SexLab have the version 1.64 for the Anniversary Edition and the version 1.63 for the Special Edition.

some user already have the Skyrim AE installed and others also applied the the downgrade patch. So right now is not easy give the right instructions for each user.

I recommend you all to try both versions, the 1.64 for AE and the 1.63 for SE.

also if i understood right, the last version of SexLab for AE have a hard dependency that have to be installed apart. Check the following Ashal comment for more details: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/91861-sexlab-se-sex-animation-framework-v164b-112321/?do=findComment&comment=3582608

I have been having this same notice and absolutely nothing is helping, it always has an immediate CTD within 60 seconds of loading up a save. I have no Display fixes, My game was up to date but I ended up trying to downpatch to an older version ( to no avail, current versions of literally everything AND pre-November patch versions broke it all to hell. I tried 1.64 for AE and the 1.63 for SE., both of them still give this notice. FNIS says there are absolutely no issues and I tried installing the Util separately, nothing works at all. I completely de-modded my game ( I have less than 150 mods, shouldn't be a data/ram issue, my computer is a god it eats programs like this before breakfast) I downloaded all the little patches and fixes I could find from the author and in this thread and I'm about to pull my hair out. If anyone can tell me anything that I can do in any manner that makes sense, please do because I'll try anything. I haven't been able to actually play my game in 3 days I'm running out of options T.T

Have you reinstalled SKSE for runtime 1.5.97?

Another thing you can try is DepotDownloader w/o using the patcher.
https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader/releases/tag/DepotDownloader_2.4.5

Follow the video's tutorial instructions for downloading. The instructions are the same for any steam game. The app, depot, and manifest IDs for Skyrim SE are provided below.

In another tutorial it was suggested to unzip DepotDownloader in the root of the C drive (C:\depotdownloader ) and create a subdirectory to download the games depots under "C:\depotdownloader". I used "C:\depotdownloader\oldSkyrimSE"

The commands have been updated to an exe.  In CMD window. Within C:\depotdownloader directory. You can use the following commands. If you use Steam's two factor authentication you will need to get the code after the first command and answer the prompt.

DepotDownloader -app 489830 -depot 489833 -manifest 2289561010626853674 -username <YourSteamUsername> -password <YourSteamPassword> -dir C:\depotdownloader\oldSkyrimSE
DepotDownloader -app 489830 -depot 489832 -manifest 8702665189575304780 -username <YourSteamUsername> -password <YourSteamPassword> -dir C:\depotdownloader\oldSkyrimSE
DepotDownloader -app 489830 -depot 489831 -manifest 7848722008564294070 -username <YourSteamUsername> -password <YourSteamPassword> -dir C:\depotdownloader\oldSkyrimSE

I had continuing CTD starting animations in a simple AE setup, only sexlab and its requirements.

As some good soul  pointed in the SOS Thread removing Display tweaks fixed my CTD

How come? Conflicting DLL?

Thanks a lot for this. I spent two days trying to find the culprit. Turns out that activating the Apply Facial Expressions option was crashing my game. Then I read your comment and uninstalled the Display Tweaks. Problem solved.

No problem, this come from Schong of Skyrim thread, we are quite a few to have this bug

I tried disabling the Havok stuff from display tweaks, but it crash anyway.

EDIT:

It seems the newest version of display tweaks fix the issue, so it seems a problem in the previous release

Yeah, the changelog says "AE: fixed crash caused by SetExpressionOverride patch". I'll give it a try, thanks

Edit: Quick test, it's working :)

Cheers. I've fixed the issue with the "outdated/missing Sexlab dll". I tried the AE version and everything worked fine. The confusion for me was with the latest update ie ( even if you do not BUY the "AE DLC expansion" you STILL have the AE version. The latest "free update" to Skyrim makes your current game version the AE version.

For anyone with this issue (& the latest Skyrim update) just download the AE version of Sexlab + the AE version of "Address Library for SKSE Plugins".

SLF 1.63 release (one that is available on download page) is for Skyrim SE 1.5.97

upgrade/update your beta 9 with it

edit:

or do not update if your are happy with 1.63 beta 9 - it's up to you

So I've gotten it all to work, got the right versions but sexlab still isn;t detecting papyrus?

I'm at my wits end on this, this is the only thing not working.

You might have a mod that is overwriting the papyrus from Sexlab. afaik Sexlab's dll files should always be selected to win any conflicts. I'm using vortex so when there's a conflict it will ask you to select which file should load last.

edit: You could try dropping the dlls files from sexlab's skse folder in to skse's plugins folder and overwrite the "old" ones and see if that works.

I see reference that the papyrus version in sexlab is now more up to date than nexus. Is that the case for both AE and SE versions, or just AE version. Need to know as I play se and usually overwrite with the nexus papyrus version.

I have sexlab to load before anything else, mcm registers is but sexlab won't register papyrus despite other mods doing so.

I'm not sure where to even find those files to give that a go?

wait...am I being rly dumb and choosing a mod to load BEFORE another means the one after is overwriting it?

Yea, whichever mod is lower in the list will be loaded last thus overwriting other mods with the same files. It gets messy though because some mods might need to overwrite sexlabs stuff... so you're probably better off making your own mod with the same file structure as sexlab's skse folder with just the 2 plugins in it. Name it skseSexlabdlls (or sumtin) then drop in your Mod organiser's mod folder and use the organizer to load it last.

I have a question, I am currently on SE 1.5.97 using Sexlabframework 1.63beta8, is the 163 download on the front page newer and different from the version I have now or the same? If its newer is there a changelog I can read to find out what's new and different from the version I have? What exactly is new/different in v164b the changelog on the frontpage is very very vague tbh.

I, too, am on a not-current version of SexLab Framework that I got from GitHub at the end of April. It has most of the Beta9 improvements and none of the Beta9 heartbreaks. I call it Beta 8.5 although since it was the last one before Beta9 dropped, I suppose I should be calling it Beta 8.9. Whatever. It Just Works™.

1.64x is for AE only. 1.63x is Beta9 with the same improvements/bugfixes as 1.64x only it is for SSE 1.5.97. @OsmelMC should be along momentarily to direct you to a Beta9 changelog he wrote a week or so ago. As far as I have seen, there is no 1.63 or 1.64 changelog. There are mentions of many needed improvements, and many false bug reports too, but it's kind of a mystery what exactly has been fixed, and when.

Right now, we are in the Wild, Wild West of SKSE64 modding, like we were at the beginning of the first Crapware Club fiasco 4 years ago, what with Bethrosoft pushing game-breaking stealth updates weekly. So now would not be a good time to let your game be updated. If you have a version of the game, SKSE64 and SexLab Framework (and related mods) that is in good working order, continue to block Steam updates and just enjoy the game as usual while we all wait for the dust to settle.

Bethrosoft, LMAO love it, yeah no way in hell can Steam update my copy of SE, I have everything blocked in my firewall, the manifest file set to read only, and the update only on game launch (doesn't always work) set. Blocking via firewall works wonders, Skyrim can't talk to the internet thru the firewall with it blocked and I use Peerblock to block everything related to Steam (really hate steam) so I'm good on that end :) .  So yeah I'm on 1.5.97 of SE (last ver pre AE), SKSE 2.0.20 (last ver pre AE), and SexLab Framework 1.63beta8. Everything works fine for the most part, I do run into a few glitches/bugs here and there, the biggest being a very annoying as hell camera bug/character bug (more character than camera) where at the very beginning of an animation scene the player character not just the camera but the character and camera spins in place around in a circle about half a dozen times and ends up misaligned when the animation finally plays causing me to have to use the reset/realign button to get em' back in the right spot. Only one of my 9 characters does that and no clue as to what caused it either, just all of a sudden out of the blue she decides she's gonna spin in place like a freakin ballet dancer before starting to fuck so IDK... It was funny as hell the first couple of times, now it's just annoying.

Anyway, I saw the update and was just curiously wondering what the difference between 163beta8 and 163 actually was and if it was worth updating or not, reason I was asking about a full changelog. If there is any chance in hell that it inadvertently fixes the spinning character bug I'm experiencing that's just icing on the cake :) .

Good morning
I don't know if it's been mentioned already, I'm trying sexlab with 1.64b with AE version, it seems to work, but i can't reassign hotkeys, if i do i can't get out of skyui interface anymore, when i press esc, the screen of skyui continues disappears and reappears and i can't go back to the game

Thanks for all the work done

I seem to have the same problem as some other people do. I run Skyrim Anniversary Edition, I downloaded the latest SKSE for AE; build 2.1.3 (runtime 1.6.323), I have Sexlab Frameworks v1.64b installed as well the DLL appears to be in the correct folder, and yet I still get this error. What am I doing wrong?

so I've finally got sexlab to recognize papyrus then I received the 'outdated or missing 'sexlabutil' error...the issue lay with version inconsistencies that i'd managed to look over.

The biggest issue myself and others seem to have is we're installing mods for SE when they're actually unknowingly in the AE, go in game load up a save and press ESC, look to the lower left corner and you'll see the game version you're on. please make sure SKSE, papyrus and address Library are all the right versions or you won't get far.

So I had 3 mods that conflicted and this was my first obstacle. Campfire camping mod, papyrus and sexlab. To get them to work together I have papyrus load *after* Campfire and *before* sexlab and campfire loads *before* sexlab.

Viola it now all works and installs when in-game. Now I just have to wait for other mods I'd like to update to AE :<

I read somewhere that the hotkeys assignment problem is a SKyUI thing. After reassign a key, it freezes and you can only save or load a file, with a crash after that, right?

There's a workaround. Not ideal, but it works for me. First, reassign the key you want (just one). Then, when the menu screen reopens, just click on Quicksave and wait. Eventually it will come back to the game with a quicksave notification. Wait until it's done and type anything. The game will CTD imediatelly, just as before. Reaload the game (the quicksave file, of course) and the key will be reassigned.

I never had that issue. But my first guess is that another Mod have the new key already assigned and is trying to execute something when you got the key.

Just set another key...
