at all, I guess I should do some of the main quests again. I would say it was from the base game since I have completed the DLC quests much more recently.

You are so right. I took a number of pics while I was going through, this was the first. I expect I will throw them up here intermittently in the future.

Back to my more "normal" twofer:

1) What is the named location highlighted in red, and

2) In what unnamed location must I be standing to take this picture?

I was going to say the Lady Stone but there is nothing high enough to give this view so Geirmund's hall and you're at the top of the Throat of the world, or close to the top.

Okay, you've got number 2 - I am on the path from High Hrothgar to the Throat of the World, near the top of the mountain. But, that is NOT the Lady Stone.

You guys are amazing - I've played close to 2000 hours but I can't even remember half the names anymore much less the actual locations being posted.

I can't tell you how to find the local fire department, but let me point you to (obscure Skyrim location). :)

Ok, this should be an easy one, although there isn't much to identify it. Plus it snowed each time I approached. I chose it because of 'importance'.

Spoiler

This is where the cart is at the opening cutscene. It's quite possible this 'route/road' was created entirely for just this purpose.

Ok, i just cleared weather and changed shot for location confirmation. Yes, that's the tower overlooking Dawnstar in the distance.
