Can someone explain why people like UNP and 7base over CBBE?

CBBE is really the only viable option anymore, since so many of the 3'rd party DD mods that you'd need to actually play the thing are putting CBBE-exclusive content into their mods, and not providing any alternatives. So i guess you'd have to use that, nothing else is really viable with DD anymore.

Those of you with a bit of smarts can probably also guess why i suddenly quit devolopment of DDx after reading that.. ;)

That's only true if you use DD mods.

Still don't understand why people use those. "Oh gee, you know what the most fun thing in a video game is? Having any agency you as the player have taken away!" Sounds to me like the most frustrating thing you could be put through in a game. I guess it works if you're only playing the game one-handed anyway, which I suppose is what most people who use DD and slavery mods must be doing what with them turning their games into passingly interactive sex videos, but it still seems counter-intuitive to, y'know, playing a game.

I further don't understand why people still use CBBE. Before UUNP came out, sure, since Bodyslide was basically unchallenged in sheer versatility, but that's no longer the case. UNP and its derivatives can now do everything CBBE can, and look better doing it. People aren't stuck with a shit, subpar body mesh anymore. But they stick to it anyway, and even keep producing content for it. The only problem is UUNP is so late in coming that stubborn fools are gonna stick with CBBE just because it's established, ignorant (willfully, even!) that a better choice exists.

The previous paragraphs were entirely opinion and not intended to state or claim fact. Also I've binged a lot of Zero Punctuation lately, can you tell?

Heh I have used Cbbe  7b UN7b UNP UNPB ADEC and as of right now I'm using Cbbe why? because I can bbp armour packs and other custom content with minimal effort almost like plug in play and pretty damn convenient when you start modding over again but I digress because it seems to me like body mods are serious business I never understood these arguments. :sleepy:

Skyrim and FO3 are horrible games compared to Oblivion, FO1,2 (and even FNV) so they are used as a platform to run LL mods.

I get the feeling you didn't play much Oblivion if you think it's that much better than Skyrim. It really wasn't, it's the nostalgia goggles making you think that.

Spot on about FO3 though. The worldspace was more fun to explore than NV's but literally everything else was objectively inferior.

Outside of  the combat and leveling system Skyrim is not better than Oblivion and no nostalgia here because I'm playin it right now lol.

I use Sevenbase, but i don't like the visibility of the uv map/grid (nor SG nor RG textures seems to hide it) around the breasts (moreover with pale skins, and close to light sources). For example "Toccata" Follower (sevenbase natural option) looks like a walking uv map, with blocky/grid skin around breasts, when you come close to her...

Can you give me a fix to hide the sevenbase uv map under the skin, or tell me which other body has a better and more discreet breasts uv map?

thx !

Personally I like the slightly darker skin color and it just seems more attractive to me comparing it to CBBE which I just switched over from 1 day ago nut I do miss the fact that there are better addon mods for CBBE.

Why are people who should in theory be at the forefront of understanding all this stuff still carrying on this argument that's already been made obsolete in every way by having UUNP in bodyslide?

Shouldn't discussions now be about the best add ons and/or best mods offering further customization to bodyslide? I could only see the UNP vs CBBE argument having merit for someone now if they just want to say they prefer the aesthetics of one over the other...which nobody should even be petty enough to bother with, right?

It's not even about "choosing a body type" anymore...people do realize this right?

Not everyone wants to spend the time to "learn" BodySlide, even if it's the easiest thing that ever existed.

They want a body that works, looks the way they want and has conversions that can all be installed with one click.

That's why BodySlide or similar systems will never fully replace static bodies and conversions, no matter how supported it is.

And this is coming from the person who worked on it since 2013.

tl;dr threads like these are still useless.

Get that...I guess I just had a misguided kind of notion that those people were "there" (nexus forums, most nornal skyrim internet communities) not "here" (Loverslab and specifically this forum more or less dedicated to modding in a way to get things as sexy as possible with less regard to difficulty (percieved or real) involved)

And besides my idea still stands because at the end of the day arguing about an obsolete point is what it is.

I might have a good, even the best argument with someone about how DVDs are better than VHS or vice versa but is it worth it to express it now days when you can stream 1080p movies on a home theater PC with no discs involved whatsoever?

You wanta da big titties or da flatty chesta???

Well, CBBE dosen't really allow for the same customizability as UNP in terms of shapes and sizes.

Sure, CBBE can go bigger. But remind yourselves that there are people who like flat chicks too.

UNPB 4TW!

CBBE is actually the most customizable out of them all (and now UUNP). ESPECIALLY for slim/flatness. :)

I've been using UNP HDT-PE and while using the newest Groovtama skeleton and the newest RaceMenu I can run it from bone thin to more voluptuous than any real woman. And I don't have to deal with BodySlide or that CBBE body that looks like an inflate-a-date.

no.. UNPB 4TW!!!

Pink has something in common with CBBE it is ugly.

Hm, that does look interesting.  I'll try it later.  Pity it's compressed with no folders whatsoever... Got to wonder what are these people thinking sometimes.

Nothing a good old fashioned drag n' drop couldn't fix! What the creators had in mind is making the packaging more convenient for users.

I am aware of how to install mods xP  Convenient would be actually having the file structure in, so mod managers can install them.  As it is, I had to create the folders myself.  Sure it's not a BIG deal, but it gives the impression that whoever packed it couldn't care less.  Plus, I seriously doubt most people know where these files go xP  And this is as offtopic as it can possibly be xP

If a player doesn't understand file structures and paths, he/she shouldn't be using mods. If it was a curriculum, learning file structure and file paths would be Kindergarten alphabet lessons.

As for the original question, now that UUNP exists I can have what I've always wanted for my female toons: a Dream Girl base with slightly larger breasts and a ton of armors that can be converted to fit it with Bodyslide 2.

I no longer have a reason to go anywhere but UUNP.

I'm a bit late here, but I've used CBBE and 7Base and there's a difference: you CAN'T make athletics bodies in CBBE

You CAN make athletics bodies with CBBE...  ;)

Just use a fitting BodySlide presets and the right textures.

Here is a athletic body normalmap for CBBE:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13377/?

Trust me Caleb, I tried making athletic bodies in Bodyslide and RaceMenu for weeks, but they always look too thin. That's because arms and legs don't have that shape. I'm not saying CBBE is bad, in fact, is possibly the best, but it can't make athletic bodies.

AND MUSCULAR BODY DOESN'T ONLY MEANS NORMAL MAP

You know Poo (or was it boo?) there are also slider for arms and legs and if "100" is still too thing you can use values like "140" or "200".
