I was knocked out by a powerful bear, woke up to a Bandit telling me to hand over my valuables and said no, he tried to kill me, I was in bleedout when he hit me and I CTD'd. Now I can't load any instance of that save. No worries, because I wasn't fond of that save because the story of the character didn't go as intended. I'll just try a new save in a little bit. Also, yes I installed DA-YMOYL when updating. This is a problem with DA, not with Prison Overhaul. Call me lazy, but one of the many good reasons not to build my own death alternative system, was so that I wouldn't have to support that too. Anyway, keep your saves safe, create new saves all the time, don't save over the old ones. That way you can go back to a non crashing save when you need to.
xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 I decided to try out the Prison Overhaul today, and for some reason pillory animations aren't playing. I get put in the pillory, someone comes over saying they're gonna do stuff to me, then nothing happens. My character returns to an idle animation and I'm free to run around punching people in the face while sex sounds play from nowhere. The console claims to be playing a sex animation, but I don't see it. I have all the correct dependencies. Prison overhaul is the last in my load order. It's a clean save. I've tried doing it about 5 times now with the same result every time. Sounds like you didn't run FNIS or correctly install Zaz Animation Pack.
xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 First off, Great mod! I have a question on your whip mark timing. You note at the start to adjust this to set fDecalLifetime=300.0 in the skyrim.ini file. I tried this, setting it as high as 21000.0 and it only seems to be extending the time of the floor splatter. Which is nicely immersive, since no guards are coming in with a mop to cleanup, but the skin marks vanish in a cycle no matter what the setting. Am I adjusting the correct setting? I haven't experimented much with this, so I couldn't say.
xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 I got problem. The arm restraint still not wear when player wear a plug from devious device mods when the guard take the player into the jail and vice versa. Yes, the items slots on DD are not compatible with the ones from Zaz.

A note to those using MO, you need to edit the skyrim.ini & skyrimprefs.ini files within MO to get the effects. They do however completely disappear on a save/load, so they do not carry over from a save game. But now I have a new issue, and sorry if it's been addressed. After a "whip" scene in jail my character is stuck to a spot. If there's a sex scene she's freed from the "stuck". This isn't so because, hey I'm in jail it's not like I can go anywhere anyway. The issue crops up at the end of the sentence with that last beating. After that I'm lead to the edge of town, given my stuff and I'm free to go. Only I'm not, I'm stuck like in jail;unless I can quickly seduce the jailor before they walk off. But after putting up with their abuse I'm not really inclined to do that. In the latest version of Prison Overhaul, there are options for unsticking (teleporting to the jailer and so on). Try if any of those can help you get out. You may also want to use the "forced ai" trick: startQuest xpoForceAi stopQuest xpoForceAi
xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Im running V026 and im having serious bugs when getting arrested in Whiterun: as soon as I reach the pillory place and getting put into it, then my character AND the pillory start to move! it usually end in front of city main gate. then, half the time when people passing by and have fun with my character, the pillory disappear after the animation end, but im still wearing the gag and I cant access my inventory/spell. also the jailer doesnt come to pick me up anymore when night come. and I never succeeded to get the whipping animation to run, even after setting it at 10 in the settings. I have tried to reload several time (at least 10) different savegame before being arrested, I always have these bugs happening. I ran BOSS to try as much as possible to avoid mod order loading problem, but it didnt help. anyone else experimented thing kind of weird effect? This could be a mod conflict with some other mod with a higher quest priority overriding player ai. Hard to debug though. I haven't seen any of those myself yet....

This is an old file from previous versions of zaz animation pack. Remove that one, and make sure Zaz is upgraded to the latest version. Make sure you've run FNIS.

I can't do anything except look around. I hear an npc enter the cell but nothing else happens. Does this happen all the time? Sounds like you somehow managed to escape just when a scene started or so?

And if your character is powerful enough to do that even with Requiem I think there's no way you'd go to prison against your will anyways ah I didnt say in the city itself, I was talking about the main road that goes along the city. after all the game kinda expect you to be able to survive a fight against several bandits, otherwise you would die all the time, I dont think thats really being godlike. but it is true im not playing at the hardest difficulty. what I mean is even a single kill may have consequence even if there is no direct witness, for example guards may have followed your traces, or used magic, ot whatever. Limiting the bounty only when there is a direct witness is too restrictive. also, even if I play in a harder level, all it will change is it will be more difficult to kill one or more people, meaning more time, more strategy, more potions, etc, but if there is still no witness, no bounty... I recall seeing mods that would eventually catch up with you if you were stealing from someone's house and so on. Can't recall the names, but there are ways to get a bounty even without any witnesses. Not in the vanilla experience though, but with mods .... I was thinking of adding a check for items stole with no witnesses, but it's for some later version. Wanted to get v27 out first.

Does this mean someone who likes to RP may not know who is coming to have some fun? It means that in Whiterun, for example, instead of your PC facing towards the center of the marketplace with the butt towards Arcadia's, your butt is now facing the marketplace with your face towards Arcadia's. So if you play only in the first person view, yes, you wouldn't see who is approaching you. You wouldn't in real life either. The pillory pretty much prevents seeing behind you, so .... if you like to RP, you're in for a surprise.

xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 xpoMain will say "yes" only once you have been arrested and the main quest is triggered. have you been arrested ? yes, multiple times, both from punching a guard right in his fat face and also from using the "arrest me" button in the mod er...I just tried it again in white run, and it worked, so nvm! does it just not work in winterhold or something? It's disabled in Winterhold and Markarth, because those jails work differently. I may fix that at some point, but it's not been the highest priority.

Thats how fast forward works dude so that's not a bug, it only skips the current transition (i.e from jail to pillory, from pillory back to jail etc) not everything I can see how this is not what one would want, but it's the way it's designed. I'll change it when I next work on this mod (taking a break from PO now for working on ZAP stuff).

Screenshots of new content. I was hoping for a bridge patch between SD+ and XPO, but now it looks like that isn't needed. Are you expecting any conflicts with the SD+ bounty hunter event? Not really. I've deliberately not touched the vanilla bounty hunters, because SD modify those.
xaz Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 I managed to get my PC arrested in Ivarstead, fast move to Riften, and the entire prison sequence played as expected. So it looks like your Riften fix worked! A couple of minor nits: 1. The first 3 of 6 whipping animations in the marketplace, and the one administered by the jailor in the jail, did not play. Same thing as reported before, the character with the whip assumes a whipping stance but does not draw a whip, the whipping animation does not play, but the sounds do play. 2. The cross that you moved did avoid the idle point that the jailor likes to stand in, so that's a great improvement. But the cross seemed to intermittently sink down into the pavement a little bit, then pop back up, making my PC's boobs bounce. Unfortunately this happened a lot, except during punishment animations. Hard to say what isn't working. Is the character not equipped with a whip (either in hand or sheathed, like a sword)? That is usually the reason for the animation failing to play. I'll raise the X-cross slightly and see if that helps.

No, they just use strapons only when needed.

I just read through the code, and it's not supposed to do anything when you use the tanning rack. No other lines in the log? I doubt that PO is running anything on you either. If in doubt, try equipping an item from Zaz Animation Pack, then unequipping it. Prison Overhaul has no mechanics of its own to bind or immobilise the player, but uses Zaz for all that. If in doubt, try uninstalling both mods and see if the problem persists. You can also try checking the "disable effects" checkbox in Zaz and see if that works.

They were easier to follow than the instructions provided in the mod I just added 4 quests in SD+ to trigger enslavement, rape or visits to Sanguine's dreamworld as DA scenarios.

Vbarding Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I'm seeing the same thing with the tanning racks and other crafting stations, where it plays the animation to start using the station, and then immediately exits. Upgrading to the newest version seems to be the only change that is triggering the behavior, removing the update and going back to the previous version, or removing PO altogether both seem to prevent and fix the issue after it has occurred. As a note, it doesn't happen immediately after updating, I have to wait a while for the issue to appear (it seems to be after a day or two in game). Something I'm noticing and wondering if it is related is that it seems to always happen after the update triggers the bounty hunter quest. Not sure if they are really related or just a coincidence, but that's the only other thing I'm noticing that changed. Additional notes 10:27am: Disabling the ZAZ affects from within it's mod configuration doesn't have any impact. I also think these lines in the Papyrus are red herrings, at least with respect to actually seeing the problem with the crafting animation:[03/23/2014 - 10:22:45AM] [Zad]: [ObjectReference < (0010D85E)>] contains blocked keyword [Form <CraftingTanningRack I receive those messages both with the updated version and the previous version of PO, but I only have the crafting problem with the updated version. There aren't any other references to the TanningRack beyond these in the log.

If you have have Defeat installed, try using it`s Clean option in the MCM, that have been working for me whenever I had the same issue.
