TheRightDoorIsNotTheLeft Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 As the title says, I'm curious whether users of Lovers Lab mods play completionist games. Not just specific to the LL mods you have installed, but also to the rest of the Skyrim quests and collectables. E.g. becoming Thane of all holds, grandmaster of all the guilds, completing all the DLC, etc. At the same time as I have a few LL mods installed, I also have Legacy of the Dragonborn (despite the fact that team has an apparent aversion to LL and won't support it), Royal Artifacts, etc., etc. Just curious if I'm the only one.

Syrim is a trash game, I only play it to fap so I don't care for vanilla quests. If I play real rpgs like every other Elder scrolls game I try not to miss any items. I wish there were some adult mods for Morrowind in the new open source engine. Oblivion just keeps crashing with mods from here so I don't use any. I don't see the appeal of LotD that mod seems so fetishizing it feels weirder than LL mods.
深淵の神 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I stop doing the vanilla quest like 4 years ago because skyrim vanilla game is so 2011 for me... and even so I'm still playing (rarely) occasionally the game because of this awesome mod community. I recently tried to play the vanilla game but the truth didn't work for me, the story no longer attracts my attention, much less the mechanics of the game, for me the combat system is still obsolete, even with all those amazing combat mods nowadays. I must say before triying Skyrim again I have tried Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen (another old trashy game) and I must say Bitterblack Island is more addictive with those combats every time you finish you feel that you have achieve something epic, and I'm not gonna get into comparisions about those dragon combats but I'll just gonna say after returning to skyrim it was a tremendous meh. But even so, Skyrim is still in my PC and I don't think I'm going to uninstall it anytime soon, thanks to this site haha
travelmedic Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 You are not the only one. I also love Legacy of the Dragonborn and always load up most of the optional quest mods that are supported by it. To me, there's no reason we can't get a little OCD about wanting to complete everything and collect all the goodies, while at the same time having a little adult fun doing it. It really bugs me that the LOTD team turns up their nose at LL so much, there's no reason LOTD and SL mods can't peacefully co-exist side by side.

donttouchmethere Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I can't resist to go the completist way. For Skyrim it also forces me to have a longlasting setup and have to watch out for incompatibilities. Last LO I overdid it and wasn't able anymore to play EVERYTHING (probably would have taken me 2 years to do every single thing mods have to offer). Time is the limiting factor now. I feel an extencial crisis coming up ?

worik Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I'm playing the game as an RPG. Meaning that it usually does NOT fit into a consistent story to be everybodies Thane, master murderer, master thief and hero of that idiotic civil war while saving Nirn from Alduin at the same time. LL mods or not make no difference. Spoiler There are still quests that I have never played and places that I only visited in the CK

Evil lol I just can't resist any NPC -.- NPC I: Hello o/ PC: Hi what's up? NPC: I have a quest for you, can you go shopping for me in that city on the other side of the map? I'm all out of potatoes. PC: But of course! I have one right here... ? NPC: No No they have to be from the farthest away spot from here. PC: Oh, okay, makes sense. Let me check my quest planner. So, I have to kill a dragon here, some quest item from that bandit camp over here, Molag Bal called me for something and Sanguine ran out of drinks AND slaves again. Might need to do a quick excurse to another dimension for the vigilants and find more out about some dwemer artefact. I will be back in a month or two. NPC II: Hello o/ PC: Yeeees? ? NPC III: Greetings. PC: What quest? ? Guard: Hey, no lolligagging. Show me your licences for all that stuff you're carrying. POP Bountyhunter: *cough* Do you have a moment? Follower I: I'm bored, can we visit the next tavern? Follower II: Hey, you didn't pay me for the last two hours. AAAAAAAHHHH ?

chaimhewast Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I enjoy completionist games, but my LL-modded games tend to be more focused on the LL mods than collecting stuff.
ttts1 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I do, but depends on the mod list. I have a male PC aggressor with a much smaller mod list (~150) that I just completed everything with. The LL mods are mostly in the background turned off or really low. For example, PC arousal locked at 0. But slavery mods, devious devices, and such mods that really trap the PC? I have no idea who would possibly have the patience for a complete game with all those running. The MO2 profiles I have with them in the mod list never really complete any vanilla quest other than maybe becoming dragonborn or small NPC quests.
Guest Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Yeah, after spending last few months getting Oldrim's LL setup up-to-date, I'm now starting a Legacy of the Dragonborn playthrough. This mod runs you through everything, trying to collect all the goodies that might be out there. LL troubles (Horrible Harassments, Simple Slavery, Public Whore, etc) just make it even more interesting. Add in things like No Fast Travel and only 2 followers, as well as slowing leveling, it means I'll be at this through most of 2022.
Papitas Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I'm quite curious. Why do you say LotD developers don't like LL mods and won't support them? It's not like any LL mod breaks LotD or something. And it's not like many LL mods add items that are worth collecting. You really sparked my curiosity xD
FauxFurry Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I did get 100% or the achievements on both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of 32-bit Skyrim as well as re-collect all but one for Special Edition. That is close enough, I would say.

LL mods are close to the anime side, while LotD is close to the cabbage side. Hence the animosity. It is more a user thing than a author thing, though.

Hate to agree with the Guy who keeps calling us vainglorious Diva´s, but I think he´s actually right on this one. I´m myself currently on a 400h+ playthrough with LotD, and I don't have a single LL mod installed. LotD is so ridiculously well integrated into the game and the world, that i keep asking myself "is this a vanilla thing or a mod thing?", you really cant tell sometimes. So in short, its about immersion. On the other Hand, if we look at Cursed loot for example, get this: Guard catches you for a crime, and as a punishment equips you with a full metal chastity belt and bra. First of, that shit would be expensive even by our modern standards (Look it up in the online sex shop of your choice). So I need to suspend my disbelief to a point where I think:" Yes, its completely normal for a Guard to carry that shit around and give it away to some random criminal, knowing full well that this will cost him a months wage." For many (including me) its just not possible to perceive the stuff in most LL mods as something that actually belongs in this world. And i would wager that this is true for most LotD developers as well, therefore no integration of LL stuff.

Yeah, trying to explain to myself why my Character is a Slaver and why he likes to bound people is easy enough, but explaining to myself how int he world he is able to craft things out of rubber and why Belethor´s selling him Things out of it? Nope.. I have no freaking idea if i ever being able to explain that to me without saying "magic" I never actually played LotD but it does sound extremely interesting to me. ? But i've never been a complitionist myself. Archivement hunting isn't fun to me

Or the pinnacle of utility when it comes to player homes. No matter your play-style, you're missing out on something by not having this thing installed.

I've been reading their Nexus comment tab for years and I've seen enough to infer that at least most of the team has a personal dislike of LL.
