From the BETA 8 to the BETA 9 is enough with override the old files and open the game. The SexLab should detect the change of version and automatically run the update process.

From a previous BETA 9 of the GitHub to the new BETA 9 you have to also execute the "Clean System" option on the SexLab MCM because that option force the system update.

Tried on an existing save but seems to not like something as i get

Unhandled native exception occurred at 0x7FFF41CC9F37 (PapyrusUtil.dll+9F37) on thread 30532!

Few seconds after the update finishes

Crash_2021_8_5_17-8-33.txt

on a new game goes fine

Edit: Must be something screwed in that save as i put beta 8 back and tried clean and gives similar thing - Unhandled native exception occurred at 0x7FFF431D9F37 (PapyrusUtil.dll+9F37) on thread 26108!

Odd i've been able to keep playing til lvl 107 without noticing but don't usually use the clean option much

When I upgrade to beta 9 all of the pre-installed sexlab animation vanish. I can still make the SLAL ones show but no 'vanilla' ones will appear.

Ran FNIS (of course), reset anim registry, used SLAL to rebuild registry, reset the mod using the option in MCM, nothing nada all of the original anims simply fail to show anywhere in the menus.

Tried on a new game also, same problem.

Sadly I don't have enough experience with this type of log to be clear about the reason of the problem, but still I can share few common advices in order to help you:

First be sure that you are using the last SKSE available and of course all the mods that are required to run the SexLab. The Mods you have to check are the ones on the system requirements list showed on the SexLab MCM, SexLab check if you have the min required version but is always better if you use the most recent version.

I always Save my game on small rooms with less possible amount of NPCs (usually inside vanilla houses) to avoid issues in case of update some Mod.

Check and clean the old game Save using the "ReSaver" tool, many of the update issues are caused by corrupted saves and the old tools to clean the save can't solve or detect those corruptions so my recommendation is the ReSaver that is part of the "Fallrim Tools"

Some time when I can start a new game but I can't load a old save, I first start or load the save of the new game and once fully loaded I Load the old save and work's.

In case you update a mod file always remember wait few minutes once you Load the saved game before try something (in some cases I don't even move) that way you give time to the system to make all the updates required. And once all the updated Mods notify me that all the updates are finished I always Save the game then change location and save the game again just to be sure.

I never have problems with all those steps, remember that even with all the updates Skyrim still is a old game with bone issues and need some care.

Install the new BETA 9 over the old BETA 8 and make sure that you don't have some mod installed to remove the vanilla Animations.

First I'm not open the new setup file yet and for that reason I don't know if still include the vanilla Animations.

Second if you have some mod to remove the vanilla Animations you won't be the first that forgot about that. Those Mods usually don't start to work at lease something reset the Animation Registry like happen on this case as part of the SexLab update process. That means that you can have the mod to remove the vanilla Animations installed and don't noticed until update the SexLab, use the Clean System option or reset the Animation Registry.

By the way I don't think this be your case but the SexLab have a Black List for the Animations that allow you select the Animations that you don't want to be Registered the next time the Animation Registry be reseted. This black List is 100% functional on this version (on previous versions just 50%). You can edit and clean this List on the last page of the SexLab MCM.

current SE build is built in a way that if you remove the default animation fnis behavior files and re-run fnis, the scripts should detect they aren't present when building the animation registry and skip them.

However, it's largely unknown how much effects removing them has on other sexlab mods that might depend on them.

Did you already do this because the game isn't loading any 'default' animations now with beta9?

No, I like some of the default animations and have never removed them. Only suppressed a few of the truly ancient ones.

I think Ashal may have removed the behaviour files because they don't show up in FNIS's window either after I rerun it with beta 9 installed.

Edit: Something was definitely done to the behaviour files, on inspection their file size is slightly different, and if I replace beta9's behaviour files with beta8 they show up in FNIS again.

Edit2: Even after replacing the behaviour files so FNIS runs them, they still don't show in-game with beta9.

For those that are not used to update the SexLab.

Before update the SexLab is always good idea Export your SexLab Configuration and the Expressions in case be doing some changes there.

And

After update the SexLab and see the notification and the pop-up window saying that SexLab is updated.

The first thing is check the SexLab configuration because some things may be changed, like the option to allow the Creature Animations for example. Import the Configuration should solve that but I prefer check by myself too.

Second you have to check if all the Animations are registered, this usually take some time but more important is check Mod like the "ZaZ Animations Pack" and old versions of the "Estrus Chaurus" because the Animations of those Mods need to be manually Registered.

Is possible but in that case is enough with override the old BETA 8 with the BETA 9 to keep the old Animation and behavior files.

Like I said I haven't looked yet the setup file posted here so I don't know if include the default Animations. And yes, at lease one time I hear about remove the default Animations from the setup file but I against of that because many Mods relay on some of those Animations and besides not longer be needed since now is possible install even 2000 Animations of each type without issues also is better just disable the unwanted Animations or add them to the Black List on the worst of the cases.

Now you have to reset the Animation Registry to allow the SexLab to detect the default Animations.

The blacklist is something I already knew about. It can't be that as I only have a few anims in there, mainly the ancient AP ones and a couple of ones that have been broken for years (cough Di BJ cough)

Keeping the old behaviours got me excited because at least then FNIS saw them, but they still WOULD NOT show up ingame.

@Ashal

I ran the full clean system which reinitialises the entire mod, including anim registry, right?

Just gonna wait for Ashal to show up now and see if he actually has done something. Had enough beating my head against a wall.

Does this mean Swe-divx's mod 2000 slots no longer required?

be sure that you are using the last SKSE available

As far as I know, Racemenu (and possibly a couple of other mods) were upgraded to SKSE64 v2.0.17 shortly after it was released, and have not been updated since even though 2.0.18 (buggy) and two releases labeled 2.0.19 have been made available. My game CTDs on launch with SKSE64 2.0.19 installed, and like many others, I reverted to 2.0.17 to solve the problem.

I hope Racemenu and other SKSE-dependent mods can recode for the new Address Library, making it a lot easier to manage these issues.

TL; DR: in this particular case, "use the latest version of SKSE64" may not be feasible for some players. If SLF Beta9 has a hard requirement for SKSE64 2.0.19, I and lots of others won't be able to use it.

EDIT to save you the trouble of responding- just read the Beta9 requirements: SKSE64 2.0.17. Perfect. Thanks.

No problems here with latest beta 9, I'm using all latest mods versions including SKSE 2.0.19.

I already saw some new cool options in SexLab MCM, thank you!

Please clarify: when must "Clean System" be run?

  • Before closing the game and updating Beta9 Dev version from GitHub with the new Beta9 (i.e. the old "clean save" process)?
  • Upon launching the game after installing the new Beta9 over Beta9 Dev version?

Also, will "Clean System" erase all of the previously-included animations?

This means that you can use the Swe-DivX Mod together with the FNIS XXL and the other mod to remove the skyrim internal animation limit. And that way solve all the animations limits issues.

Is clear that my first language is spanish and not the english!!!?

Yes the Clean System option is once installed. And yes that will clean also the Animation list and everything else too, but is the only way to ensure that all the changes are being updated. Even I have to use that option some times after made some important change on the SexLab Scripts.

More reasons to believe that is a problem with the SKSE version.

So, to confirm:

run Clean System option from Beta, save game, quit

Disable mod beta8, enable mod beta9

Start game

Enable beta9 & enable creature anims

Disable defeat

Register Zaz anims

Register SLAL Animaion loader packs

Configure beta9

enable defeat & configure defeat

Just to be clear on the process.

?‍♂️

1. Check and Clean your saved game using the ReSaver tool that comes with the "Fallrim Tools" available on Nexus. Is better prevent than fix problems.

2. Open the game before install the update and export the configuration and all the Expressions that you want to keep.

3. Save the game in a vanilla room with the less amount of NPC possible to prevent issues on the Load Game and the system update for lack of memory. And close the game.

4. Install the update overriding the BETA 8 or in a new folder (is your choice)

5. Run FNIS and Load the saved Game.

6. Wait until the SexLab update process be completed and check the configuration and the "Allow Creature Animations" option. In this point you can import the configuration if is necessary but only if the update is completed.

7. Check the "SexLab Animation Load", the "Estrus Chaurus" Mod and the "ZaZ Animations Pack" Mod in case some of them haven't registered his animations. If you are using the "Devious Device Integration" you don't have to register the "ZaZ Animations Pack" Animations because are included on the DDi too and is recommended use only the ones from the DDi.

8. Once all the animations be registered save the game and Reapply the SLATE actions logs if is installed.

9. Save the game again and change location (leave the room) once all the previous steps be completed.

10. Save the game again and enjoy.

WARNING: Is very important never change location between the steps 6 and 9 because many SexLab Mod react to the change of location and try to start SexLab scenes causing CTD in some cases even if the SexLab if disabled.

Is the included PapyrusUtil at the 3.9 level?

I have been overriding sexlab with it for the last year...

Yes. The version included is actually ahead of 3.9 and is an unreleased update with a few new functions.

Whether or not the default animations are registered depends on some FNIS variables being detected, which can be spotty when it comes to detecting them properly. Aside from making sure FNIS has been run after installing the update, when in game scroll in and out of 1st person, and make sure when you run SexLab's tool to rebuild the registry that you are in 3rd person.

Thing is, unless I copy the behaviour files from beta8, sexlab doesn't even show up in the FNIS window when it's building it's new files. Even then they 'still' don't showup in-game.
