Different NPCs in Solitude but couldn't find a cause/culprit. I, and many of the others, have Dawnguard vampire attacks turned off. I have got dragons turned on in this play though normally I don't.

Also, no offense to any Britons on this site, but the Isles and I don't get along. I was banned from visiting for ten years in '09 after getting caught in a sting involving an underground BDSM dungeon, a sub/bottom from Westminster, and a low-cal wedding cake. It's pronounced 'lem'. It was probably the low-cal wedding cake which did it. You how we British love tradition.

I was playing with a set of different mods than I'm used to so I can't tell you which it was (if any). I can list some of the things I messed around with about then though. Spoiler Simple Slavery Deviously Cursed Loot Prison Overhaul Patched there may have been some others I'm not remembering (getting to be a common problem) Anyway, good luck and hope this helps.

Not really a problem, more of a curiosity. I don't use any of those mods. Ja Ree has attacked me in every game since I reinstalled everything back in January. He's not a problem, just a nuisance.

By the way, how do you "turn off" the vampire attacks. I'm tired of having some of my more popular NPCs whacked.
worik Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 To get rid of unwanted events, I'd recommend "Timing is everything" https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38151 I let the action be, but use "NPCs protected" http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53602 to keep damage for the cities and my story under control.

I've console commanded essential a few whose untimely death really annoys me (Belethor and Adrianne especially) but, frankly I don't want all of them essential (sometimes I WANT to kill them myself). I'll check out the other, however.
worik Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 The trick with "NPCs protected" is that they are NOT essential. Being protected allows them only to be killed by the PC's hand ... so they won't die by "accident"

NO SCREEN SHOTS (I want the moderators to know that we know what the topic is supposed to be)!

I use Timing is Everything too and The Choice is Yours https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26359 You could also use The Manipulator which allows you to set NPCs as essential or protected on a case by case basis. A workaround for the Ja Ree glitch is to punch a guard and pay the fine. Not tried it but apparently it resets him.

Wouldn't think dragons would be an issue in the enclosed cities. I will sometimes have a dragon fly over Solitude (but not the other cities) but it doesn't attack or land as we're in a separate world space. 6 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: Ja Ree has attacked me in every game since I reinstalled everything back in January. With all this talk of dead NPCs, here's some live ones.

Last night I came at Solitude from Morphal and swam across to near the sawmill. Next thing I know I've got a hostile on my radar and Ja Ree is making a run for the city. Found him in the inn cowering so I un-essentialled him with Manipulator and killed him with my trusty currrved sworrrd. Nobody else ever bothers. If it helps, I'm in Raven Rock and have just stepped through that door.

That is the funkiest view of Broken Oar Grotto that I have ever seen. Maybe if you had more light...wait, the Lighthouse light is put out.

Psalam Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 47 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: We are not in Kansas anymore, Toto. We is in Raven Rock. Well, I did try Apocrypha. So, if it's Raven Rock what, in this picture, could help identify the site? While the Lemming's comment might otherwise be helpful I believe that what he identifies as dirt is the ever present volcanic ash (cough, cough). Barrels are common and even the urn on the left is not uncommon. That is THE door of Raven Rock for structures that are built of wood as opposed to the ones built of, what are they built of anyway? Ash, bonemold, chitin? I digress. The box and mead in the background don't appear to be any help either. That leaves the bedroll and the carpet on the floor and the fact that the character is in a wooden structure. That gives us Crescius Caerrillius' house, Morvayn Manor (not to be confused with Severin Manor and Glover Mallory's home. I know the Morvayns have a bed and I don't remember a bedroll in there for the guards. I'm pretty sure that there isn't one in the Caerillius' house either. I've been throughout Glover's home (after I found out that he was Sapphire's daddy), and although I don't remember one I would have to say that Glover's home would be my best guess (of course, I don't remember floating barrels anywhere). 16 minutes ago, Ernest Lemmingway said: Raven Rock Mine?
