Skyrim Utility Mod (LE)

Just installed SUM-2-00-SE in my Skyrim SE game with Vortex.  On booting up, I got this message. My current SexLab version is 1.63.  Is this supported?

My load order is very damn long, but this is the relevant part. I notice SUM gets loaded before the SexLab Framework.  Could that be the problem?

Is that screenshot from Vortex? I use MO2, so I can't comment on Vortex.

SUM's plugin file is named "Skyrim - Utility Mod.esm" and it specifies Sexlab.esm as a master, so SUM's plugin file definitely depends on Sexlab's plugin file.

I'm sorry that I cannot comment on how Vortex does load order, and whether that might be the cause of your problem.

Posted (edited)

Vortex relies on LOOT for load order, and neither program can deal with the intricate dependencies of SexLab mods. I'll try moving it around and see what happens.

(Later)

FYI: Don't think it's the load order.  I had failed to install Zap because every time I try to do so, I get this garbage:

(The only animation pack for SE, ZAZ 7.0SE-Rev1.7z, is completely overwritten by ZAZ 8.0, but I guess that isn't your problem.)

(Later)

OK, that wasn't it either: Vortex declared SE, ZAZ 7.0SE-Rev1.7z redundant, but when I changed the load order, it wasn't anymore. So far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with SE, ZAZ 7.0SE-Rev1.7z or ZAZ 8.0. The problem is that ZAP 8.0+ is broken, and I would have to master the Creation Kit first, if I want to use it.  I don't think I'm that smart.

Like I said, this isn't your problem, but I thought you'd want to know.

Skyrim Utility Mod - SUM 2.01 for Skyrim SE

Release notes for Skyrim SE conversion

The Skyrim SE download file is available from the main mod page's Download button.

The Skyrim SE download file is a combination of these download files for Skyrim LE:

  • Skyrim - Utility Mod 201 LE.7z
  • Skyrim - Utility Mod 201 LE - UIE Patch.7z

I left the ESM as Form 43. I typically leave things as Form 43 unless there is a reason to resave in 64-bit Creation Kit.

I made the following changes:

  • Edited iSUmMain.psc to avoid CTD when using a controller by commenting the 2 lines of code consisting of:  Input.TapKey(Input.GetMappedKey("Forward"))
  • Recompiled iSUmMain.psc to iSUmMain.pex
  • Changed the ESM to add missing weapon critical data, so that SSEEdit now shows zero errors.

i have all the SE requirements and yet i cant get SUM to register in game.   it installs fine in MO2 but when i enter the game if i start a new game SUM just never initializes (no function at all, its not just the MCM menu).  i ccheck this by the fact that DDEquip and PoP wont initialize either.  if i switch back to SUM 1.44 and PoP/DDEquip 4.31 everything works and loads up fine.

no clues in papyrus either, its like SUM just wont read in game for me

Same problem here, what is buggered is that this was NOT present in 1.61 SE, but is in 2.01 SE.
Load order is not the prob either. I only saw this once before in a much earlier version of SUM.

I am using Mod Organinzer 2.

The error message looks like a version check looking for the LE version of SexLab, since the one for SE is "SexLab Framework SE 1.63 - BETA 8 - November 22nd, 2019"
I am reverting to v1.61 SE until this is fixed.

Please fix it.

That is very mysterious. Some folks see the version number mismatch popup, but I do not see that in my game.

SUM 2.01 has a JSON file with a list of Sexlab version numbers, and the list does not include the Sexlab SE version number 1.63.

Here is a series of MCM screenshots from my game, depicting the various reported version numbers in my game.

Spoiler

Sexlab identifies itself as 1.63 SE dev beta 8.

ZAP 8.0+ agrees, and also identifies Sexlab as 1.63 SE dev beta 8.

SUM 2.01 SE thinks the Sexlab version is 1.6208 and I do not get a version number mismatch popup.

20210611134952_1.jpg.12794ac1fb24333ff5983de983b1fda9.jpg

DDE 5.00 SE is working okay with SUM 2.01 SE I do not get a version number mismatch popup.

Finally, POP 5.01 SE is working okay with SUM 2.01 SE and DDE 5.00 SE.

POP 5.01 SE thinks the Sexlab version is 1.6208 and I do not get a version number mismatch popup.

I got one just like Faustling's when I loaded up, SUM just like one issued ages ago refused to load,  as things depending on it also did not load properly.

Check it over, the errror is not on our end. It IS in the coding.

With the SUM 2.01 version installed i now get two popups im my SSE game every time i load a game: "DDe: This version of DDe is not compatible with the installed SUM version- Please install Sum version Num. [2.00]" and "SDP: This version of SDP is not compatible with the installed SUM version- Please install Sum version Num. [2.00]"

It would be super helpful if folks running Skyrim SE can please provide screenshots of the MCM > Skyrim Utility > System page.

I need to see what Sexlab SE version number is displayed on the MCM > Skyrim Utility > System page.

Then I can add a version number to the json file in the SE conversion, if needed.

In return I want to ask the most basic question... how do I select the player for Skyrim Utility? Like... for an NPC I target them with the crosshairs, but how do I target myself with the crosshairs?

EDIT: NVM, figured it out. You set a hotkey on the Systems page :)

@Anunya Those version numbers look as expected. Do you get a version number mismatch popup from any of Inte's mods? (SUM, DDE, or POP)

I have not gotten any popups to that effect, no (and I have all three installed).

Okay, that is good news! Another positive data point, in addition to mine. Thanks for responding!

I am hoping that folks who get a version mismatch popup such as @Faustling or @Michele Magus will provide screenshots of the MCM > Skyrim Utility > System page.

Here ya go. SUM appears to be operational but does notlike my Devious Devices 5.1

Then there is the System page.

The first pop is rather odd, it conflicts with the second, or is my dyslexia getting in the way again?

Here ya go. :)

No, that message does not refer to Kimy's mod Devious Devices (DD). That message refers to Inte's mod Devious Devices Equip (DDE or DDe).

Given these screenshots, I understand what is going on in your game. You are using SUM 2.01 and DDE 4.61. That combination is not correct.

The popup warning message is from DDE 4.61 and it is complaining because you have SUM 2.01 installed. The popup message from DDE 4.61 is telling you that DDE 4.61 is supposed to be used with SUM 1.61. (But you have SUM 2.01 installed.)

Update your DDe.

Hi @Inte, thank you for continuing to maintain the mod and POP. I'm updating all my mods in advance of starting a new game, and I noticed two things:

1) I am getting close to running out of plugin slots... getting up in the the Ex indices.

2) SUM only contains 217 records, so in SSE it's a candidate to have an ESL flag added that will allow it to load in the extended FE form ID space.

I glanced through the scripts and didn't notice anything within SUM itself that looks like it would break if I compacted the file myself (though I'd need to regenerate the SEQ file of course), but I was curious -- do your other mods have hardcoded references in their scripts to SUM form IDs? Needless to say, if so that makes it a lot trickier for me as an end user to compact it down successfully.

Anyway, thanks again - looking forward to learning more about how the mod is set up.

This is a good suggestion @gregaaz !

If @Inte decides to compact SUM FormIDs in a future version of SUM, then I can certainly set the ESL flag on the SE conversion of SUM.

For me, that would be the ideal outcome!

But I realize that compacting the form IDs would require people to start new games with whatever version gets that treatment, so I don't mind doing it "self-service" if I have to... just want to confirm it won't break anything!

@Herowynne  I'm getting a warning about UI Extensions when loading a save. Just upgraded from 2.00 to 2.01 and I am on SE. I did not try installing the UIE patch at first as it was included before. After getting the the warning the first time, I tried installing the LE 2.01 UIE patch, but still get the same error. There is no error if I install the LE 2.00 UIE patch.

Also, as an FYI, the github version of SexLab SE identifies as 1.6209. Don't think too many people are using it yet, but just in case it comes up.

This is what I have in system json from before I reverted SexLab back to beta 8: "islcompatiblever" : [ 16200, 16207, 16208, 16209 ],

Thanks for the report!

This is a mystery. I use SUM 2.01 and POP 5.01 in my normal everyday load order, and I do not see this error.

I include the UIE patch in the SE conversion, so there should not be any need to install the UIE patch for LE.

You installed the UIE patch for SUM 2.00 LE and got no error - makes me think that you have another json file somewhere that is overriding the file shipped with SUM 2.01.

Please go to your Data tab in the MO2 right pane and find file SKSE > Plugins > Skyrim - Utility Mod > System > SUM > System.json

MO2 will show you which mod or directory is providing that file. My suspicion is that file is not being provided by your installed SUM 2.01.

Here is what my MO2 display looks like for that file:

Spoiler

zar-mo2.png.df3146a2b85c78298fea1b067ce77b4e.png

After you located that System.json file, then right-click the file and choose Preview from the popup menu.

MO2 will show you the contents of the file.

Here is what my System.json file looks like. I highlighted the relevant line. Notice that SUM 2.01 accepts a UIE patch version of either 200 or 201.
