Clangeddon Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nothing happens for me. I get arrested, disarmed, led to jail, and then when I get there everybody just stands around and nothing happens. Any ideas on why nothing is happening? And before anybody says "Well, y'know, if you used a clean save..." this is the first install on this mod (can't get any cleaner than that) Did you get to the point where the jailor tells you to get in the cell? I find that sometimes I have to manually move my character into the cell at that point to continue. Also, if you have one or more followers with you in the jail you can sometimes get into a traffic jam where the game can't figure a path for the jailer to move so that he can lock you in the cell. Also noticed in the MCM menu that once arrested, all my earlier 'specs' revert back to default. is this normal? **Updating** - I've gotten this to work for me in Whiterun, but now the MCM menu itself is MIA...awesome mod though - absolutely makes going to jail fun :-)

On the other hand, now there's a good reason to behave in Skyrim, normal jail time didn't really do much.
RJLbwb Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Argh burble Good mod, but Skyrim's plot trains and gate keeping - started a new game as a bandit, get caught by the guards and hauled off to Riften were it all went south because the crap you have to do to open the gate the first time and then the prison. Had to go back a save, do all that before I could let my self be captured. Sigh

TheOnlyLite Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I was trying out jail-time, but after my character got whipped, she just got stuck trying to walk to the jailer. I'm not sure what she was doing, but it's in Dragonsreach Dungeons and she got stuck on the stairs. The jailer is just standing at the front of the cell with the gate open but my character can't reach him. Edit: I do have Lydia with me if that helps.

When the guard takes you out of the prison it also freezes when my character is about to leave the prison. Don't know if this is an error on my part or not.
xaz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 I installed the new version and DID NOT do a clean save - so if I should have, please disregard the rest of this post. To see what had changed, my PC attacked a guard in Whiterun, submitted and was taken to jail. Observations: 1. On being marched out of the jail to the market for public punishment, my PC was somehow transported to the market immediately, while the jailor was still up at Dragonsreach. She then ran back up almost all the way to Dragonsreach to meet the jailor, but did not then follow the jailor back down. Instead, while the jailor continued his walk to the marketplace, my PC suddenly appeared in stocks near the top of the Dragonsreach steps, then slowly floated down towards the market, clipping through the scenery until she finally ended up below the level of the market. At this point I reloaded my last save and had her sent to jail all over again. On the second trip this problem did not happen. 2. When she arrived at the stocks (pillories) in the market place, she was positioned so that her butt stuck out towards the center instead of towards the apothecaries shop. I assume this is what you meant by repositioning the stocks, and I think this is a much better way of doing it. Bravo! 3. During interactions with citizens punishing her (and in between being bumped by the jailor), the pillory moved a little, but then tried to snap back into place. This worked most of the time, but once the jailor was in the way and led to the pillory bumping him and getting pushed back, until he moved. So this is much better than it used to be, but still not perfect. It might not be possible to fix it entirely, so I appreciate your efforts to get it as good as it is now. 4. Once back in the cell, she was whipped twice by guards and once by the jailor. She was chained up all 3 times (3 different ways, by the way, I liked that), but the whipping animations did not occur and no marks appeared on her, although the sounds were played. This is not what happened in the market place, when she was whipped there everything worked as expected. All in all, a brilliant mod that I hope will continue to improve even more. That first thing, I have no idea. Not see it myself. I guess if for some reason the two actors are out of position, then this can happen. Good that you like the position change. I can't believe it took me like 26 versions to figure that one out. I think the snapping is due to many scenes being controlled by SexLab. I could attach the actor the same way before starting SexLab, but odds are that could cause other problematic effects.

In Tes5Edit, look at Location-> 00018A58 (RiftenLocation) Prison Overhaul seems to overwrite 3 Actor Cell Static References from Hearthfire. I'm not even sure if the other ACSR are even forwarded, and there appear to be a lot in hearthfire. *EDIT* It appear this is a conflict you can ignore. http://forum.step-project.com/topic/4468-tes5edit-which-record-types-dont-need-conflict-patches/ ACSR conflicts are automatically combined. I don't have Heartfire, so I can't check on this. Sounds like it's not too serious though...

If you don't know what I'm talking about check the troubleshooting section on the first page of this thread. It tells you what you need to install for this mod to work.
xaz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Greetings, I am using Prison Overhaul for more than six months and i and had no problems with running it. With the last 2 versions however, when it is time for the Jailer to get me to the Pillory, the Jailer opens my cell door, puts the cuffs on, but then the jailer just stands outside of the cell. I tried the Fast Forward option to teleport to the pillory but it doesn't work and just remains checked on the MCM options. I tried this with a fresh new game as well and still have this issue. Any clues how to fix this would be greatly appreciated as this is one of my favorite mods. This sometimes happens because pathing fails, there is too much traffic and so on. Does it always happen or just sometimes? It is possible to move the player to where (s)he needs to be, but it requires some console commands. For the next version, I'm going to add in options for moving the player to the various markers and so on that the game uses. That should make it easier to solve problems like this.

I wait long long. no thing happen. I fast forward, no thing happen. I quit main menu, go last save. crash my desktop auto I configure v026 wrong? I return v025, error said upgrade error, reported 260, expected 250. Got save picture hope help understand. I'm not sure if I've seen this before. There is an option in MCM to restart the mod, ... try that one. Upgrade error comes when you downgrade, I think. The mod doesn't expect that.

I was thinking of adding the Shell Bondage clothing to the drop down menu that is in the MCM but i dont know where to start. I thought about just over writing the Prisoner Rags file with the Shell Bondage, but I get a weight problem since its not linking to my HDT Body and Bodyslide. Any advice or Can I bribe someone to add this to the mod. Much love It would be really cool. If he allows it, I would gladly include Shell bondage in ... well, every mod. That said, I'm not sure it would fit well thematically. Edit: Hey.... maybe the easiest option is to just create a "custom" category. Either let you copy your favorite mesh in there, or let the mod scan what you're wearing the put that on you when in jail.

You can also uninstall and reinstall PO, with a save in between, for it to start working again (hopefully). Use that as the last resort, though. Uninstalling mods in Skyrim isn't 100% safe.

Can you access Prison Overhaul in MCM? If so, then try the "restart" option there. This typically happens because Prison Overhaul fails to start. If that doens't work, save your logfile and append the last 50 lines (or so) and I'll have a look at it. (Ask google if you're unsure on how or where to find the log file.)

This Solitude thingy is actually a conflict with Inconsequential NPC (iirc, 3DNPC.esp, in any case) where records needed by Prison Overhaul are overwritten. Place Prison Overhaul after 3DNPC in the load order, and Solitude will start working again. This may break some quest from Inconsequential NPCs though. Not sure which one though ....

Is this an issue or expected? No, this is quite fine. Prison Overhaul uses daymoyl if you have it, but if not, it's safe to ignore. What it does is that if you're knocked down by someone in a crime faction, and you have a bounty, they will arrest you and haul you off to prison.

Many have reported that they can't progress at this point specifically, so I'll see what I can do.

Yes I can and I did this and while it did start later on, it was delayed, I saw some other people using this mod and it was almost immediately. Well I don't know if that's how its supposed to go, but that's what happens in my games. Does the entire game freeze (Ie. you have to kill TESV.exe and so on .... )? Yeah with both the black screen and the freezing before exiting, I have to kill the process. It works if I "fast travel" with the MCM options but that's no fun.

Place Prison overhaul after that one, and you should be ok in Solitude as well.
