Can someone explain why people like UNP and 7base over CBBE?

The thread,it lives again! The more one feeds it,the longer its inevitable return to the grave is delayed. Oh,well. I may as well feed it a few more tasty opinions to keep it from getting too peckish.

 

My own reason for preferring UNP and Seven-base over CBBE (which I used for the first month or so that I had Skyrim on PC):

Schlongs of Skyrim's UNP add-ons work best with UNP derivative bodies plus I like the UNP variant of the Khajiit Body Replacer better than the CBBE one. The UNPK armor replacer is one of my favorite armor replacer sets,as well. That is about it.

 

Other than that,I could take or leave whatever body type is available depending upon my mood for what I want to see female NPCs use since I use Race Menu or ECE to drastically change what the protagonist's body looks like,anyway. 

 

If there was a female equivalent of the Shape Atlas (SAMantha? Delilah?) which would be just as adjustable in game as that body for male character is(and includes its own phallus,of course) that doesn't conflict in any way with SAM,then there would be little point in choosing between these body types,anyway.

'cause some people generally prefer erotic over fullynude/porn content. And a pair of boobs packed in a dress or a bra looks more appealing to them because they can't see everything but only parts. And it looks better with poses for some people.

I tried CBBE, proportions were a bit exaggerated for my taste but for a while it seemed like it had the most support so I said eh, no biggie. Couldn't be bothered to mess around with Bodyslide.

 

When UNP gained more traction I switched to that; I liked the shape better and some of the texture options appealed to me more than the ones available with CBBE. Plus I feel- and this may be completely untrue but it's just what I've seen- like there's a greater diversity of armor and clothes available for UNP. Not just more stuff in general, but a greater range from skimpy to non-skimpy. Not every day is a bikini day for me.

 

I'm not messing with my Skyrim install right now but maybe one day I'll get real picky and futz with textures and meshes and skeleton edits to get that *perfect body* myself. Highly unlikely this will ever happen, but i can dream...

I like orange juice over apple juice...

I like Chocolate Milk over Beer (never really was a beer drinker... give me liqueur over water strained thru weaties any day).

I like Goldschläger over other Cinnamon schnapps (due to it's higher proof, but I'll admit the gold bits do make it look cooler as I get plastered).

I like UNP over CBBE for vertices count.

I like the UN7B body over other bodies but I like the Demonfet shape (huh what am I talking about).... since I couldn't have both at the same time I made it.

I like spending hours at a time mucking around in outfit studio, tinkering and breaking shit... most of the stuff I do is never published...

 

But sometimes, just ever once in a while I'll put something out... like Unified UNP or Converto the 55 or so bodies to CBBE (kinda the reverse of unified).

And Yes Unified is currently undergoing a rebuild. Oh I might even figure out how to change the Halo high poly hands and feet at some point to match the vertices count on the wrist and ankle seams of Unified's base shape.... maybe (probably more to do with dividing the poly then just adding new vertices, or a combo of both... will muck with it again tomorrow in max).

 

If you like the CBBE textures, then stick with CBBE it comes in all the bone types from no bounce all the way to HDT.

If you like the UNP textures, then stick with what ever UNP setup you want... maybe the creator of your favorite body type will update to the newer xpmse skeleton or maybe they wont...

If you like UNP stuff and the latest XPMSE skeleton and just feel frisky... give Unified a try (surprisingly enough it works, most of the time).

 

So you might have heard that Unifed UNP uses a CBBE shape as the base shape...  yep it does, and I did that for a reason (body slide 2 armors sets are all in a cbbe shape so yeah strip out that body, toss in unified and build to the unp body type you want... kiss method simple).

Yep the base shape is a CBBE shaped body with 6850 vertices and uses a UNP skin UV Map (probably because it started life as a Bombshell 1 mesh before I ran it thru Gerra6's KGtool kit)...

Does Unified support CBBE sliders... actually it does... all but 2. One is the groin slider (didn't make sense on the unp side) and the other is the hidden large to small seam slider for cbbe users ( that slider flips the 1 weight neck, wrist, and ankle seams on the cbbe body to a 0 weight seam). The small seam slider would break most of the UNP body morphs that I include in Unified (like all of the low weight body morphs) so it is not included.

 

So do I like CBBE or UNP... kinda both actually... can't I have my cake and eat it too?

honestly i ONLY like 7B due to it having the tbbp animations integrated into the mod. i switched to 7b from cbbe due to tbbp/bbp conflicts that caused me random ctds (and yes i quadruple checked that they were all properly installed), but am now giving up on the tbbp/bbp stuff in favor of just using the hdt mods that are out and about. but i agree with one of the posters on the first page or so that i don't see much point in having 1000 different body mods when cbbe can literally make all the others and then some, but thats just my opinion.

I played with CBBE going back to my Oblivion days and, strangely enough for a female, I actually like playing the busty amazonian heroine (think Druuna more so than Wonder Whats-her-face).

 

But I don't know Bodyslide.  Haven't put any effort into it, and in Skyrim I found that CBBE breaks the geometry on too many armors.  Bear in mind that this may not be the case so much in the last year or two, but back 4+ years ago there weren't that many choices in Skyrim.

So I went with UNP and there I stayed, happy as a clam in shit.  Then I tried 7Base and I'm liking it even better.  My current girl has the kind of body I would have to work for 2 hours a day, 7 days a week and risk tendonitis all over my body.  Most custom armors just fit right on without a hassle.  I love my 7Base, though maybe at some point I'll work up the interest and energy to build a CBBE girl again.

I have been using CBBE TBBP for basically my whole Skyrim time, while some armors mods make me wanna try UNP and 7B, but if I have multiple body mod installed will that cause any conflict? I mean how would the system choose between mods, since I kinda hope to try out all on one save without getting in any trouble and settle down with the best I could have tried. Thanks

Use a custom race then put UNP or 7B into that race's mesh and texture file folders. Then only the PC will have that body and everyone else will still have the CBBE body.

You could use one of the multiple body systems like the Body Change mod. It keeps everything organize without any conflicts for you via MCM.

Actually, this custom race is my main save so to say, and she has CBBE, although that can be changed. Thanks for the tip

I started out with UNP, then when i heard about Body slide i switched to CBBE.

 

I was all excited to make my character have a custom body (i love customizing everything).

 

Then... after short lived excitment, I realised all the UNP armor i had picked out before hand was available for CBBE! Yay? I thought so at first. So there o go downloading all my armors happy and excited to see how they look on my awesome new body.

 

When i started trying them on my dreams were crushed. Every single Armor i wanted DID NOT come with CBBE bodyslide compatibility! So no matter how i made her look in Bodyslide the armors turned her back into the massive boobed default CBBE shape! My customization was useless!

 

So i went out tirelessly scimming the web for bodyslide enabled versions of all my armors. The only one i found was the Tera set, but its my favorite so i thought maybe CBBE will work after all.

 

Well turns out when they converted tera armors to CBBE they didnt do them all (my favorites ones were missing) AND the ones they did convery were LESSER QUALITY! i hate to ruin it for anyone, but try on the original Tera unp armor, then try the CBBE converstion. The textures are all flat, looks like bad cosplay versions.

 

Then to get those CBBE with bodyslide meant even less of the armors! Amd still bad textures mind you.

 

So back to UNP I ran lol

 

The clothes look so much better now. No more default CBBE boobs popping up when i put armor on lol

 

Do theres my story lol

 

Its a real shame too, because i feel stuck with one body either way.

In the end it was the Tera Armors that were the deciding factor.

 

My favorite body is Dream Girl, those smaller arms and wrists are awesome! But no one makes armor it =( i have no idea why, its been out a long time too.

It depends on where things go mod wise for me. Here's my post from another thread where this is talked about.

 

 

I think it's all personal preference and how you play your game. I started out Cbbe then went to UNP, then to UNPB then to 7B which I still like the best. But my skyrim game is more deviant in nature and when DD got the latest updates it starting to look like UNPB/7B are getting left behind. I know Shocky makes DD conversions for 7B but he doesn't support Expansions which I like. Also, since strides have been made with realistic vaginas I switched back to CBBE to give that a shot and it's not 100% perfect but I'm happy with it. Plus I can use all my Devious mods. I know there's always a pissing match over bodies, not just on LL but all over the net when it comes to this. My answer is experiment and use what body works best for YOU and how YOU play your game. If you have to switch down the line, it's alittle time consuming but it won't kill you either...JMO

 

 

Since this post Stevierage has released his working vagina for 7B but until someone converts devious expansions for 7B I'm staying where I am but if someone does that I'm back to 7B. I wish I had the skill level to do it.
