I was tired sorry...I know why you don't get pop-ups, just a silly mistake >_>...I also know of the other bugs. As for getting pop-ups and "nothing" happening, remember they get pop modifiers now...so it will be a blue thing in the top left corner of a pop's portrait. I looked at the real space patch as well and there was nothing that could cause a conflict.

 

I'll try to get a fix out later today!

Unfortunately, I feel a bit sick so no update yet, but here's a fix for the event pop-ups.

 

Copy and overwrite this file to (...\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\!!Lustful Void\events). This will re-enable event pop-ups...you only have to do this for v0.4.1

Maybe I am all new to this but I am still not getting any popups and Im on my third planet. I am a brood spawner. Does that matter? I also have SSX enabled since I assume those are compatible. I applied the hotfix as well.

 

Am I missing something here?

And then we should see events pop up for it? No matter what? 

 

Other traits have events I assume?

 

Why am I only getting some of SSXs portraits?

As interesting as this sounds for improving the game performance, it sounds like it will play havoc with a lot of mods. I am reading through the changes to jobs specifically. Will this put a damper on this mods new job systems? Milkers just got implemented after all!

I suppose it depends on if they're just changing how modifiers are calculated, or if they change any of the modifiers themselves as well. Personally I'm hoping it's just the former because many mods would be relatively untouched in that case. The latter is the reason I tend to burn out for a couple months after a big update because one of my workshop mods is primarily made up of modifiers and it's a pain in the butt figuring out what works still and what doesn't every time...

Applied hotfix.  No effect on brood parasite with syncretic evolution.  No popup occurs on 2200.01.04.

 

I have included some screenshots.  As you can see, brood parasite bonus kicks in for the primary species, but there is no malus applied to the secondary species.

There is some time to figue out and know how PDX will change the modifiers, I give one or two months for the release of Ancient Relics.

The Paradox employee said in the reddit thread that it wouldn't affect mods as it just does stuff on the backend.

 

The modifiers change should NOT affect mods, or anything really. It's only how we update the values that changed. There might be cases of stuff that was updated immediately that isn't anymore, or stuff that was delayed that's no instant, but nothing else should be affected.

 

Also...

Can someone confirm that the Milk Farms work?

I have mine currently set to add pop growth. I get the indication if I hover over the building, but I do not see it reflected on the population screen where it lists the pop growth modifiers.

At the very least, my use of them has created food, goods, and reduced housing use as the thing says. Now I'll have to go and look how you might have modded them, but the base works for my Fanatic Egal+Xeno empire.

I can second that the base buildings work fine. Nice little boost to my food, and since I'm currently a hive mind I get some much-needed extra credits from selling the consumer goods (amazing how much energy hives use...)

 

Can't say anything about the additional features though. Never fails, every time the research actually shows up on my list it does so alongside a higher priority research. ?

I have no idea if it's from this mod but does anyone else have the framerate grind to a halt on the first of each month around 2250? It's not normal lag since as soon as it loads something it's back to butter smooth. I'm playing with no wormholes, gateways, reduced pop growth and halved hyperlanes yet the issue remains. The frustrating part is how many hours of gameplay are needed to hit 2250 to even know if changing my mod list fixes it.

Does anybody also experience the issue that since the last update you don't get any notifications for stuff like your all female species starting to mate with some aliens? The event seems to trigger as I can see the pop modifier but no event/notification...

No, but bear in mind that 1) my computer is a monster, and 2) this game is terribly optimized.

Found a minor bug. If you set the dairy jobs to breeding the upkeep modifier is backwards. They end up producing extra goods instead of needing more goods.

Sorry about no updates, I've just been taking it easy this weekend. I feel a lot better though so modding will resume soon!


Here's a patch that's been on the discord server for a few days...forgot to post it here:


Extract and overwrite this archive to (...\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod). This will fix milk cows a bit.

 

I've also fixed the problems with pop-ups a few hours ago...but I need to review it when I get a chance tonight to make sure I didn't make any silly mistakes again.
