hana120 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 I confirm. Bughtesda have launched their breakup update of mods. I wanted to start the game, and it told me to update SKSE, MO2 say fixed engine, additem menu and others more up to date. Will have to wait a pair of day once more. Thank you Bughtesda! ?

How do I know which is right number for recover that? (I`m quotting an old comentary, so it's no the right version [6411417958676685207] ). Thanks for any help. Edit: I found it (download_depot 489830 489833 2486778358967039909 ) -> 1.5.80 (last SKSE compatible for now). have a good nite Thanks Ploxy and yaboiwut, you're life-savers ? And I wouldn't blame Bethesda too much, it's not a bad thing that they continue to patch the game. Instead blame Steam, which for some incomprehensible reason does not have an option for updating manually rather than whenever you start the game.
fred200 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 No one would blame Bethesda if they patched the game. Only problem is, they stopped fixing bugs years ago. Now it is just CC content for monetization. I fear for Starfield... 3

rb888 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Just backup game folder and data folder and make sure disable auto updated and only lunch the skse launcher not the main one.

Au contraire, mon frère- There are 3 ways to stop Steam/Bethesda from updating your game: Set Steam to update your game only when you launch it, then always use skse64_loader.exe to launch your game, which bypasses the vanilla loader Set Steam to update games only during a one-hour period when your computer is never on (mine is set for 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM ) Set Steam to Offline mode- you will get a dialog asking you to confirm this when your machine boots up, just tell it to stay offline Personally, I use all 3 methods, although theoretically any one of them should do the trick. As an example of how well this works: I am still on SSE v1.5.62, SKSE64 2.0.12 and SexLab Framework 1.63 Beta 5, all of which are now 3 versions behind the current versions. I have not lost one second of game time to any Bethesda update for many months, and I have no plans to update my game until some mod that requires the latest versions offers something I simply can't live without.

Instead blame Steam, which for some incomprehensible reason does not have an option for updating manually rather than whenever you start the game. If you go back in history a year or so, you might still be able to find the statements by at least 2 Bethesda devs to the effect that they would stop issuing cc updates that broke SKSE64 and externalize the cc files so that the core game files (SkyrimSE.exe, SkyrimSE_launcher.exe, etc.) would not need updating, and therefore the cc updates would stop breaking SKSE64. As we all know, those commitments were never kept. Bottom line (IMHO): Bethesda doesn't care about us PC players- we are a mere drop in the bucket compared to the ravening hordes of console players, who couldn't care less about our SKSE-breaking issues since they can't use SKSE on their consoles. Bethesda wants paid mods so they can get a piece of the action for work that they did not do. So while they could (apparently) handle cc updates in such a way that they did not break our games, they have chosen not to.
fred200 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Bethesda also considers free mods to be direct competition to their monetized CC. New CC and broken free mods - is a win-win in their eyes.
hana120 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Bethesda are nice with their mods but most do not offer what modders offer. Do their mods propose changes to characters like BIJIN? No. Do their mods add interesting armor? Not always or very limited! Do their mods offer the possibility of having spacious, luxurious, inventive homes, etc? No! Do their mods add magic spells like Apocalypse, color full, Tombound, Arcanum, etc? No. Do their mods offer animation and cool things like Loverslab? No. Their mods are nice but often limited. Playing in vanilla is nice at first but after a while it goes a bit. Elder Scrolls Skyrim is one of the games that I like a lot because modders, we are free to invent what we want, our imagination is not restrained and limited. We can play what we want, an adventurer, a hunter, a daedric prince worshiper, a psychopath, a legendary magician, etc. And to be able to play with beautiful graphics, to see the characters of the game well styled and very pretty to see sexy is a real pleasure. I'd rather see Camilla frankly like thathttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/517294/ That like thathttps://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Camilla_Valerius And the same for the other characters. Not to mention that their mods are paying.

Except it only makes people stop playing their game because the mods are broken and the save won't work anymore, it won't make them buy their CC crap. It's stupid as hell, but Bethesda have proven themselves to be quite the retard again and again. 1

My dear Musje, Bethesda stopped "patching the Game" Years ago, all they do nowadays is unhidden cashgrab aka paid mods aka Creation Club Updates with more crap and while theyre on it, breaking the free mods community and especially SKSE and everything thats based on it and i wouldnt be surprised if TES6 has no free mods support at all, just to force us all to pay for the mods onley they have control over, which is the deal when the developer gives it to them, they get a fixed pay and then its gtfo, this is now our mod and we will greed the shit out of the people that are so stupid to support that mess. Bethesda has now the questionable honor, to be considered even worse than EA nowadays, especially after Fallout 76 and the new subscription garbage...they want ever more money from us, while at the same point puttin more and more restrictions out and deliver less and less for the money. and regarding bugfixing or good new content...well what are you dreamin about at night?^^ their games are made better and even playable by the players and they are the only reason, the games hold out for so long and what is it Bethesda does, rip that off the modders and people and claim it for themselfs to sell even more crap onto even more platforms and getting peoples hopes up for future projects, whle failing and stabbing them bigtime at the same time. and the worst part...all them console gamers whom have no clue about the PC community or what riches they can get on PC mod wise...so they dont care either and so does Bethesda, they care only for console and CC as they can get the most out of them...when you manage to get a console player to take a look on the nexus and loverslab... well put a some cleaning tools nearby and prepare for the loud thump, when the jaw hits the floor... i had a friend who played on xbox and who attempted to tell me how good and easy it was and how many mods there were... i invited him to me and fired the PC Version and opend all our beloved mod sites... he has a PC now... so enuff ranting. thx for the quick update, cant wait to put sexlab back into working order, also alot of other modauthors are very quick after that crappy new update, racemenu, skse and several others are already updated aswell.

hana120 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 All the better. Only remains Sexlabs, SOS, additem. Fixed engine is up to date?

Its just the way they do it that bothers me. Partially that I don't think that most of what they do is worth it, but that's fine if something isn't worth the money I just won't buy it. Mostly its that they keep breaking the game with each update, rather than having one big update (which would probably break many modded games) that set up all the future CC content.
Jay1646 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 To the people who have the updated Skyrim... Are we all getting CTD's before the main screen pops up?

hana120 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Sexlabs is not up to date. Ashal should put the new version tonight or tomorrow maybe.

fred200 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Steam has client updates - frequently. If you launch using SKSE - and Steam needs an update - it will bypass SKSE and launch the game. That also picks up the game updates. ONLY offline works - if you never let Steam accept client updates.

If they just sold the CC through the Bethesda Store or on the marketplace of whatever console they are peddling the CC to like any other piece of DLC, all of this would be a non-issue since there would be no need to update whenever they sell a new crop of items. 1
Sailing Rebel Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Just a note on Steam update behaviour. I've found the least problematic way to deal with updates is to make a copy of SkyrimSE.exe, allow Steam to update Skyrim, then replace the new SkyrimSE.exe with the old one (but keep the new one as you are going to need it in future). After that Steam will no longer try to queue the Skyrim update even though you are running an older version, unless you manually verify the files.
