DD seems to initialize fine and isn't throwing out any errors or warnings (that are relevant to your problem). My best guess would be some kind of control confusion: the key for the contraption menu is set to whatever is your KB&M "activate" key when you get locked in the contraption. If that somehow gets a different key than what you actually use to activate stuff in game it won't get re-mapped until next time you are locked in a contraption. But tbh, that seems very far-fetched. I'm afraid I'm at a bit of a loss here :/. Does this happen on every contraption? Does it happen if you start a new game, or only on an existing save? If you're not on MO I'm guessing you're using Vortex? I've never used Vortex myself, but I believe that it also has means to check for file conflicts so you might be able to check that.

I have MfgFix, MfgFix NG, SL Smooth Expressions, Conditional Expressions, and Conditional Expressions Extended. I have DD 5.2, and DDNG 4.1. I'm on SexLab P+ 2.15, and AE 1.6.1170 The conditional expressions play as expected. If I equip a ZaZ Gag, I get facial expressions. But when I equip a DD gag, the mouth stays shut. Is it working for other users?

Thanks! Turning Smooth Expressions off didn't do anything. I guess it's time to give regular Sex Lab a whirl in place of SLP+ (I really hope it's not a 1.6.1170 problem, because I'm pretty deep into this modlist; I'd hate to start over with 1.5.97 again). Do you happen to have a good list of patches/ utilities to add to Sex Lab? Last I installed it, I recall having some version of SL Utility, SLATE, a grass patch, and a furniture framework (and SLAL, of course), but I think they were accumulated over a long period and I don't recall exactly what they were. If you have a satisfactory setup, I'd love to copy your notes.

I investigated the grass patch and furniture framework but I chose not to use them because I was worried about compatibility. I haven’t ever looked into SL Utility or SLATE. Sexlab is slow to start a scene, and it redraws grass outside, but I’m okay with it. 1

Is it working for other users? Issue fixed. Update for others who may run into the same issue: Face expressions with gags work perfectly fine once I saved and reload. My problem was I started a new game as part of my testing routine, found the gags didn't work, then tried to troubleshoot the issue. 2

That being said, I'm getting semi-consistent crashes or freezes, and without fail my final entries in Papyrus0 are "[Zad-NG] UpdateControls( )". Literally every singly log after a crash or freeze has that as the final entry. Does anyone know what exactly [Zad-NG] UpdateControls( ) is and if it could be the culprit behind my stability issues? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks in advance for any advice. "[Zad-NG] UpdateControls( )" is just DD enabling/disabling player control flags (e.g. fighting, activate, etc). Happens every time a device is equipped or unequipped, sometimes in other cases too. It is almost certainly not the cause of your stability issues. If it's consistently the last entry, there might be another part of DD or something DD-related causing issues. It's also possible that it's animation-related, since usually when controls are updated animations change. For crashes you should really be looking at a crash log instead, and perhaps try having the crash log analyzed. DD also provides contraption "kits", misc items that when dropped spawn the contraptions. They're a bit finnicky, because they usually don't place exactly where you want them to, and you can't pick them back up at the moment, but this should improve next DD NG patch. To my knowledge though, there is no shop mod that sells the kits yet, nor (I think) are they craftable. Would be a nice mod for someone to make. For now you'll have to grab them via the console or an add item mod.

If you want contraptions in-game: Cursed Loot and Devious Curses spawn them for traps POP adds stocks to cities (and breaks your game) Binding lets you place contraptions in which your owner may lock you for some time. Ages ago t.ara made a very first mod to use the contraptions, Riften Restrictive that places some contraptions in Riften. LE only, put it through CAO yourself if needed.

It seems there's a rain/snow weather specific yoke animation that's seperate from the default animation, and I am wondering if there is a way to make the rain/snow specific animation the default animation? I have an animated gif/webp but I can't attach it for some reason, and I have no where to upload it.

It interrupts every other action, making shouting and thus Shout-focused builds completely unusable in a pitched fight. For example, I was unable to use Dragonrend on Alduin during the fight at the Throat of the World, without exposing myself and dying just after. Had to use debug to remove it, to be able to actually do anything. I was trying to disable all DD-related out of breath animations in OAR, but that doesn't seem to affect this device at all. The animation will play regardless. How can I disable it for this device? I really like how this new harness corset looks but I hate how it makes shouting a non-option.

Apparently, they look exactly the same and function about the same. It would be great if the boxbinder (hidden arm) look something like this from Devious Device Equip (See attachment). Is it possible to include this device on our next update?

Easiest is probably to do it via the OAR menu: Spoiler Open OAR menu -> user mode (top right) -> DD to OAR v2.0 -> Cold Yoke -> disable the conditions marked in red by clicking their checkbox -> save submod config (User). I think that should make those animations always replace the default yoke ones. If that indeed is baked in and I knew which script that is (assuming a pointer to this script is indeed in plugin data) I could just make an overwrite without it.

My first instinct was to post "that can't be DD doing it" because I had never seen it before but no, it's in the DD 5.2 scripts, zadShoutStaggerEffect.psc. I admittedly did not check the ESMs, so it's technically possible that it's an unused feature that DD NG restored, but I don't think that's the case. You can make an overwrite for that, or modify the corset enchant to remove the stagger effect, or modify the stagger effect to not use the script (this one's probably cleanest and least likely to ever conflict).

I looked at the DD NG OAR folders (wonderful work, by the way) but didn't see anything collar specific I could copy.

Should be IsWornHasKeyword: zad_deviousCollar (Devious Devices - Assets.esm ID "3DF7"). All DD collars should have that. 1
