I don't have vanilla inns anymore - for ages now. So I can't tell the location from the furniture.

But putting a kettle over a child hints a supremely annoying one - Old Hroldan?

This calls for a tour of Skyrim inns. That would be a lot of work but I might be able to do it. Winterhold has an inn (and fine mead) but the child there is a girl. Kynesgrove has an inn (with ale, no wonder they want Black-Briar mead) but no children that I can recall. Nightgate Inn has the Black-Briar mead but no children.

Morthal has an inn (I didn't stay for a drink-that Orc "bard" is awful) but no children. Markarth and Rorikstead have nice places and serve Honningbrew Mead but again no children that I can remember (of course, at this point remembering isn't one of my stronger points). Karthwasten doesn't have an inn (no wonder the miners all look grumpy). The bigger cities all have "taverns" but the architecture is different (and they insist that you eat something when you order a drin, can you imagine)?

That leaves Dawnstar and Old Hroldan. Dawnstar has a boy who (suspiciously) sleeps in the corner that is cut off in the picture. But he doesn't usually annoy the customers and dresses in green. This does indeed leave Old Hroldan where the boy in red is always about telling you that if you get drunk you're out of here (or was it "either I'm drunk or you're naked...maybe both)? Anyway, that was fun, I think I need to go somewhere and be sick now (maybe the tavern owners were right after all)>

Which inns mod do you use?

 

I'm going with Old Hroldan too. That's Asteria on the banjo and Gisli(?) on the far left. Both from Interesting NPCs.

If Inte's character wanted to be particularly mean she could whip out a warhammer and give that kettle a good clout.

Intriguing idea. I like your concept

My inns are ETaC in the first place and then some homebrew-merged-and-meshed snippets from various others. Without looking in my old notes I wont't be able to tell if I see anything  vanilla in an inn or not. I had a peak at Gopher's new SSE Let's play on youtube and was shocked how ugly and boooooooooring vanilla cities look like.

I'm using JK's Lite. Ugly and boring vanilla is one of the reasons I haven't bothered with SSE yet.

So maybe you relieve yourself from any troublesome residues into another kettle. Then, you put that kettle on the boy's head and keep the first one in standby for later use.

In the end, you should feel much better and even have the satisfaction to do something good for everybody....

 

Speaking of this: We already have some mods to take care for the unavoidable result of digestion. But are there mods just in case the 7th ale in the Bannered Mare did not agree with your stomach?

You know, that might explain why I have so much more trouble at the Bannered Mare than elsewhere. Maybe the warhammer here, too?

Maybe they could add the kettle to DD - Deviously Cursed Kitchen-Wear? Any child speaks and clang - kettle on head. Thinking about it, perhaps a goblet would be better.

Winterhold will have the jarl's son come into the inn with his father, but he's not there that much of a day.

 

Kynesgrove does have a daughter of the innkeeper who stays indoors (but the location is still ruled out)

 

Rorikstead has the daughters of Lemkil but they don't enter the inn with him. This either makes him a better parent than Korir as he's not exposing them to alcohol and drunken behavior or a worse father in that he's not letting them come out and socialize (its not like there is anything else to do in Winterhold, especially when the jarl and his wife don't even have their own kitchen or cook, and are forced to eat in the inn like common laborers and peasants)

 

I wonder how much of the game's lack of a teen model affects the apparent age of NPCs. A 12 year old bouncer at an inn makes as little sense as the 12 year old running the inn in the largest city in Skyrim (she volunteers at least, but gets shot down). The "adult" son in Kynesgrove sounds more a petulant 12 year old than some of the actual child model NPCs.  In any case, the "either I'm drunk or you're naked" lines only come from actual drunks, so it was probably you saying it to the kid, as there aren't any actual drunks in Old Hroldan.

 

I also mainly use the ETAC Inns, though I would like to figure out how to delete some of the inn interiors from that mod and use some others. I use some of Arthmoor's towns instead of ETAC's and prefer the E inns over the A layout for the most part, but there are a couple individual inns I liked but don't use since ETAC enhances so much more of the game.

I forget the POI name that my Atlas map mod gives it, but it is northeast of Morthal some toward Ustengrav.  There is a ghost that will show up at the Kjenstag Ruins to the west of this, and lead you here where you can kill two bandits that were apparently intent on looting the grave. Sometimes I've had the bandits show up without the ghost leading me and sometimes they're not there and I'm free to loot the place.

If it's this one then it's 'Ghost Barrow'. Just S of Dawnstar, not far from Stonehills?
