If the way the AND term is used confuses some people, perhaps AND could be renamed to MUST BE. 

 

I think the help text for the number of conditions is as clear as it can be, and the MCM Help page does a good job explaining what each term means and how it's used.  

 

The mod actually works quite well, but it offers more flexibility around specifying conditions than many other mods, which has the potential to be a little confusing to those who are just starting to use it.  I made a few goofs when I first started using SL Adventures, then I went back and re-read the help for the terms and figured out what I'd done wrong.

Replacing AND with MUST BE could work as that does describe what it is doing somewhat better, though I feel it isn't necessary. There should be something in the conditionals section directing you to check the Help tab to understand the conditions if there isn't already, I think that the help dialogues do a pretty good job of explaining how things work.

Yep. I have. 

 

This is an issue of: what the user expected, vs what actually happened for the user. What's done with that feedback, is ultimately up to the author....it makes no difference now to me, either way, as I have learned from the situation. The question then is, what about the next person?

"It works for me" is the worst response for any support issue. I'm not saying this to be mean, or rude. But to point out that, like any other piece of software...if someone gets frustrated, or something doesn't fire as expected...many will just uninstall. I nearly did...but then, I try out a lot of mods....and this one seemed nifty enough to keep working with it. Feedback is, what you make of it. In looking through this thread, searching the terms "Sleep" "Rape" and "Sleep Rape" .... I realized there may have been other issues with simply setting the proper logic. I can't be the only one. 

 

At the end of the day: take the feedback for what it's worth. Another perspective.

Please don't think I'm just complaining, I absolutely LOVE this mod and it's been hitting so many things in my heart that's been missing from Sexlab that I can't imagine ever installing Skyrim without it anymore.

1. Combat rape would be better than proximity rape for hostiles, you are more likely to attack a bandit than a civilian so they know they would need to subdue you first, if they are made non hostile somehow maybe allow proximity rape, though it might do that already IDK.

 

3. sounds like a fair addition, sexlab disparity has this feature but I think only for masturbation that it starts itself.

 

5. There is an option for that I thought in the rape tab where you set pursuit time, toggle warnings or something. Not sure of exact text can't launch game atm. could be a different mod but fairly sure it's this one.

 

2 and 4 no opinion on.

Hm, I looked at it's DL page and saw nothing about it. Though tbh, just looking at the MCM of that mod gives me a headache, it looks horribly finickly to set up.

 

EDIT: it says it goes only for masturbation started by Disparity, not manual or by other mods. So, not really useful.

It says "pursuit starts" or something like that. xD

 

For some reason for me rape starts ASAP, I have no chance to escape and I have the auto-surrender turned off.

"Allow Escape" must be turned on.  Otherwise, the pursuit is skipped.

 

Question for Teutonic:  Is the rape chance when undressing supposed to consider line of sight?  If not, could it please?  Either I'm getting very unlucky or NPCs can see my character switching outfits through walls (darned peep holes!).  I'm deliberately choosing what seem like safe places, out of sight, but the rape attempt still triggers.

Several versions ago when playing with that notification, a few times I was able to get away before being caught, but the npc(s?) it picks to chase you have to be a fairly good distance from you or there is no real chance to escape, with the new larger scanning ranges that can actually be more likely to be the case now.

Once they catch up to you (or start beside you as they so often do) they win auto surrender or no, thinking about that it would be nice if there were some way to resist the attempt, like was tried with SLHH.

Nah, 

 

I always have Allow Escape on, and this still happens. It happens a lot in towns. I literally was stripped in Riften for a scene *before* I got the notification. This happens sometimes, my guess is: script lag can exacerbate it.

It is turned on, doesn't help. Sex starts without being able to react, NCP literally teleports to me.

Personally, I think the way the conditions are presented makes them require more explanation than is ideal.

 

If OR was replaced with a simple  +1, +3 or +3

You could also have condition values of -1, -2 and -3

 

Then have a condition called "ALL OF" in which case you must satisfy all conditions.

The NEVER and ALWAYS are already clear enough.

Clearly, no need for an ANY OF, as that is just ALWAYS in disguise.

 

Then you just have to explain how the threshold, ALL OF, NEVER and ALWAYS values interact.

You could actually have a drop down for that too:

e.g. THRESHOLD and ALL OF, THRESHOLD or ALL OF, THRESHOLD + ALL OF x 3, THRESHOLD + ALL OF  x 5, THRESHOLD + ALL OF x 10

 

This changes little (apart from the names) and the extra ability to choose how the different types combine.

Or you could keep existing names and add that last feature.

To be honest, personally I don´t think explaining the conditions only by  numbers would help very much.

 

There are probably many users of this great mod that don´t know anything about modding or even programming (me, for example ? ) and don´t like math.

The existing HELP section seems to be more  helpful IMHO.

What is expected changes from person to person though. Especially when some people don't bother to read tooltips, while others do. Changing the option label for conditions required should help clarify the issue.

  1. It would probably start combat. And even if that can be prevented, they will still be hostile after the gangrape and will immediately attack.
  2. I'll see what makes sense.
  3. It's planned, but not on high priority since interest does not seem to be high.
  4. There used to be an option for that but it is redundant, since NPCs are either guards or non-guards. Just set both to 0.
  5. It says: "Someone is following you..." if the option for that is turned on. Judging from your other comment, you might be getting "Rape enters pursuit phase." which is a debug message.

It is going to trigger either way, just not necessarily finding any rapists. It's just a regular attempt like any other, triggered instantly. There is no "line of sight" mechanic per se, but if there is anything in the way, that should prevent it from finding them.

I have thought about renaming them and other ways to make them require less explanation, but never found anything quite compelling. How about this:

 

  • AND -> ALL OF
  • NOT -> NONE OF
  • OR -> SOME OF (DOUBLE, TRIPLE)
  • OR NOT -> SOME NOT (or maybe SOME OF NOT, SOME NOT OF - not sure)
  • EITHER -> EITHER OF
  • EITHER NOT -> EITHER OF NOT or EITHER NOT OF or leave it - not sure)

The rest can stay the same. They will still require explanation, but maybe a bit less.

Yes, this seems like a good idea. Just happened to me again in Morthal. I got the notifier AFTER I was de-clothed.

At some point, and I think I mentioned this before: it probably wouldn't hurt to implement a preset system for these. Obviously not now, or right away. But you may want to consider it for the future. Having some tested baselines people can see, to learn by example....would really set this mod apart.

 

I like SLADV, because it replaces other mods (like Dangerous Nights) really well, and it's very clear you care about the user experience. In that same vein, perhaps at some point...breaking out the rape settings into a couple of different profiles based on time of day would also be really useful. You could then tune behavior based on night time, daytime. Just a thought, something to think about going forward.

You did mention it and it is something I have considered before. But I don't know if there is a general interest in such a feature.

 

Different profiles based on time of day probably fall into the same category.

That would not effect followers, since they are non hostile anyway, and there is a chance slider specifically for followers.

Or maybe not time of day, but cells: interior cells, town cells and wilderness cells that you can set these proximity rape settings for. Just a drop down menu on top of the section with advanced settings where a different cell type can be chosen.

 

Your current system is quite powerful in what it can do, but it has me completely confused and I did read the help several times. The thing is I don't know what relationship Always and And have with OR. Are they independent? If I have some settings on OR and some on Aways and And, do each of these work independently and which has priority? Or do they work together? For example, f I set naked to always, does that mean that no matter what the other settings are (for OR) settings, if not even one OR is filled, does that mean my char will still get raped if she's naked?

Fairly sure the conditionals work like this:

 

If any ALWAYS is true you are vulnerable

then if there are no ALWAYS true and all of the following are met you will be vulnerable

  • all ANDs true and all NOTs false
  • any EITHER is true or any EITHER NOT false (if there are no EITHERs then this passes)
  • the number of ORs true and OR NOTs false add up to the threshold

Has anyone else seen this? Attacker set to male; keep getting proximity attacked by females. If I force the sexlab gender to female the same NPC does not repeat. Males also attack.

 

Using 73.3, upgraded from 73.1 to 73.2 to 73.3 in the same game.

A small suggestion to make the MCM clearer:

 

On both Proximity Rape and Sleep Rape pages, in the bottom-right, there are two options both called "Rob all items".  The second one would be more clear if called "Rob quest items", or maybe better, "Include quest items".

Yeah, that would be great. 3 or 5 seconds would be even better for outdoors if facing fast opponents like deer or something ;-)

 

Btw., after again seeing some other mods, can I just say you have one of the nicest, cleanest and easiest-to-navigate mod frontpages I've ever seen?

 

I know it may be a strange thing to say, but this is important in my eyes. A few minutes ago I opened the page for M.C.G and felt as if someone has just smashed me with a warhammer upon seeing that download page. Holy shit.

Very much agreed.  The attention to design and detail is evident.  Many other mods have MCM pages that are awkward to use, are riddled with misspelled words, and have quite a few options with missing (or downright incorrect) help text.  This, and the update button that lets players easily update the mod in the middle of a game make this mod a real gem.

I did not see if this was resolved or not but when i get raped and get the simple slavery outcome, I get sent to SS first then teleported to a place with all grey walls and after the animations stops i fall and my game breaks basically. Is there a fix?
