Not really CDPR's fault, but I can imagine how that might sour me on a subject. Well it is CDPR's fault as Steam "support" told me that they where 'externally hired moderators by CDPR'. So that makes CDPR accountable for the moderators actions; And if CDPR can't keep the mods that they hired on a leash, then CDPR get the big ol' blacklisting.
FauxFurry Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 This video goes over some of the hows and whys of this relatively recent turn-around. 1

Well both on my old and new rigs my experience with 2077 looked more like the following. First at 20FPS, then at 70FPS. But still not great.
Wandering_Mania Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 This vid explains why and/or how the 'hate train' of it got started; And shows off exactly how CDPR delivered a true 'Cyberpunk experience', but it was in a reality based form. The lesson of the day: Never trust the corporate lies spoon fed to you.

That's what I have been trying to tell people for years. I find it so baffling that people continue to buy into hype so hard. They ALWAYS do this. You can't trust what companies say in their marketing anymore. I would be more willing to give a product a try without waiting for reviews first if they were more honest in marketing, but "hey guys we had to rush the game to meet deadlines so it is a little unfinished but we are trying to fix it as best we can!" is not exactly going to sell preorders. Things like "Best game ever!" "Revolutionary!" "It just works!" "Millions of planets to explore!" tend to be red flags for me. Although pretty much everything a triple A dev says in their marketing is a red flag nowadays... So I just wait for reviews and gameplay footage on youtube before buying into anything. Fallout 4 was the last game I preordered, even though I still had trust in CDProjekt red I did not preorder cyberpunk.
johnwnorton Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Have any1 of u infos regarding adult mods for Cyberpunk? I mean, the Company promised us a City full of Sin as they teased the game ("endless possibilities", "NPC´s 24hour unique Daily Routine", and so on). I wanna go into a nightclub and grab some girl or male for my V with the possibilietes of SexLab from Skyrim. Is that finally possible now?

There are a few mods on the nexus, but nothing of the 'caliber' that would only be allowed here, rather than there. And I kinda doubt there ever will be something like SexLab, or AAF, made for 2077. Simply because of the borked Red-engine that 2077 uses. Even CDPR is abandoning it, as far as I've heard. 1

No tons of buttons to remember. Interesting- I got through the tutorial but gave up after several hours (literally, 5 or 6 hours straight) trying to get through the first mission after the car chase. I used an Xbone controller on my PC and, as @pinkfluf said, found that there were just too many buttons to remember. Also, while none of my shots penetrated the ambient desks, tables and other things the baddies used as cover, their shots easily penetrated everything I used as cover except for the walls when I ran out of the room to try to regroup and recover health. That was about 2 years ago (right after launch). I didn't rage-quit, I cry-quit and haven't touched the game since then. I have absolutely ZERO desire to even check to see if mods have fixed 3rd-person, or enabled OP guns or infinite armor or WTF-ever since then- The game beat me like a gong and that's that. Celedhring Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 I've had the game since it came out and resumed playing after 1.6 and having a blast. And motorcycles IS the best way to get around. Really love being a sniper especially with the Grad and Overwatch sniper rifles and nearly always play with the Nomad start. Did I mention that the Panam storyline is an absolute blast too? XD
fred200 Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 (edited) Seriously - if you have not played in the last two years, at least watch some post-1.6 videos of game play. It is not the same game. Except for driving - which it does very well - third person is not my thing. So I can't address that. Even two years ago, I did not do much shooting. Most of my interactions were with quickhacks. Have to love Contagion. Clear an entire room - and never get shot at once. Have to add - motorcycle for me too. Edited October 9, 2022 by fred200

It is not the same game. I last played it on Jan 17 of this year. That was the day I also got with with an unjustifiable Steam hub ban for a PM, and the day that CDPR got put onto my blacklist. As I refuse to even play games from makers that are on that list, even if I already own or have access to a copy, algorithmic tracking/advertising and all that. That was just after I got my current rig that I am using now. Now I will admit that some things have gotten better with the game itself; The fact that their moderators on Steam are so abusive of their power, doesn't make any difference in the support of a company that allows such things to happen.
fred200 Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 I am confused. Your issues with Steam moderators seems to have nothing to do with CDPR. CDPR does not control anything Steam moderators do, and vice versa. And there is no responsibility either direction. So how are they connected?

And I quote from the Steam "support" ticket that I submitted in an effort to reverse that unjustifiable ban: "They use externally hired moderators. And we [(Steam support)] do not go against the actions that they use..." Then Steam "support" proceeded to tell me that I should use the "appeal comments" on the ban itself to attempt to reverse it; And attempting to use that before I contacted Steam "support" was how I got the ban in the first place. So, externally hired moderators, that where hired by CDPR placed the ban, and where in fact under the control of CDPR. Thus it's a CDPR problem for not instructing them of the Steam moderation guidelines, and thus they(CDPR) are at fault. Hence the blacklisting of them. All I did was state opinions of dissatisfaction, in a polite and non-rule breaking manner, such like I posted the same here in previous posts; Got a warning for doing that, used the "appeal" comments on that warning. And they banned me for a PM. And that's how they are connected.
fred200 Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Did some browsing on the Steam forums. I could not find any good definition of the Moderator organization. I guess it is just as well that I have never participated in those forums.

Most of the time, the developer/publisher of a game, that has a hub linked to it, will have their own pool of moderators. And if they 'opt-out' of that option, it falls to Steam "support" to do it. Some hubs have mods that are absolutely 'power mad', others have mods that are pretty lax. But when Steam absolutely refuses to enforce their own guidelines, and give the companies carte blanche; It only goes to make both Steam/Valve and the company in question look bad.

There is a team of Global Moderators that can take action on any hub, including ones that are moderated by the game's publisher, but they tend to stay out of things unless it is particularly egregious. I have seen some steam hubs with pretty abysmally bad moderation, like the Naval Action forum... They banned people for legitimate criticism of the game, it was ridiculous.

Well, let's see I have been banned on the following hubs for legitimate criticisms, or reasons stemming from: CP2077 of course, as I explained. Endless Space 2. Last Epoc. Saints Row 2. Necromunda: Underhive Wars. Picture Perfect (this one is an 'AO' game). Maybe a few others, but those one I have a direct memory of. So yeah, some game companies on Steam are literally 'running rampage' over the consumer's opinions; And to hell with the consequences, because Steam does nothing to stop them.

Finding good sources of independent well thought out and detailed reviews of any game is quite hard. Your experience is one reason. AS a result, it take me sometimes quite a long time before I pull a trigger on a game. I was gifted this game and to be honest based on my enjoyment of Witcher (not even a type of game I usually like... magic and swords... )I would have likely bought it pre-order anyway. This was because of the games they had and history they had up till that time. Not due to the quality or potential of the game expected. That was a rare situation for me. Other games, pretty much have to have game play and quality reviews before I buy. (since Fallout 4 was released)

Fallout 4 was the last game I preordered, even though I still had trust in CDProjekt red I did not preorder cyberpunk. Seems that way with many entertainment venues. First the pioneers build something out of love and passion, it grows into a great scene with many creative people, then the no talent ass clown MBAs who only see dollar sign come in and "make it better" reaching a new fan base that doesn't know any better and voila, you get crap that the great many say "wow this is neato" while the OGs (Original Gamers) get told they are either "haters, <insert your favorite>ists, and not important." Now new games like "Elden Ring" promise something but seem to be targeted to the short attention span crowd. I have not heard much buzz about it since its release, however that may be just me not looking for it. I still have cyberpunk loaded up on my machine, but haven't moved much past the first mission following the intro mission, just didn't "grab me". 1
Whizkid Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 i enjoyed the story the most in cyberpunk, its not a sandbox game or even an rpg game, but that story telling was great, pity it was too hyped that people hate it lmao.... sure there are bugs etc... to each his own my 2 cents. 1

I just hate the people behind the game that decided to go... Well, 'full retard' (pardon my crudity), for the lack of a better term; When they where dealing with people voicing discontent with the product that they basically falsely advertised. I mean the game was okay, when it ran smoothly. It wasn't the 'next best thing', but it wasn't 'bad' either. But the method that it was advertised, hyped, and spammed lies about how it 'runs surprisingly smoothly on older hardware'; That was just unacceptable. And when they started outright hitting people with bans simply for voicing discontent... Well... They might as well just move their studio to North Korea or China, I'm sure they would fit in better there, with that kinda crap.
