While disabling isn't working, I found a workaround by increasing the bounty amount to 10K (up from 1K) to stop spawning the hunters, and can confirm that you can use all the crafting stations normally then.

update on the cant-sit/cant craft bug:

 

I succeded to get the bug without triggering any killmove animation, though it does take me more time to "catch" it and I dont see anything happening that would trigger it ingame.

(triggering a killmove animation still cause the bug to appars 100% of the time though)

 

as it is I have no idea anymore beside something thats getting triggered as soon as the bounty pass 1000 (ie triggering the bounty hunter) and then take x time before causing the bug to appear.

 

by the way, the bounty hunter always kill me. isnt it supposed to arrest me ?

Bounty hunters do not change anything around sitting specifically. Are you using any killmove mods or similar?

it is not related to sitting in particular.

 

not being able to sit (or work at the tanning rack, or use the enchanting table) is usually a side effect of an animation affecting the player that has not reseted/finished correctly.

 

in this case, the new version of PO seems to interfere, I dont know how, with the base animations (like the killmove idle)

 

this is the same problem as reported by other users some days ago, but they only talked about the tanning rack, while it is more general than that.

Yes, I have sexlab, run FINS but no pillory or pillory animation  (no spanking or else) for me. Whipping in jail works. Can sit, swim, mine ore, so those anims are working right.

What;s wrong?

(Well, I have 2 mods wis pakes plces in Falkreath and Whiterun. I'll try to remove them

When those animations should be playing, do you get sound or so? Ie. is SexLab appearing to run but the actors just stand still?

 

Is there output in the console during this? Typically it would be something like "IsChild >> 0" or so.

I will probably say something silly, but maybe the bounty hunter animation somehow tries to run at the wrong moment and fail and cause the bug?

because the bounty hunter doesnt stop before killing me, while it should arrest me, which is I believe one of the new animation?

Yes,  SexLab appearing to run but the actors just stand still and yes, I have sounds

and yes, in consloe is xpoSpanking (for example)

but no animations, exept for whipping in cell

 

FOUND IT!!!

 

Dear xaz, please, write in the readme or description that Prison Overhaul is incompatible with Animated Prostitution mod

 

When I unchecked it everything  works!

Did some further testing, same setup as before. Started game with Live a deviant life, set minimum bounty to 10K before leaving the initial cell, and stated on highest difficulty, meaning you have a 5K bounty. After getting free I parked myself next to a tanning rack for easy testing. Up until now I could use it without problems.

 

I then lowered the minimum bounty back to it's default 1K, tried the tanning rack, and could still use it. A quick check of debug section in MCM showed xpobounty as 'no'.

 

I then waited for 1 hour (as in, pressed T, not just sat around). After that I immediately checked debug in MCM and xpobounty was now 'yes'. I then tried the tanning rack, and the bug was there. No combat or anything had occurred in between the lowering of the setting.

 

After that I did the Force Restart in MCM, and after checking that xpobounty was at 'no' again, I found that I could use the tanning rack again without issues.

 

Conclusion: something in the bounty hunter quest/scripts which is only active when they are actually running is what is causing the bug.

 

Combat has nothing to do with it as far as I can tell, it's just a matter of timing between when you go over the bounty limit, and when the quest/script starts running. I don't know on which events this update occurs, waiting is apparently one, and something with combat might be another.

 

Hope this helps track this thing down.

 

On another note, I also use a mod called Crime Bounty Decay http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51247/?, which should lower your bounty over time, but that no longer seems to be working either with 027, though it did work with 026.

I installed the new version and now, as soon as a bounty hunter appears, I cant sit anymore (or any related action like that, like the tanning rack or the enchanting table). I tried reloading several time a savegame when I can sit, then I goes kill some guards, get a high bounty, everytime this same bug is happening. If I dont kill any guards (and dont get any bounty), I dont have any problems. also, are the bounty hunter supposed to kill me? because thats all they do, they dont arrest me. Do I have to install another mod?

 

edit:

I made some more tests, and it's more subtile than that:

 

If, after getting a bounty, you trigger a "killmove" idle during a combat, the bug appears.

 

To be sure, I started from the same savegame:

 

a) after loading the savegame, I roamed an area till I could trigger a "killmove" idle, no bug

 

b ) after loading the same savegame, I killed a guard, triggering a 1000 bounty, then I roamed the same area as a) till I could trigger a "killmove" idle, the bug appears

 

c) I uninstalled PO, then did exactly the same as in b ), no bug

I got this issue too with the newest version with BH's enabled, its not just sitting though its any similar action, like enchanting, potions, sharpening weps, none of them can be done, and also the BH cant be disabled from start of game if u start game with a 5k bounty ie. hardest setting on deviant life, as soon as you spawn into world the BH is on his way to you, whether you disable him or not. No idea what causing it to stop certain vanilla skyrim actions I don't use any kill moves or anything and as soon as I disable or back date this mod the problem goes away. So imho deffo something to do with bounty hunters.

 

Edit: Thinking about it, it's as if the player is under constant aggro while a bounty is on them.

 

I found it. Actually happens to me sort of all the time, .... apparently I assigned an ai package to the player when the bounty hunter chase quest starts. It's not running all the time, but when bounty hunters triggers it starts to run.

 

Anyway. Stop this quest and the quest to scan for bounty with

stopQuest xpoBounty
stopQuest xpoCrimeScanner
I also fixed the issue with the bounty hunter quest not properly disabling.

 

If you don't want to stop the scanner, just set the bounty ceiling to 10k gold or something similar, as was suggested earlier in this post.

 

I think I've fixed both issues now, but I'll make some finishing touches on other things I'm currently adding.

 

Thanks for all bug finding and keeping the description of problems clear (at least as clear as they appear). It helps a lot when debugging skyrim.

 

I had no idea that assigning ai packages to the player was an issue with sitting animations (since the player is not ai controlled at this time, or so I thought). :)

It takes 1h in game time to trigger the bounty hunters. I really should make that longer and/or more random, because it's a bit too fast for townspeople to find and hire someone powerful enough to take down the Dragonborn.

 

I think it really depends on the game difficulty if you win or if you are killed. Unless by always you mean that they attack you without a dialogue option?

 

Otherwise they ask you to surrender first, and only when you refuse will they attack. If you have DA installed, they'll bring you back to jail.

Yes, that would certainly have helped me track it down. "Unfortunately" I solved it before I got to reading this post, but thanks for a very well written analysis!!

 

I haven't used the crime bounty decay mod, but I'll check it out and see if I can find what's breaking.

yes, but I had the 2.6.2 one when I tried your version 027, would that have been the problem?

I think DA means Death Alternative, the mod that XPO was made compatible with.

DA is optional (I'm not using it) but since I fought and killed the only bounty hunter I've seen, I'm not sure how the BHs are supposed to work.  We'll probably have to wait for xaz to tell us.

DA is Death Alternative. Handles player death and has a plugin system. Of course, the bounty hunter thingy will only work well if that is installed or you can get the dialogue.

Bounty Hunters work (or should work) like this:

1. You're approached by a bounty hunter.

2. They ask you to surrender.

2a. If you do you're arrested as if you surrendered to a guard (probably a longer walk, but still).

2b. If you resist, they attack you.

 

If you're killed by a bounty hunter and have DA installed, they'll arrest you anyway.

 

That's the plan, at least ...

But the Bounty Hunter attack me immediately, no dialog is triggered at all .

 

I will install DA this evening and try again.

For some reason I can't upgrade successfully after making a clean save, but I can upgrade when I don't make a clean save..

 

The log in game says expected 270, reported 000... Not really sure where I went wrong as I made a clean save and followed all instructions to the letter.

Man ! AP is incompatible with SexLab Framework itself ! Of course it won't work with SexLab mods !

 

Prison Overhaul uses SexLab, so anything not compatible with SexLab will also not work well with Prison Overhaul. Is this the case? I have never tried AP ....

Hey, this mod is working great for me for the most part. One thing though, when I get arrested in Riften (and in some other places as well) and I select the 'I submit, take me to jail' Dialogue option, nothing happens, the guard just walks away as if nothing happened.

 

EDIT: I've been testing this a bit, to see if it happens with other characters, and what I've found is this: when I log on to an alternate character and try to get arrested in Riften the mod works as it should. However, on those characters the mod doesn't function properly in other cities. IE On my first character if I get stopped in Riften and select the submit option nothing happens, the guard just walks away and I'm basically free to go, while in Whiterun or Falkreath the mod works properly. On other characters Riften works fine, while some other cities (whiterun, Falkreath or others) don't; the guard just walks away. I've tried loading older characters or starting new ones, and it's the same in those cases too; for seemingly no reason, certain cities work, and certain cities don't... not really sure what's up, have uninstalled the reported conflicting  mods as well.
