tsairis, is there any way to find out before installing them what type of animations any particular animation pack contains?

Read the (Oldrim) mod description? Authors tend to tell you exactly what's in there, often even with some previews.

After downloading you can also read the source SLAL data files at SLAnims\source (if included) or the more technical ones at SLAnims\json (if not). Includes each animation and its tags, among other information.

Conversely, do you know of any animation packs explicitly labeled "consensual/affectionate/non-aggressive?"

100% consensual? I'm not sure any of them are entirely anything, let alone consensual. But personally I'm partial to Nibbles' anims (port).

tsairis, is there any way to find out before installing them what type of animations any particular animation pack contains? I tried 2 of them (back in Oldrim) and they seemed to be exclusively about rape, aggressive/rough punch-baggery, BDSM and/or other forms of not-entirely-consensual abuse activity. The problem is that once I install and register them to see for myself what they are about, they are intermingled seamlessly with my existing animations, from which all identifiable aggressive/rough anims have already been laboriously culled, requiring that I spend another 4 or 5 hours to try to weed them out all over again based on their tagging, then keeping Debug options on for the next few months so the names of all animations appear on my screen so I can delete the ones that weren't properly tagged, etc.

As a result of those early experiences, I have simply not used any animation packs once I realized what kind of anims were in the two I tried. In other words, it's a Royal PITA to install an animation pack without knowing in advance what overall type of anims are in it. Do you know of any way to find out? Conversely, do you know of any animation packs explicitly labeled "consensual/affectionate/non-aggressive?"

All Anim Packs I had in my fingers usually contain consensual and non consensual anims... so far...and in some cases I think it is just the question where you draw the line...

The only way to find out is to check the tags and make sure you agree to them...Or you have to check each anim, classify it yourself and make your own pack.

when I try to play an animation nothing happens I've reinstalled multiple times and made sure to run fnis sexlablight works also does this come with any animation or do I have to manually install them?

It comes with some but you'll want others. Look into SLAL.

Install SexLab and all dependencies. Install MatchMaker. Run FNIS. Launch game, go into the MCM, and have SexLab install itself. Wait in game for it to finish. Then try the MatchMaker spells.

For some reason when I test the matchmaker self spell on my character it does not play any animations. But when i do the debug self spell it gives me a startsex()-failed to add some actors to thread message in the console. On top of that when I run Fnis after I installed V1.63 beta 4, it doesn't give me the loading animation(s) messages when I run it, but for the light version of sexlab it does. I'm so confused...

never mind I had to install Light and 6.3 beta my bad...

No, you do not install Light and 1.63b. You install either Light or 1.63b.

After multiple FNIS runs and LO movement, I still can't seem to get this working. Menus are fine, but animations will not play. Been trying to find the issue since DD and DCL don't work with Sexlab Light, but it seems a little pointless to have those without a working Sexlab. I've updated every file and on a new game, so hopefully someone has a suggestion.

For me sexlab works fine, congrats to the maker/authors of this. One little question though:

Why npcs dont ask for bed when about to sex? Yes I have marked the "NPCs always ask for bed" option in the sexlab settings. Yes my sexlab framework is up to date. Yes I have installed all the requirements (SKSE and SkyUI)

The only other sex mods I have is sexlab solutions and defeat (and SOS). Not many sex mods so I dont think they are interfering.

"animations will not play"  - is simply not enough information.

Does that mean the actors stand idle while the sounds play?

Does it mean they are standing in the T-Pose?

Does it mean you do whatever it required to start sex but the actors continue with their activity like nothing happened?

Hey There ... Thanks for loads of mods and help around here ... I'm actually stuck with one little oddity:

https://i.imgur.com/MECjkYB.png

I had the SLLight and switched to the full beta today. .. now I got these variables shown up on all SL-Panels, most panels aren't functional (can't start the animationtests, can't see stats, can't switch options).

Did I mess something up with deactivating Light and installing full framework? Oo

EDIT: Forget about it ... the SexLab ESM wasn't checked on MO. All is fine now :D

Dang I'm getting that no tracked stats, but am on NMM and verifying things are... different if and when possible :(

How the heck did SL even work without the ESM?  Would not have thought it would've even a little.

Regardless you did answer a question for me, that accumulating stats does indeed work and has been implemented in SL-SE, so its something else on my end.

Skyrim belongs to the Imperials.

1. It may have at one time. However, their claim to MY land terminated when they decided to terminate ME at Helgen!

2. Congratulations on your choice of the Intellectual Slut as your avatar! I love playing along in FO4 with her loaded on full-auto when suddenly, throughout my uber-quiet house full of sleeping people, something I do triggers her randomly and her sexy slut-ecstasy call resonates throughout my home! The most interesting part is when somebody rushes downstairs and says OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING AND WHERE IS HE??? and I smile sweetly at my dear husband and tell him I didn't hear anything. :classic_tongue:

For whatever reason, I cannot download this file. When on a laptop, chrome downright refuses to load the page, when I open it on my phone, the website says that the file has been removed and cannot be found ?

Seems quite clear to me, but let's try this another way...

Mod installs correctly.

FNIS registers animations.

MCM menu loads.

Animation name comes up in corner.

Characters just stand around idle across from each other.

No sound plays (The only detail I didn't add)

Time plays out and they redress.

There is no option for NPCs to ask about beds. For them it's always, sometimes, or never. SL can ask the player about beds, though. Maybe you got the two options confused?

His question was entirely right to ask, and your response here incredibly telling. You haven't installed and used FNIS correctly. Characters standing there and doing nothing, then redressing, means the actors don't know what the animation that was sent to them is.

Double check your FNIS install and post your FNIS output log here if you can't figure it out. And if you're using Mod Organizer or Vortex, make damn sure you're following FNIS's instructions for how to use it with them correctly.

i have beta 4 but the mcm still says it is beta 3 is this correct or is the file in the first post the wrong version ??

I apparently forgot to update the version number to beta 4, so ignore that. But, assuming everything is working and you're using the newest SKSE and Skyrim version, then you can safely assume you're using beta 4.

Loverslab have two options: 1o option: "NPCs use bed". It is set in "always". 2o option: "Ask for bed use". Its also set in "always"

So SL never asks the player about beds and I dont know why.

1. Aww dont judge the empire because of one stubborn commander. Skyrim land is not just yours, it belongs to everyone who lives there. Ulfric wants a nords-only skyrim, where redguards, argonians and Dark elves have no place, and this is why he keeps Dark elves in slums and argonians outside Wildhem. Oh that little butthurt, I am sure general Tullius will get the job done and make Skyrim a great country  imperial province again ;)

2. Ha ha ha ha alright!

I have MO2. FNIS, of course.  After installation I remove the 0 from the INI.  Then in the INI, I redirect to the Output folder, making sure I’ve removed the ‘ mark from the ” RedirectFiles=”.  After numerous reinstalls I continually receive “ERROR(76): Could not find a part of the path 'I:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\temporary_logs'.”

Upon turning off mods it seems the error 76 is coming from having sexlab installed.  I’ve tried the latest version and the prior version with the same resulting error.  Without SL, FNIS generates the Tools and Scripts folder, not the Mesh folder.

I’m sure I’ve missed something small, but I’ve never had this issue with FNIS or Sexlab before and am at a complete loss.  Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated!

The first option is for NPCs and won't ask you. The second option is for the player (when the player is involved in a scene) and "will" ask you.

...but only if you're near a bed. Within 750 units, I believe, which is about 6 people's heights.

Spoiler

not all beds are recognized by SL... especially if they are added by by other mods.
