trellouk Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Greetings, I am using Prison Overhaul for more than six months and i and had no problems with running it. With the last 2 versions however, when it is time for the Jailer to get me to the Pillory, the Jailer opens my cell door, puts the cuffs on, but then the jailer just stands outside of the cell. I tried the Fast Forward option to teleport to the pillory but it doesn't work and just remains checked on the MCM options. I tried this with a fresh new game as well and still have this issue. Any clues how to fix this would be greatly appreciated as this is one of my favorite mods. This sometimes happens because pathing fails, there is too much traffic and so on. Does it always happen or just sometimes? It is possible to move the player to where (s)he needs to be, but it requires some console commands. For the next version, I'm going to add in options for moving the player to the various markers and so on that the game uses. That should make it easier to solve problems like this. It sometimes happens when it is time for the Jailer to get me to Pillory, other times when i first get arrested the Guard walks to the jail path but Fast Forward does not work again, and the "invisible leash" that drags me towards the guard doesn't seem to work too, so i can just wander around in the city in cuffs, though i am unable to talk to people or activate doors and items and have to reload my last save.

This Solitude thingy is actually a conflict with Inconsequential NPC (iirc, 3DNPC.esp, in any case) where records needed by Prison Overhaul are overwritten. Place Prison Overhaul after 3DNPC in the load order, and Solitude will start working again. This may break some quest from Inconsequential NPCs though. Not sure which one though .... Just to clarify 3DNPC.esp is Interesting NPC's (there is a separate mod called Inconsequential NPC's) Ok, ... hehe, ... I'm quite sure of the esp name though. Place Prison overhaul after that one, and you should be ok in Solitude as well. In my current playthough I do have Prison Overhaul loaded after Interesting NPCs, and the jailing works as expected in Solitude.

I was knocked out by a powerful bear, woke up to a Bandit telling me to hand over my valuables and said no, he tried to kill me, I was in bleedout when he hit me and I CTD'd. Now I can't load any instance of that save. No worries, because I wasn't fond of that save because the story of the character didn't go as intended. I'll just try a new save in a little bit. Also, yes I installed DA-YMOYL when updating.
Cocein Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I decided to try out the Prison Overhaul today, and for some reason pillory animations aren't playing. I get put in the pillory, someone comes over saying they're gonna do stuff to me, then nothing happens. My character returns to an idle animation and I'm free to run around punching people in the face while sex sounds play from nowhere. The console claims to be playing a sex animation, but I don't see it. I have all the correct dependencies. Prison overhaul is the last in my load order. It's a clean save. I've tried doing it about 5 times now with the same result every time.
orgs1n Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I had the same issue in v25, but the new v26 seems to have fixed this. In v26, the pillories in Falkreath have been reversed. Maybe it had to do with NPC's getting stuck due to no room? The situation still occurred once in v26; perhaps one NPC got stuck by another? At least I was then able to run into an inn, reset the mod (menu option), went to punch a soldier in the face and was led through the whole prison sequence normally: being walked to the pillory, abused there, led back to the cell, more abuse, then release. Thanks for your work, xaz! It is being used, and we're loving it!
Azn Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm royally pissed off with this version, maybe it's conflicting somewhere with SD+ or Populated Roads or something, maybe it's just Morthal, but the entire thing has been buggy as shit to the point of unplayibility. After getting arrested, the fast forward pretty much broke right off the bat by putting me in the cell before getting to the jailer and then trying to get through the door to reach him, even forcing me to try to pick the lock repeatedly. After turning off fast forward and actually getting IN the cell, the friggin game kept crashing way too often after animations. Only about 1/4 of the time, but still annoying. And for some goddamn reason, every once in awhile the guard just locks up like when FNIS hasn't been run, even though I've ran it. And after dealing with all THAT crap, when I finally get 'released' the fucking retarded jailor takes me outside to release me, which is broken now, since there's a vampire attack out there every single time, and after it's dealt with, he tries to go back into the prison without releasing me before the goddamn dragon attacks and I'm fucking stuck there unable to do shit. Why the hell he only releases me outside, I'll never know. And the only thing I can do to solve this is force PO to restart and then use the console to unequip everything. I really enjoy this mod for the most part, but I think I'm going to turn it off for the time being, since I'm absolutely livid with it right now. It's still an awesome mod though!

You note at the start to adjust this to set fDecalLifetime=300.0 in the skyrim.ini file. I tried this, setting it as high as 21000.0 and it only seems to be extending the time of the floor splatter. Which is nicely immersive, since no guards are coming in with a mop to cleanup, but the skin marks vanish in a cycle no matter what the setting. Am I adjusting the correct setting?

I have fDecalLifetime=900.0000 in my skyrim.ini under Display section and its working fine (note, skyrim.ini, NOT skyrimprefs.ini! Edit the one in documents/games/skyrim folder, not the ones in game folder itself). Also if you google decal options you will find numerous tweaks if you want more persistent wounds/blood on your characters, I used em before but kinda dont remember them off top of my head now.
Morferous Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 ... That was a polite post, if I have ever seen one. Vampires only attack between 21.00 - 05.00. Your character should be in prison during that time, or freed before 21.00. It seems to me that your in-game clock is messed up. Almost all your problems - including troubles with fast forwarded guard moves - point to that. You might be using a time altering mod, or have fixed INI-files affecting to your game.

A note to those using MO, you need to edit the skyrim.ini & skyrimprefs.ini files within MO to get the effects. They do however completely disappear on a save/load, so they do not carry over from a save game. But now I have a new issue, and sorry if it's been addressed. After a "whip" scene in jail my character is stuck to a spot. If there's a sex scene she's freed from the "stuck". This isn't so because, hey I'm in jail it's not like I can go anywhere anyway. The issue crops up at the end of the sentence with that last beating. After that I'm lead to the edge of town, given my stuff and I'm free to go. Only I'm not, I'm stuck like in jail;unless I can quickly seduce the jailor before they walk off. But after putting up with their abuse I'm not really inclined to do that.
permidion Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Im running V026 and im having serious bugs when getting arrested in Whiterun: as soon as I reach the pillory place and getting put into it, then my character AND the pillory start to move! it usually end in front of city main gate. then, half the time when people passing by and have fun with my character, the pillory disappear after the animation end, but im still wearing the gag and I cant access my inventory/spell. also the jailer doesnt come to pick me up anymore when night come. and I never succeeded to get the whipping animation to run, even after setting it at 10 in the settings. I have tried to reload several time (at least 10) different savegame before being arrested, I always have these bugs happening. I ran BOSS to try as much as possible to avoid mod order loading problem, but it didnt help. anyone else experimented thing kind of weird effect?

I often see the pillory disappear after the animation, but it has always reappeared after a little while. I have also set the whipping animation to 10. In the market place NPCs will play the whipping animation about half the time for me, the rest of the time they just stand there and the sound effects play but there's no motion or whip marks. In the jail I get the jailor whipping also about half the time, but I've never (in the current version) seen the guards do the whipping - same thing, sounds play, but no animation or whip marks appear. I have not seen the pillory sliding to the main gate or the jailor not picking me up to free me. I have the xazPrisonOverhaul.esp next to last in my load order, only MF_RadiantProstitution.esp is after it.
permidion Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 the "moving pillory" bug may have been caused by the "Apropos" mod.I tried again after disabling this mod and the problem didnt happen again,I still have to confirm this though also, disabling "Defeat" helped to prevent concurency between the "prison overhaul" animation and the "defeat" animation, especially when getting arrested, not all guards stop attacking you after the dialog to get arrested is displayed (which has more to do with Skyrim base code I think) also, in Whiterun prison, I was always put into the same cell as the fucking madman, which, beside being utterly annoying with his diatribe, is in the way and cause pathfinding problem both for the imprisoned character (you) and the jailer and/or guards when they come into the cell. I solved that problem by sneak-killing that asshole (if you dont sneak, the guard notice it and you get arrested while being arrested, isnt it fun? well no because that mess the whole "prison overhaul" scripting) also, after punishing you, the stupid guard tend to stand in front of your cell, getting in the way of the next guard or jailer when the next punishment is triggered or if you are moved to the pillory. I solved that by using setPos x/y on the standing guard to move him some distance away from the cell door. so, if the "moving pillory" was effectively caused by that other mod, I think I succeeded to get a working "prison overhaul" experience in Whiterun not directly related to "prison overhaul", but is it just me or it is ridiculously difficult to get a +1000 bounty? I mean, I went all around Whiterun, killing everything in sight and leaving behind +50 corps of civilians and guards and whats not and all I had was a 40 gp bounty. I had to explicitly kill some guards near the Whiterun stable and leave some peasant witness. Do i have to say I had to send back the follower I had because he was also attacking the peasant witness? (since Skyrim consider afraid bystander to by "hostile" and hence target for the follower...) as it is, it's pretty much possible to kill thousands of people (as in not monster, bandit, forsword, draugh, or whatever else is considered normal target) and not even get arrested for it :/ is there some way to make it harder to kill someone without being arrested? as it is I find it too easy, and I dont exactly see the point of going into prison only when you really really really REALLY want it

And if your character is powerful enough to do that even with Requiem I think there's no way you'd go to prison against your will anyways

I haven't gotten around to testing it yet, but I did see this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24187/? It does look like it will help you with your bounty "problem". The description does mention that it changes the prison outfit, so there is some chance it will conflict with prison overhaul, but hopefully making sure prison overhaul comes after this in your load order will take care of it.

And if your character is powerful enough to do that even with Requiem I think there's no way you'd go to prison against your will anyways ah I didnt say in the city itself, I was talking about the main road that goes along the city. after all the game kinda expect you to be able to survive a fight against several bandits, otherwise you would die all the time, I dont think thats really being godlike. but it is true im not playing at the hardest difficulty. what I mean is even a single kill may have consequence even if there is no direct witness, for example guards may have followed your traces, or used magic, ot whatever. Limiting the bounty only when there is a direct witness is too restrictive. also, even if I play in a harder level, all it will change is it will be more difficult to kill one or more people, meaning more time, more strategy, more potions, etc, but if there is still no witness, no bounty...

permidion Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 An update: Disabled all mods that add extra npcs, guards etc. 1.39 framework first, then 1.35 v025 plus patch for 1.39 (only for 1.39) None of the following have a chance if any Devious Devices equipped. One guard will arrest, about half the time the remaining guards will aggro. If I get lucky and no aggro: Cell scenes proceed with the exception of whipping (character with PHANTOM whip just stands there), toon will writhe moan and whatever for duration of animation that isn't playing - same as always. Pillory animations are - - - bizarre.pillory disappears, assume defensive posture, sometime pillory doesn't come back. When pillory doesn't disappear, it still moves around a lot. If you use "Wait" to bypass pillory section and get releases, next arrest sequence is guaranteed aggro from guards, unable to surrender. As for aggro issue, I thought wth, maybe it has something to do with combat surrender, tried again without Submit, Defeat active. Same results. Maybe Brawl Patch CE - same result. Then I noticed something. When only one guard was in vicinity, that one would accept my surrender. When multiple guards in vicinity, one would accept surrender, the rest would remain aggro. EVERY TIME. Without fail. For that at least, something is not being applied to all relevant actors(guards). Almost like the surrender is in a "Do While" loop instead of a "For Next" ok, it seems im not alone with these issues, I should have searched more carefuly before asking about them. my bad
