Several options there.

Park your followers and let Anska do most of the fighting (she seems to be protected or essential in my game at least until near the end).

Don't talk to her at the beginning so she doesn't join you.

Does your follower management mod not have anything which helps?

 

I have draugr set to non-hostile in my game so I ignore her, get the mask, give her the scroll and leave. If I give her the scroll near where you find it or near where Vokun was then she is generally fighting against umpteen draugr when I leave. If I wait and give it here near the entrance to the dungeon where she had already killed the draugr then she is okay(-ish).

I use EFF and so not from what I can see, I read that ATF does have this feature but there is a reason I don't use that, not sure what it is at the moment but it might not have been compatible with something (Thief?)

 

That console command seemed to work fine... Everyone got along despite all the AOE attacks. I'm looking for another crappy male follower. I have Golldir, Eric and Roggi so far. I think there is another useless one in Morthal I can grab, if I can beat him in a fight... Which is a big if.

I decided to give myself a makeover at the friendly neighborhood plastique sturgeon's place...

 

Then I played hide-and-seek with Misty Skye, watching her top keep falling off.

 

After that I went to an inn to touch up the enchantments on my earrings, where thankfully, I was ambushed from behind!

 

Of course I screamed for help- "DEEPER! OH MY GOD, PUSH IT!" and so forth. Fortunately, he got the hint and redoubled his efforts.

 

I realized that turn-about was fair play, so I did.

 

And finally, I capped off the night with a visit to my local Library, where I, um, read some books, yeah, that's what I did. Yup.

I don't know why they are looking at me. My experience of being stranded on a mile-high, seven-sided pillar of rock is no greater than theirs.


 

 

Animations are usually an island of sanity in my otherwise mental Skyrim. They never give me any trouble but now in the last couple of days I have had several weird things happen.

Started a new game.  Shooting for Breton Cleric (Restoration, Illusion, Alteration, 1-handed mace and I'm thinking heavy armor), but she's basically a clean slate.

I haven't had any skill advances (no spells or combat, picking locks, crafting or buying/selling).  I blew through Helgen and didn't pick anything up.  I chopped wood to get cab fare to Markarth and hire Vorstag.  He took care of all of the wolves and skeevers when I went to the Lord Stone and while doing the quest 'Book of Love' to get the Agent of Mara ability.

 

The dead Thalmor soldier at the Shrine of Talos yielded Iron Armor of Minor Illusion.  I lucked into encountering the Vigils of Stendarr hunting a vampire and she dropped a Circlet of Minor Illusion.  Also picked up 'the Stray Dog'.

 

I'm either going to player her as strictly support (turning undead, healing and illusions) or making her a witch hunter (vampires, hagravens, necromancers, Forsworn, etc,)  haven't decided yet.

I doubt there are 23 Male Followers in the game

 

As for custom male followers, there aren't that many good ones, the interesting looking ones all have custom textures and nevernude bodies.

 

You'd think the guys on Vector PLexus' site would be releasing some but they just make their own and take screenshots of them.

 

Anyway, my current restart wasn't clean. Reloaded an older save which messed things up a bit it would seem so going for a restart. Benor is going to be hard to get a low level without either lowering the difficulty or just forcing him to be a follower. Roggi doesn't become available until you've seen the Grey Beards.

I am now thinking, instead of going for Quantity, go for Quality. Inigo, Hoth and Lucien (I can't think of any other decent custom male followers at the moment)

True enough. You chop and change meshes and textures for females so why not males?

 

You could:

Use EFF to force recruit or

Use TDFAPP and recruit 3 NPCs. That might add new meaning to the term "Taking one for the team". ?

That works fine when the Follower is using standard textures but for the more interesting looking ones like Azog or Xavier it's not so easy and requires a lot more skill in PS than I have. Probably need the PSD's for the textures.Xav

 

As for the Rylt as follower, Uhh No Thank You!... However, I might look at seeing if I can make her playable Although I'd have to scale her up somewhat, by looks of the screenies she's about .7 or less.

I agree that Azog requires far to many hoops to be jumped through. Not really got around to trying many others. I was going to go with male followers on my next game but I went the SkyFem route which makes it pointless.

I pretty much stood in fire while my companion was taking care of the scary creatures for me. With the difficulty I'm playing on, a mudcrab can kill me in one hit no matter how much armor one is wearing.

The vanilla armour cap is 567.
