and still getting a crash to desktop before I even get to a splash screen. I have also done some googling trying to figure out what DDiUtil version 1 could be as I couldnt find anything like that in my mod files or in the main skyrim folder. so far no luck just results from LoversLab of people having trouble with it

 

EDIT: broke down and disabled all mods to make sure I could get to the main menu. then started enabling mods a few at a time. So far there was one causing a crash. More informative Console (not sure why tbh but updated it and it no longer causes a crash.)

 

EDIT2: reenabling a ffew mods at a Time I got to DD and as soon as I reenabled Devious Devices Integration I got the • DDiUtil version 1 (DeviousDevices.dll, Devious Devices Integration) reported as incompatible during query. error in MO2. however there was no CTD at least as far as the Main Menu

The dll for 2.0.13-15? Because that error would only occur if your dll doesn't match the skse version.

And since you're using MO, how are you installing the new  dll? Are you replacing it in the DDi folder using explore, or making a new mod?

if you're making a new mod, you need to make sure you're putting the dll  in the right folders. (create new mod, then create nested folders in this order: SKSE -> Plugins -> DeviousDevices.dll) If you don't create the folders and you're doing a new mod, the new dll is going in the wrong place, right into the data folder.

Tried downloading DDi from the SE page. It's working for me.  Maybe it's your firewall or antivirus? Or an issue with your browser addons as it mentioned? Or a temporary issue on mega?
All I have is try it again.

I installed the new DLL by opening up the mod folder and Overwriting the old DLL with the new one. should I instead have installed it as a seperate mod making sure it would overwrite the old DLL in the load order?

NOSCRIPT plugin could be interfering with Firefox but that wouldnt explain Chrome or Edge not pulling the file right from Mega. could it maybe be a proxy?

btw in case I havent said it yet I really appreciate all the help and Patience with an old fart

 

EDIT: changing from just copying the DLL to Devious Integration to Making the patch its own mod that overwrites seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion. So far it looks like everything is working as I am able to get to the main menu now with no CTD's Gonna try loading into a game to see if I am able to play for a bit without a CTD

 

EDIT2: I was able to start a new game but all my old games refused to load. okay no problem I dont mind restarting again. Started a new character and got to the cell for Live another Life.. waited for Mods to register. MCM menu option never showed up in the system tab and DD threw up an error saying a fatal error occurred. I am confused

I haven't seen a fatal error on mine before. From what I can find though, that means a bad install or with the MCM not showing, missing scripts.

Try redownloading and reinstalling DDi? You may also need to reinstall DDa and DDx. Since you had to redo things earlier, make sure you've got all the requirements updated too.

 

If that doesn't work, could we get your load order?

MO2 by itself doesn't cause a problem unless you aren't using it right. But given that it's more complex, that's easier to do. I hope that you aren't installing directly to your data folder -  if you're running bodyslide and fnis through MO like you're supposed to, it won't see the files in your actual data folder because it's only looking at what you installed with its virtual file system. Either use MO for everything, or switch to the community NMM or Vortex.

 

The first screenshot is just the object not getting adjusted right. This happens because DD/DCL were made for LE CBBE. CBBE SE is not the same body, so the bodyslide files need converting. Make sure you've got the current patches for CBBE - this will fix most of the issues, but you may still see some.. If you aren't using CBBE SE, then you need to make sure you've got the UNP bodyslide files from LE because the SE version of bodyslide doesn't support UNP. I don't use UNP myself, so if you are using that, you'll need to search further back in this thread or the DCL SE thread, or wait for someone else to help.

The second issue is just an animation error, I'm not sure that there's anything that can be done about it. it will occur when another idle overrides the bound idle.

 

The last issue is usually an issue with bodyslide not being run (yes I saw you've done a batch build). Is it just for the one outfit? if so, try selecting it instead of your body preset and build it like you would your body. What outfit are you supposed to be wearing?

 

Not sure if it will help, but when batch building, this is how I've got it selected, and I always check 'unassigned' too.

Folks, I know there's some frustration going on with the bodyslide files for DD/DCL and the HDT stuff. It is being worked on, but since none of us who are  working on it are the original modders, it's slow work.

 

Once we have a good working set of patches, it will all be rolled up into the main file(s) or into consolidated patches, but not before then. This may also mean that Kimy needs to approve the work before it gets rolled up into the main file, but that's between Pfiffy and Kimy. Until then, the mess of multiple files is what we have to work with. But we are aware this is not ideal.


Things to note - while we are getting HDT to work so that it doesn't cause CTD's, it's not always pretty. Since we aren't the original modders, we aren't always the best at modifying the nifs to work correctly with HDT-SMP. So you will see chains that don't appear connected even if they are 'working'. Some things will 'heal' on their own after a hard save and load from the main menu (not quicksave/quickload) others will not be connected, but will react.

 

If any of this is a deal breaker for you, you're welcome to try doing this yourself. I personally have never edited a mesh until I tried converting the PE stuff over to SMP starting in December. What I know is minuscule compared to those who can create this stuff from scratch. :) If you are one of the ones who thinks they can do better - hit up Pfiffy or me and we'll talk.

 

The clipping / Bodyslide issues are mostly related to the differences between the LE version of CBBE and the SE version of CBBE. The patches to date cover most of the commonly encountered stuff, but doesn't cover it all. If you see an issue not covered by the patches we have so far, and don't want to wait for us to go through everything to see what is missed, then you can manually correct it yourself by following this process:

My current theory as to whats going on and what I am working from is that something in either SKSE or Skyrim is broken. mainly because I am getting a CTD with nothing enabled except SKSE everytime I hit I for inventory. no error messages just CTD. I think I am going to Delete Skyrim and reinstall it and SKSE at this point and I went ahead and posted my Load Order as asked because maybe I missed something

It's any one of the DD body pieces. This one in particular was the rubber suit. I selected everything. including unassigned.

I don't know how I managed to make things worse.

Don't check CBBE and UNP together -they'll just conflict. only check what's needed for your body, unless you like adding to your reconciliation checks during the batch build.

After running bodyslide and fnis, are there files in your overwrite, or do you have them set up to save somewhere else?

 

If they're in your overwrite, delete everything and run bodyslide one more time.

open your overwrite and browse through it. You should have a folder under meshes named devious with folders for the catsuits.

when you're done checking it, right click and choose to create a new mod, call it bodyslide data or something like that. make sure you check the new mod or it won't be enabled.

I'd place it below every mod that showed up to be built, but it shouldn't be overwritten or overwriting anything - it should be all new data.

 

If you've redirected the bodyslide output, find out where it's saving it and make sure that mod is checked.

Click the gears for modify executables and see if 'create files in mod instead of overwrite is checked'. If you've redirected the output, the mod name should be here.

 

for fnis, are your mods showing up when you run it? are there any errors?

If the mods do show up, have you enabled file redirection in vortex/mo support (check box in fnis) or in mo (check the executables like you did for bodyslide)?

If you don't have file redirection set up, fnis data should go into overwrite as well. you need to create a new mod for that too.

once you find where the fnis data is going, make sure that mod is checked too.

are you launching skyrim using the skse launcher?

If you're having problems with just skse installed and it's not because you forgot to launch from the skse launcher, then reinstalling skyrim may be needed. before doing that, check your skyrim folder (not the data folder) and make sure you don't have multiple versions of the skse dlls installed. you should be zipping up the skse scripts and installing them through your mod manager so these can be easily updated.

you can also check your load order with loot, then after using loot, make sure that all your sexlab mods are sorted per the recommendations by the mod authors - MNC can be a particular pain.

 

For sos light, it's been a while since i've used the light version, but you have both sos light se and sos light for le. pretty sure you should only have one. You will also need to be sure the sexlab mods you're using are compatible with sos light, or just switch to the ported sos full.

 

nothing i saw should cause a particular problem with with the dd mods, so it's likely skyrim or skse at fault there.

turns out it was both a bad file in Skyrim and a bad file in SKSE but wiped out both entirely and reinstalled carefully from scratch. Now going through my mod list a few at a time and fixing issues as they arrive. such as PapyrusUtil.DLL provided in two mods being for older versions of SKSE according to them and the newest version not overwriting properly. Fixed that so far by copying PapyrusUtil.DLL over the outdated ones.

 

I didnt know there was an SOS full. as When I first started using it there was only SOS light. I will go looking for it

for the papyrusutil issue, sort your mods on the left side in mo by priority. then just drag the papyrusutil mod below the two mods with the old papyusutil files on the left side. by putting the papyrusutil mod below the other mods, that will tell mo that it should overwrite the others. you'll know nothing is overwriting it if you see a lightning bolt with just a green plus. if there's a red minus, something is overwriting it.

BTW you have no Idea how much I appreciate yours and others help so far Zarantha. if I wasnt on disability I would show it with cash I am so grateful lol .

believe it or not I tried several different arrangements trying to get PapyrusUtil to overwrite the problematic files. I even sett it to load first and to load last. but I still kept getting complaints about it either not existing or it being out of date. However copying the DLL to the problem folders fixed the issue . I know it was probably a bad thing to do but it is working and I havent had any problems out if it since. I am going through the mod list a few at a time enabling them and sorting them in the left side priority in MO as I go trying to get a proper sorting and clearing up issues as they arise. Got SOS full installed. Once I get my load list all done and working I will be turning to getting HDT to work with my body (CBBE) and with clothing.

welp I thought I had it all fixed lol. Been testing mods and load order with a clean save. The clean save is one I have used for ages for testing as it is as clean as a save in SE can get. No problems whatsoever. Created a new character and soon as I am out of Character creation I start getting a CTD when I open the inventory. the only difference between the two characters was gender and race ( I use a custom succubus race) so I am fairly certain it is no longer DD causing my crash.

I dont know if its DD SE beta or DCL SE beta  that is the issue, and this might not be an issue- might be a feature :)

 

A question:

I noticed from time to time like when being assaulted, that the screen stays black, well after afaik the event is over. Is this "as intended", or might it be a DD mod issue, or ZaZ/SL animation issue? Hud is visible/quest marker bar, etc... I can move around, but its pretty much black screen.

 

An idea:

Textures could be replaced with more "skyrim" looking assets....  so the black leather stuff either looks like skyrim fur/leatherarmor  or black, but same skyrim texture...  ball gags- wooden or steel...  From an Immersive pov i guess?

 

Question the second:

Could you offer any settings tips- Im kind of after this for the idea of "After Im bested in combat, or random event"  Basically, I get tied up as punishment, or because of assault,  not based on how horny I am though.. or if you have any idea on how to set settings between Defeat/DD/dangerous nights 3

I figured out what was causing my crash. the vivid weathers mod had gone bad and put a corrupted book in my inventory of new characters. I uninstalled then redownloaded and installed Vivid weathers and that fixed it

and still getting a crash to desktop before I even get to a splash screen. On the off chance it was my ENB I uninstalled everything to do with my ENB and tried launching just to see if I could get to the menu at least. I have also done some googling trying to figure out what DDiUtil version 1 could be as I couldnt find anything like that in my mod files or in the main skyrim folder. so far no luck just results from LoversLab of people having trouble with it

 

EDIT: broke down and disabled all mods to make sure I could get to the main menu. then started enabling mods a few at a time. So far there was one causing a crash. More informative Console (not sure why tbh but updated it and it no longer causes a crash.)

 

EDIT2: reenabling a ffew mods at a Time I got to DD and as soon as I reenabled Devious Devices Integration I got the • DDiUtil version 1 (DeviousDevices.dll, Devious Devices Integration) reported as incompatible during query. error in MO2. however there was no CTD at least as far as the Main Menu

Hey can I get some help??? I'm getting the same error and CTD, don't really know if that error is the cause though, because I could play the game before, but after I added a few mods it started and I can't pinpoint the cause. I mean I thought I could play anyway, but then I installed a mod that required PCEA2, and that's when I wondered if these animations required that or not. It's there that I get CTD whenever I load a game or start a new one. Without it, and a couple other mods (that require it) I can play just fine, tho the error stays there... maybe like you my crashes are due to another mod, but it'll still help to rule out that one, so I'm trying to do what you did, but the error stays the same, I've check SKSE version, installed the hotfix and the new dll as a separate mod. LOOT doesn't give me any errors, other than dirty plugins, tho I've read I should leave those alone. 

 

Please, i'm really near to play my ultramodded skyrim that I always wanted... I've followed every load order there is and compatibilities and still it haunts me.

How many animations do you have? Animation limits are dependent on your pc and how many mods you have, and it's different for everyone. If you really need PCEA2, then start with removing some slal packs. DD itself adds a lot of animations now, so for many people, it's been a slow creep until they reach the breaking point.

Thanks for the SE edition, its actually rather fun!

I've seen it fade to black and stay there longer than I expected. I believe it's through DCL and it's intentional. I hit and back out of inventory a few times until I can see, I don't try to move around in the dark.

 

For ideas, you should post those in the LE thread, I don't think Kimy is monitoring the SE thread as closely.

 

All I can say on the settings, is there's a lot and they're mostly arousal based. If you want it random, and all the time, decrease the arousal needed for traps.  Otherwise, just keep playing around with the settings.

Crash on opening inventory is probably skyui or bad textures in your inventory. Maybe try grabbing a fresh download of skyui? or just disable it and see if you still crash?

 

I'd start fresh again - vanilla skyrim with just skse and live another life only. launch with skse, start a new game (do not load a save)

finish character creation and check your inventory in the lal  cell. if there's no issues, save and exit

add in skyui and load up the new save and check inventory again.

rinse and repeat adding mods one at a time until you find the one where you crash on opening inventory.

 

Once you have your mods set up again how you want and not crashing on you, you can use ~ to open the console and type in showracemenu - that will put you back into character creation and you can switch to your custom race then. after that, go to the statue and pick a scenario - if you prefer the vanilla start, that's there too.

Nope, I only use it for some combat animations so yeah I was thinking about removing it. My question, which you seem to have answered, was if any DD occupied it or not. With all mods I was around 12000 anim I think, though when it didn't crashed it ran smooth (I have a somewhat capable PC, 8gb RAM, 6gb gddr5 VRAM). As for anim packs I have the standard DDa DDi DDx, Funnybiz and Nasty Critts, ZAZ and DD Cursed Loot packs. Aside from SLAB and Aroused Idk how many do those add... Do you think that's what making it crash? I downloaded the XXL Fnis so as to go higher than the standard, but yeah I didn't know that could be an issue, I kinda just went with the animations some of the mods required. Also, am I missing any tool to use to see what's causing the crash? Maybe some logs? I searched for some but none reported anything failing. If not off to check mods one by one I go T.T
And there is still the DDi error present which I have no clue as to how I can fix it. (I mean that's why I'm on this thread and not on other support one xD)

One last quick question just read your last comment, do I need to activate any of these mods AFTER I start a game? I mean get a clean save and then use that? How would I know which? I apparently could start with no problem the first time, and since a new game crashes as well it doesn't appear to be that, but maybe for future references that might be good to know.

The general  recommendation is to keep it under or around 10k animations, even if you are using fnis xxl. I've got a new and pretty beefy pc, and with all the texture mods, enb, script heavy mods and animations i have, 10k is about right. I go lower when i'm troubleshooting why i'm crashing, then slowly add them back after fixing it. DD/DCL and their prerequisites come to around 3k animations on their own. mnc and zaz bring it up to around 5k animations. They add up fast :)

 

There was a tool to help troubleshoot the crashes (.net script framework), but sadly, it hasn't been updated for the latest skse yet.

UPDATE: Welp, I removed PCEA2 and suddenly no crashes no nothing!! :D :D :D idk if it'll last but at least it's not loading nor I have T pose or anything. Still I think that DDi error persisted but hey if the rest of the things work and some anim don't it's okay with me by now. I'm installing all with MO2 and yeah the runtime is overwriting the DDi old one (appears red and the other green, it's next on the load order so I assume it overwrites it). Version is that one you're showing latest one I've checked it, checked SKSE Version, latest DD files so it all should match, it really beats me why it happens... I've checked MO2 and those folders are the ones that it creates. Should I install it/them (all the DD mods) manually as well are you saying? When selecting the "data path" on mo2 all other mods have worked perfectly so far, i think i did the same with these ones as well. I'll keep you updated if any other bug appears.

When i'm updating files manually, i'm doing them in the mod organizer install folder (right click on the mod and explore), i'm not doing anything actually in the real skyrim data directory.

 

if you right click on ddi or the mod for the dll and go to information and conflicts, it should show the dll overwritten, but it sounds right from what you describe.

what does the skse log say about the ddi dll?

C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\my games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE\skse64.log

 

it should be something like this, if it's not, it's definitely not getting loaded:

checking plugin D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\DeviousDevices.dll
