SexLab SE - Sex Animation Framework v1.66b - 01/18/2024

i wasn't sure how many animations it would take before the XXL version became necessary.  I actually had no idea how many animations SexLab Framework, i just went with the blanket approach.  I didnt' know FNIS and FNIS XXL had different file structures.  i was just assuming that the XXL version was more of an "add on" for the normal FNIS.

EDIT:  I pulled the XXL version, reran FNIS, used Sexlab Debug spells and the result was the same.  The two people moved close together, clothes disappeared, it told me what animation was playing (it doesn't always do this), and then they just stood there.  It might bear mentioning that the Sexlab hotkeys do not work either.

However, i used the debug spell yesterday, the animation played and the hotkeys worked.  Once.  So i know that Sexlab itself is in good working order, just don't know what's impeding it.  Also, yesterday when the debug spell worked, it played Mito's Footjob animation.  Today when it didnt' work, it was trying to play Mito's Teasing animation, so i dont' think it's an animation problem.

Did you check your save game file in Resaver? If it has too many Stack Dumps, there might be CTD's. Recently I was getting bugged with Dragon's. dragonactorscript was showing too many Stack Dumps. I had to find the particular dragon and had to use placeatme command to bring it near me and kill it, so the script instance gets wiped.

I'll check it out if it doesn't work it's okay.  The crash only happens in Inns and like I said before I've been having problems with Inns crashing for the past year.  I just thought maybe SexLab was conflicting with another mod.  Which I already had ruled out since I tested them all.  Anyway just ignore me.

Btw are you the same Tron91 that helps FF7legend on Nexus?  If so I am a huge fan.  Thank you for your hard work.

After hours of testing i think this is the mod causing the problem:

SexLab Privacy Immersive WIP SE v1.0

I"m not 100% certain yet, but so far, i've not had any animations fail to play.  Now, i get to dig into why after all my testing, i've only seen a few of the same animations over and over, despite FNIS saying i have over 3000 anims installed.  :)

I highly recommend the Normal Version at this moment, it works almost perfectly. The Immersive version is still a WIP. It works well for PC-NPC stuff but very buggy for NPC-NPC.

I have been using the "normal" version for a couple of months with no apparent problems.

Good to hear. You'll never write another book if you write as few words as myself. :D

I have a bit of an odd problem.

My animations all seem to work but appear stuck on one. to try and explain. Lets say I use follow me for sex to kick off vaginal sex. It will play some animation. That animation will ALWAYS be chosen for that character and sequence. If I create a new character it picks a different animation for that combo(follow me for sex>vaginal) but also sticks on it. I have tried multiple mods and they all seem to stick on specific combos. For example using Eager NPCs also has this issue in initiating animations.

At the end of my rope to figure out and about to try just uninstalling all my anim mods and re-installing.

Anyways...this ring a bell for anyone?

Thanks!

I'm having a problem where my Female character is not equipping a strapon when taking the male role in sex animations. I have Females use strapons ticked in the MCM. I checked with console commands and I have 3 strapons available. CBBE UNP and calyps strapon. Any idea why its not working ?

I'm having a similar issue.  I'm using FNIS XXL as I do have lots of animation, but keep it under 500 each (human, creature) when registering them in MCM. The problem persists even if I don't add any SLAL animations. If two females are having sex, the NPC is correctly wearing the strapon, and then if I switch positions of the two the strapon does not appear on the PC. Although I do see at the end of the scene the PC does get the strapon equipped for an instant before they get dressed.

This used to work fine, that is, my PC would use strapons if I switched positions. I've started new games with the same results. Does anyone have an idea why this might happen, perhaps it is some combination of MODs I've added?

UPDATE:  I found the issue with the strapon and it was addressed 5 years ago by b3lisario here:

Any chance of SexLabUtil being compiled with SKSEVR so that SexLab would work in VR?  With the VRIK solution in place?  Along with the other plugins already with VR versions, it seems this is that last item left.  SexLab Light seems to have the VRIK bits which looks fairly targeted.

Have some trouble with facial expressions.

In short:
1) Checked "Apply Facial Expressions".
2) Setup custom expression with 4 phases, for example just bigAhh 25, 50, 75, 100.
3) Push test button on npc - have only one (last) phase played - bigAhh 100.
4) Play animation - not see any animations and my settings..  mood neutral, DST 40 and squint L\R 30 (changed on last phase).

*Lip sinc disabled. Even if i check it alone - actor mouth acting like a fish.. abruptly moving from anything to bigAhh 100.
*installed opparco mfg Command.

How setup this properly? Bug?
I want to see dynamic animation witch changing at least every few seconds. It is what it supposed to be?

Try with Female Facial Animation. It's an LE mod but works in SE as-is.

I'm trying to find a copy of Beta 4. Its my impression that it will work best with Skyrim VR. I understand that Sexlab itself probably isn't going to behave perfectly with VR, but PAHE depends on Sexlab, and I'm thinking the best most compatible version with Skyrim VR would be Beta 4.

You can use SL Light with the VR patch until an SL port is released. Looking at the requirements of PAHE it should work. A problem can be the UI files that the mod contains.

LL has a VR section here.

VR (and VRIK) support would be great. Well, great is not the right work… it would be fantastic!

I honestly don't understand why VR is neglected by so many modders… but that's a different topic.

Oh, I know there's SexLab Light and  a VR patch for it... Unfortunately a lot of stuff for it (including MatchMaker Light) is simply not working in VR either.

Not sure what you want to say here. Matchmaker works in VR the same way it works in Flatrim. The problems you will have with the SSE version of matchmaker in SSE and VR are identical. You can visit the thread of the SSE matchmaker and see the same complaints by players of the pancake game - the spell "fizzles" and scenes do not start. Not sure why you would think the problem with Matchmaker is somehow a fault of VR.

As far as the SL specific support - all mods that need Sexlab work with SL Light and the VR patch - Defeat, SLEN, Random Sex, TDF - all work as expected, DD and ZAZ can also be used. The Oldrim version of Matchmaker also works as expected. If a SL reliant mod doesn't work it is not because of the SL part, but because of something else.

Yes, it is. ?

I don't think VR is neglected. Almost all mods with SKSE dll plugins have VR ports. There are groundbreaking VR mods like VRIK, MageVR and the quickslots. There is a framework that connects Papyrus with OpenVR so many more VR specific mods can be made. I'm actually quite happy with the way I was able to completely recreate my setup from Oldrim in VR. The only thing missing is FloppySOS, hopefully there will be SOS support in CBPC soon. The first person scenes with VRIK are way more ... uhm... impactful than I expected. All and all, I'm quite happy with the way things are going.

Didn't know MatchMaker had the sam problems in "normal" SSE, since I'm only using Oldrim and VR. So, my bad. Many posts in the MatchMaker Light forum suggested, that it was a VR problem. But I might not have taken that critically enough.

As for SexLab Light and the VR patch, yes, they seem to be working (at least I don't get CTDs or error messages, MCM menu is working as well), but somehow I haven't managed to initiate a single scene so far. might have to check my mod installations, load order, etc. … the usual.

What mods are you using for this in Oldrim? Check if they work properly in SSE.

I haven't personally tested the Oldrim's Matchmaker but I have seen reports that it works.

The only SSE mods that do not work in VR are mods with a dll that is compiled for the flat SKSE (but most of them have VR ports) and mods that have UI elements.

So Matchmaker in VR will work the same way it works in SSE. SLEN, for example, definitely works in VR.

If you have problems or questions you can post them in the VR section of LL because we are off-topic here at the moment.

Are you aware of the SSE mod Expressive Facial Animation -Female-? Not sure if it does the same thing in the same way as the Oldrim mod you linked, but just as a matter of course it would seem to make sense to use an SSE mod instead of an Oldrim mod if they both do the same thing.

Not critcizing, just putting the thought out there.

LOL! Flatrim! I love it, but the moniker implies that VR is somehow more 3D than non-VR SSE. Does it really look and feel all that different, other than the motion sickness? I tried to watch a YouTube "Let's Play Skyrim VR" when it first came out and I was seasick within the first 30 seconds, so I scratched the headset off of my wish list at Amazon...

I'll let Gopher answer that (he is talking about the headbobbing in his footage)

Other than that , the difference between playing a game on a screen and playing it in VR is like between watching a party from a window from outside vs been at the party yourself. ?

Playing standing in room scale, with no kb/mouse, but VR controllers in your hands, with nice modded textures, with the player body IK enabled mod - it is quite immersive and personal. I had a strong reaction when I used the clone option in FG for the first time. All my time in Skyrim I have played one and the same looking dude, so I created the same person in VR knowing I'll never see him (the VR port is 1st person only). And then when he appeared I felt angry and threatened at the same time and I literally told him - go away, this is not about you anymore, it is about me.  ANd since then I have been working on integrating first person view for SL Light.

Particularly for Skyrim - the melee is bad, the magic feels quite good (going full Palpatine on rebel bandit scum with your own hands), the archery is very well done. After 1k hours of Flatrim it took VR to finally make me play a stealth archer.

Is it 3d - yes. But this isn't the important factor here. I have been playing Oldrim in 3d with Tridef on a 3d tv for quite some time, but it didn't prepare me for my first hours in VR.

The motion sickness - if you happen to suffer from it, isn't a problem as most games, including the Bethesda ports, offer different methods of locomotion to deal with this.

If you have a good enough PC you can actually try it at home - depending on where you live I guess. In EU at least (and in US I think) you can buy everything you need with an option to return it - no questions, within 2 weeks. Yes, you would need to not play Skyrim for more than 2 hours in order to refund it, but there are enough free experiences and small games to give you a good idea if VR is for you or not. And with SKyrim - you can install ASLAL so you skip the long intro and do tmm 1 to be able to teleport around.

More VR propaganda in SexLab SE thread... Nice xD

I was just answering a question. Sorry I didn't answer in a way you would like ?

You would have noticed earlier I suggested moving the VR support discussion elsewhere - I'm in no way planning to shake the VR-haters tree here.

But I deeply apologize that in 157 pages of comments you were forced to read 5 comments about VR.

P.S. Skyrim VR is SSE + additions. Almsot any discussion about SSE is valid about VR. Now you can proceed complaining about people mentioning SSE in the Oldrim's forums or Oldrim in the SSE ones.

P.P.S. This happens because there is no SkyrimVR subforum next to the Oldrim and SSE and the VR section is way down on the home page. So people do not realize that there is a VR specific place and post in the SSE section as this is the closest thing. If a SkyrimVR section is added where people expect it to be this will not happen.

Also SexLab is one of the very few SSE mods with a dll that do not have a VR port yet. You can expect more and more people popping-up to ask for it as this is the exactly correct thread to do that.

Why so triggered? I don't care about Oldrim, plus there is no Full SexLab for VR so your last points are invalid.

Besides there is already threads for VR.

Hmm, you are the one that popped into the discussion just to tell us how triggered you are. I just apologized because I was raised to be nice to people.

And you "liked" the question, not sure why you reacted to the answer. It is customary among humans to answer the questions they were asked.

If you are doing this to make the mods delete comments, I don't mind - everything after my reply to Vyxenne is pointless.
