This has the markings of an incomplete or overwritten installation. The walls are vanilla meshes and textures; there's no reason for them not to appear. The crux and x-cross are from ZAP. As far as I know, they're present in every version from 7 onwards. Missing dialog is usually due to not having Fuz Ro D-oh or to using the wrong version (the latest "SE" version is for AE), but something could have broken this mod (you are having multiple unusual problems), thereby breaking its dialog. All of that aside, a mod should work with a BSA or with its files extracted. If it were me, I'd start with figuring out why basic things like walls and ZAP furniture aren't appearing with my setup.

Well the missing stuff and other problems in the cell are likely caused by some conflicts - when I unpacked the BSA it prompted to override some 49 existing files. To be clear - I was never expecting it to work properly with unpacked BSA. So the fact it doesn't is not that big of a problem for me - I can probably deal with it later if I wanted to. What's much more relevant is the crashing when the BSA is present - that's something I don't get (especially if BSA do not count towards the limit indeed as that was my only plausible explanation to the issue). So I'm trying to understand what's causing the crash with the BSA present and why with it unpacked and removed - things "work" (or should I say - at least launch and somewhat function even if some stuff is missing). Crashing is not a common problem that folks report for Simple Slavery++ so I am thinking maybe we need to examine the basics to determine your issue. Edited August 9, 2022 by Herowynne

Okay, so that's 49 chances that you have an obsolete loose file overriding a newer version in the BSA. (Up to 20 of those could be source files, which is relatively harmless unless you decide to recompile. That's for SE. The count is different for LE due to how I packed the LE version.) The next step would be to remove those loose files, which presumably are from an older version. All Simple Slavery script files start with "sslv_", so they're easy to identify.

Uff.. your paragraph encouraged me to just review how things are installed for me overall. And my god did I open a can of worms with Vortex and its "deployment" procedures. Anyways, I've reinstalled the mod and manually removed the manager manifesto + loose files. This mess was likely created my the mod manager because now it seems to be working with the archive (at least it starts the game). I will need to check other issues with missing stuff later, but my primary concern is addressed. 1
shadowwolf2k7 Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 @HexBolt8I have a quick suggestion, if the player is sent to Simple Slavery with an active quest from Submissive Lola, the follower would show up and claim the player, saying something like "That is my property you are trying to sell and I want it back."

Call the quest “finders keepers.”And then the auction people can tell the guy to fuck off, he should’ve been more careful with his property but this sort of thing might work better as a connection to Lola itself Instead of SS Edited August 11, 2022 by jfraser

Submissive Lola: The Resubmission lets you do that. In that mod, designate your follower as the Auction Buyer, and in this mod enable Submissive Lola as the outcome. If the follower was already your master, the follower buys you back. Otherwise, the follower buys you and enslaves you. 2

I tend to forget that that isn't vanilla behavior. I believe that follower frameworks have an option (usually on by default) to move a follower to the same cell as the PC after a few seconds, if the PC is moved to another cell and the follower wasn't told to wait. I know that NFF does this; I assume that the other frameworks do too. I prefer to not to get into follower management with Simple Slavery, so as to avoid having to support each follower framework. I leave follower behavior to those frameworks. This approach also sidesteps any conflicts with defeat mods that have special handling for followers, such as making the follower a captive. If the follower shows up, I agree with jfraser that the slave traders would say he should’ve been more careful with his property and invite him to bid on the slave if he wants that property back. The Freedom Fund feature basically handles that without requiring another mod like Lola, though there is no scene with your savior actually bidding. 2

DonQuiWho Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Has anyone any suggestions please? SE SS++ 6.3.16 Deviously Cursed Loot SE 9.0 SS++ sold my PC into DCL's Little Bondage Adventure, (this case dumped outside Amol from TES Arena) - I can pay blacksmiths to remove everything DD except for the DCL collar and 'Inescapabale Armbinder' - I get a Journal Quest to 'find my way back' - But: there is no marker on the map, at least not from just from clicking it in the Journal (as I'm writing I'm wondering if there is there a marker number limit?) Went back to Riften and no-one there can help, blacksmith, Salesroom Staff, customers etc (all of whose whose main aim in life seems to be to bang the poor PC) Anyone got any ideas that might help please?

That quest has been bugged (at least for me) for ages. I've removed it from my list of posible outcomes because - Questmarkers rarely show up - freeing you at the end of the quest also removes quest items, like the Slave Collar or High Security Restraints. To get rid of the Inescapable Armbinder, get Add Item Menu and grab the right key. I'd try Kimys Key first, but I'm guessing here. After you're done, dump the key in a respawning container (or a waste bin in your custom player home)

So, I've never managed to trigger this one via SS++ but am going off 'vanilla' DCL knowledge here. The A Little Bondage Adventure quest in DCL is triggered when you talk to ANY NPC while bound and they decide to 'help' you out by adding more bondage and dropping you off in a random location. The 'point' of the quest is to get back to the same NPC where they'll release you and give you a small reward for providing them entertainment. Assuming that you actually were 'sold' into this quest, and not to the Dollmaker in Dawnstar or Leon/Leah in Whiterun, your problem is that you need to figure out WHICH random NPC was chosen for you to be sold to. I would have assumed that you would have been given SOME clue during the initial 'setup' portion of the quest, but if not then you have two options that would 'play by the rules' of the mod. The strict non-cheaty way would be to spend most of the rest of your play through visiting every possible location a _unique_ NPC could be at and talking to them, till you find the right one and they unlock you. The loosely non-cheaty Reach out to Kimmy on the DCL forum thread and ask what console command to find the formID of your target is. From there you can then figure out where they are and go to them directly. I would consider the second method a 'not cheat' because immersively you should have been aware who purchased you at the minimum, so using the console to get that info shouldn't be considered anything more than filling in a gap.
