Really like all the small details. Now that I think of it, I might have to make the attempt to write something similar to the Argonian themed books(i.e the ones Mizuno has), that he would have somewhere in his room.

Might need to change that line in the first image, just to avoid that problem. Not sure why the "Sovngarde" font doesn't have quote marks. As for the second, I think I have to where he only says it because you ask, and he does not relate things to you in detail.

Oh, so you did notice, that's nice. I did have a bit of fun decorating the room. When I was reading the WIP for Mizuno's journal and came across the line about The Talos Mistake, I knew I had to put that book somewhere he could have left it, and that's why I placed it by his bedroll. And then the other stuff happened as well, like that Mysterious Akavir book, because, you know, the sharks come from there and thus it could make for an interesting read and so.

As for the books, you know my answer already: whatver you write I'll be more than happy to get ingame, so feel free to do so :P.

Crap, that line must have slipped through. As for the quotes, the font does have them, the problem is the quotes you use on your docs. Don't know why, but I have to delete them and type them again myself for them to show up. Maybe it's a keyboard/system language thing? I just use Shift + 2, not sure if other keyboards have them in the same place.

Anyway, it's quick to fix, so I'll change it as soon as possible. As for any other things you may want me to change, just let me know.

I'm a bit of a sucker for details like that. I was perhaps going to suggest something it, so looking through what was there was nice.  :D

I'm thinking of two for him, one kind of a naughty story, the other a bit more of a journal for him, even if it may not be a structured as others.

Added Ko'Maru and Lana to the NPC document, just so the information is there, even if for Ko'Maru it may be a bit late(only one detail is different from his in-game version, that being his hair color, I think?). Also have added a few others, Tsuri I've already mentioned exactly(i.e he is at the Clam Digger camp west of Northwatch Keep).

Arashi, Selachii Vampire, Volkihar Ruins(First Area) - Originating in a small Selachii city in Black Marsh, he traveled to the Selachii capital when he came of age. He sought to become one of the Privateers, but eventually met a woman that ended up saving his life. She was not Selachii, she was an Imperial, whose family had taken to a sea fairing life, staying a number of years in this Selachii capital, raising their daughter. While the two never expressed romantic interest for some time, they still ended up leaving Black Marsh together, traveling Tamriel. (Will be moved to the Follower document)

Lyra, Imperial Vampire, Volkihar Ruins(Valerica's Study) - Raised in the Selachii capital, she found interest in history from an early age. Her meeting with Arashi involved a number of rouge Privateers, not common in those times, none of them being Selachii, who perhaps had a bit of a problem with their Selachii captains holding onto the positions, even the very few who had turned to Piracy. Regardless of him having nothing to do with it, not even having a tie to a ship, he was convenient enough. After she saved him, she ended up leaving Black Marsh with him some time later, traveling Tamriel, learning of it history, it's races. While traveling in Skyrim, she was approached by a mysterious individual, who was offering some serious coin, if she would provide some information. This lead her to a meeting with Lord Harkon, who was seeking information on a certain prophecy, which required locating three rare objects - Elder Scrolls. His offer of coin lead her to discover one, which had blood-red gems inset into the gold. For this, he made her another offer, an incentive to proceed - Vamprisim. The discovery of the second, this one with glowing gold stones, lead to a change in Harkon's attitude. She turned her attention to Valerica, who asked her what she intended. To pursue this course, irrespective of what it could lead to, or to listen to her, and perhaps understand the truth. She chose the truth, which lead to her being an instrument in Valerica's disappearance, while she had no idea about Serana being in interred in Dimhollow Crypt. When Valerica fled into the Soul Cairn, Lyra was to guard the portal, even if she had little knowledge on what was required to open it once sealed, since the final ingredient was beyond her.

"They say the last one has stones that glow in blue and orange. Held within the machinations of a race that spit in the face of Gods, Men, and Mer, I hope your intentions for it, do not cause such a calamity upon the face of Nirn."

Yeah, same goes for me about those details. In my opinion, they go a long way in giving some depth to the characters. If you have any more suggestions for things like that, feel free to post them. Sounds good about the books, BTW.

I'll check out the NPC file. As for the two new NPCs, they sound good. I'll probaly go through the Dawnguard questline on my next playthrough, not only because I actually want to play the game but also because I will want to check out the new Snow Elf/Snow Leopard NPC, so I can take a look at it while playing. As always, it's better if you could create the RaceMenu presets for them if/when I start working on implementing them, though I can give it a try myself if it's necessary. For Lyra, I already have my Imperial/Vaalsark character preset (the one I posted in the YA thread), though I will probably have to make some edits. As good as the Skrillex hairstyle may look to me, it may be a little weird/non-lore-friendly, and even if we don't take that into account, I prefer my characters to me unique. There are some other hairs in Apachii or KS that could fit fine as well.

BTW, about Lana, there isn't any hair that matches the reference pic exactly, but some of them may be good enough. You can take a look at the Khajiit hairs from Apachii and see if there is any you think could fit her, though I'll probably try the ones I have and get back here with some pics when I feel like working on her.

May be a little early for this, but here she is.

Obviously some details would depend on what a user has installed. In the images would be Fair Skin Complexion, a custom normal map from F.A.M.O.U.S, Sporty Sexy sweat, Xenius' Hi-Res Warpaint, 2K Lip Tints, and the SOS Pubic Hair add-on. Of course she would not get that armor either, just the vanilla/DG Vampire Royal Armor.

I packed both the Imperial and Imperial Vampire presets, as I'm not sure which would be required. Also, she uses 0RoyF from KS Hairdos, which may be part of the new 1.4 version.

Still working on Entry 3 for Mizuno's journal, but 4 is done. A small preview, or two.

Lana placed her arms around me, almost like another silent “I'm sorry”. When she let go, she pulled an Amulet of Talos from her pocket. It was one she had for quite some time, which was inscribed with her name. Placing it in my hands, she folded my fingers, holding them for a moment. When she let go, I saw her turn away with hints of tears in her eyes.

Now I broke. No sound, no bawling like a child. Just a steam of tears flowing from my eyes. I will admit, I was not fixated on her. I was not conditioned by time to believe that I needed her. But she was a friend, who I knew could perish for her beliefs. One I may never see again.

“She has left, yes? This one is truly sorry.”

I sat up, and I saw Ko'Maru smiling at me. He shut the door, and I watched as he walked closer, softly sitting on the bed next to me. I was about to tell him I was not in the mood, but he shook his head.

“That is not the kind of comfort you need, my friend.”

And just like that, Mizuno's story is turning out to have way more emotional and character depth than the vanilla game as a whole, lol. The only other characters I would be as invested in would be Serana (though that is in part thanks to Laura Bailey's awesome voice acting) and Odahviing. Yeah, I know, poor Oda doesn't even get that much screen time, not to say actual character development, but I still like him  :D.

Anyway, really good job!

I hate to break up the thought train here, but I've been away for a moment, and I'd llike to ask something real quick..I like to use the SG Renewal textures for this race that was made in the past. Can I continue to use that normals map thingy without it looking weird on this race, or would it need an update?

Huh, I'm not sure if I made any major edits to the textures, though IIRC they should work fine with the current version of the mod. You can try them out, and if there are any seams or issues, just let me know and I'll upload an optional file with them.

I'd say too many throw aside Dawnguard for having a bad plot, since not only does it involve Vampires, but it involves a story that doesn't inherently focus on your character - you are a factor, but not exactly the one things hinge on, so to speak. Though for Serana, some just want to kill her solely because she is a Vampire. Dawnguard adds her as the second character who you could possibly meet, who is a Vampire, that does not attack you on sight. She represents no danger to your character, or to anyone else really, but people still want to kill her the moment they see her. If not then, once they realize the flaws in her character(some of these really being flaws in the game overall, like the game having no way to know for follower dialogue that you just exited a cave, so followers will remark as if you have not entered yet). Plus, she isn't their ideal of a ancient Vampire, and she uses the Reanimation spells too much, which causes problems with their games(which again is a problem with the game overall, i.e the Ash Piles not being cleaned up, without using USLEEP or the original Skyrim UP).

But I still like her as a character. Her actress is good too, Bloodrayne, Full-Metal Alchemist(I LOVED Brotherhood), and anything else I've heard her in.

I like Ohdaviing too, since he is able to go above the nature of his species, just like Paarthurnax. Who is another character I like, and like Serana, people have a similar mindset - Dragons=Bad. Bethesda's choice to have the aptly named quest have no official coded outcome where he can survive, does not help, in spite of the fact that you can make a choice with Arngeir, which does not matter for the actual quest at all. For me, it is not a Dilemma.

Right, so Mizuno's entry 4 is done, and it, along with 5, are now listed in his document. The first part of 5 might not translate into the game, as the in-game books likely cannot do Italic letters, though the quotes are enough.

Fume(Fu-mi) - An explorer in Blackreach, who was able to enter the forgotten city, with an attunement sphere(which is oddly colored). She now feels it is like home, although taking on Falmer is becoming rather stale. She favors two-handed weapons, but unusually prefers to use a conjured battleaxe, rather than a physical one. She has a very fiery personality. Reference, vagabondbastard.(even if she won't have two like that) Information is already in the Follower document.

Great, I'll check it out and start working on the journal as soon as possible. IIRC the game does have the option to have the text set both as bold and as italics in books, but it's the actual font that's missing the different letters and they all end up looking the same as the standard text. I'll check just in case.

Interesting character concept, I like it. Conjured battleaxe, you say? I'm not sure how I would go about it. NPCs do use bound weapon spells, but I'm not sure if that's just their standard combat style/class AI or they require some extra work. There's also the fact that they would probably require some magic abilities alongside the standard "Warrior" stuff or else they may be even unable to use spells at all.

As for the reference pic, I like that face shape. The sidehawk is nice as well, though it's not exactly similar to the one from Nuska, it's more like a mix of it with Mizuno's hair. I'll probably check the latest version of KS Hairs in case there is something I like, but the current Nuska one will be good enough if I can't find anything or I'm unable to port it.

Likely they are a class that has enough skill in Conjuration to use the spell effectively, and for a character that might use no magic other than perhaps that one spell, enough magicka to cast it once or twice before using it up would be fine. Though this could require a custom class, as I'm not sure if NPCs can be given skills beyond what a class already has.

Yeah, I'm thinking either that, or something with a ponytail. I'll admit, the character is supposed to be a reference to a game.

I'm also adding some more possible dialog for Mizuno, a few lines that are accessible once you complete his quest. One of them even allows the player to ask him if reading his journal is okay, though it obviously would not be required.

Yeah, I took a look at the Thalmor agents that are the most prominent bound weapon users that I know of, and they just have the standard bound weapon spells in their spell list. They also have a special Thalmor Warrior class that probably includes a bonus to Conjuration and Magicka so they can cast the spell. I will have to do some more research and try it out first, though.

Huh, a ponytail would probably do as well, but there aren't many of those available for beasts. It's a shame how neglected beast races are as far as cosmetic/hairs are concerned. Sure, Argonians with hair don't make sense, but Khajiits do have hair. There are some awesome modders like Apachii that do something for the furries, even if it's just a limited selection of their huge human pack, but unfortunately they are the minority. I completely understand the authors of KS Hairs not wanting to create Khajiit versions of their hairs (too much work, and they are probably not interested in beast races either), but still, it would be nice to have them. Anyway, I'll see what I can find and/or port.

BTW, somewhat off-topic, but what game is it supposed to reference, if you know? I'm curious. Also, good catch with that drawing. Turns out there are also other versions of it, one with the male bits removed and another with the swimsuit actually covering the naughty bits. I've been thinking of replacing some of the pinup posters from Aether Suite's apartments with some more appropiate versions for Yiffy Age, but I didn't feel like browsing through e621 and the pics I've seen so far are all usually too NSFW for my taste (as in, to have them hanging on the wall as posters, that doesn't mean I don't like them  :P). The non-revealing version of that pic will come in handy for that. If you know of any other pics that could work for that, I would like to know. No need to go crazy looking for stuff for me, though; it's just an idea I had.  :shy:

Undertale. From there, the character may be obvious. If not, it's Undyne. Spoiled myself on the entire game, but I still bought it. I need to actually finish it though. Not that good at "Bullet Hell" games, though if the control was more with the mouse and not the arrow keys, I'd be better at it. I know the fact that it is the arrow keys, adds to the difficulty, but still.

Personally I have no problem with such things. That would be why I made suggestions for the statues in Yiffy Age. Though in terms of images like those, I might usually look for ones that I can use for the main menu in my game, mostly trying to get something close to the character.

Oh, I see. I would have never guessed, lol. While Undertale does sound like an interesting game, I don't think I will actually get to play it, though you never know.

Anyway, how does this look for Fume? I made it kind of in a rush, but it's not like it can be improved much from what I got here:

It technically goes down to her name too, the full being Fumetsu, Undying.

The hair looks good. :D Could it be used for male characters too? Mostly since I have a character who is inspired by this, latex, and that style is close enough.

Sure, the head is exactly the same for both males and females (only the neck part changes), so they can share the hairs.

The thing is, the male KS hairs may look a bit weird on females, and same goes for the female hairs on males. There's also the fact that RaceMenu is unable to load head parts set for both genders, and that's why when loading a shark preset you have to manually select the eyes/earrings and some hairs afterwards. Still, those are only small caveats, so I will probably make all hairs available for both males and females.

Okay, working on implementing Fume, or at least her NPC entry, so I can test the Bound Battleaxe thing. Where was her document entry? I've checked the NPC document and she's not listed there.

Her information is in the Follower document. It would be odd to have such a character stuck in Blackreach, having no use otherwise.

Also added a slight bit more to Entry 5 in Mizuno's Journal.

Oops, yeah, wrong file. I got it now.

I've done some tests on the Bound Battleaxe thing, and it seems like that specific spell was never meant to be used by NPCs. If I give her that spell alone, she only fights either with whatever secondary weapon I give her (like daggers and so) or with her bare claws if she hasn't got any. On the other hand, whenever I use the console to give her the Bound Sword spell, she immediately casts it and uses the bound sword, so it's just a problem with the Battleaxe spell.

What can be done is to add the actual Bound Battleaxe weapon item to her inventory. It's invisible on her when sheathed, and it will not show up in her inventory when you open it because it's marked as "Non-Playable". This means she doesn't do the "bound weapon cast" anim, though, she just "unsheathes" it and it appears on her hands. This may be a little hacky, but it's the only way to have her use the bound battleaxe unless we change that into the actual sword or war axe spells instead.

BTW, one thing I've been meaning to suggest. I see most (though not all) of the female characters you come up with are supposed to use a female SOS addon. While this is OK as far as I'm concerned (It's double the fun, after all  :P), I think it would be a good idea to acknowledge and reference this fact in the race's lore. Like, mentioning somewhere (be it in books or in dialogues with Mizuno or any other NPC) that sharks can indeed turn out to be hermaphrodites or have similar non-standard genders. This would not only help with all the females with schlongs, but it would also come in handy when implementing Kawako (if I ever get to that  :s).

I would guess it is technically a design flaw. I.e they made the One Handed weapon Bound spells work for NPCs, since they wanted them used on mages who might not always spawn with a normal weapon(i.e some of the Falmer classes?)

Perhaps she should be given the Bound Sword spell instead. This would actually allow her to summon it, obviously, rather than it just appearing out of nowhere in fights.

I think I have an idea on that. Something similar to Mass Effect's Krogan, only without the genetic disease. If most of the race are Warriors, it might not be a stretch to consider that they would very much not be interested in the propagation of the race, or may not survive long enough to do so, depending exactly what they do. Perhaps not to the same extent as the Krogan, i.e you would still have Selachii bearing children. But something might have jumped ahead of itself some time ago, and thus it is not exactly rare for Selachii parents to bear a child that is a mix of both genders.

Otherwise, if you mean the human schlong option...that is just due to the reference images. Mostly. There seem to be two images when searching with the "Sheath" tag(along with the other one that may be obvious), although a few more are not tagged with that, and it's a bit more vague.

I would guess it is technically a design flaw. I.e they made the One Handed weapon Bound spells work for NPCs, since they wanted them used on mages who might not always spawn with a normal weapon(i.e some of the Falmer classes?)  Perhaps she should be given the Bound Sword spell instead. This would actually allow her to summon it, obviously, rather than it just appearing out of nowhere in fights.

I'll see about implementing the Bound Sword spell, then.

Well, I wasn't considering an in-depth explanation about it (though now I'm all for it), mostly just mentioning it as a fact so that those specific NPCs are not that out of place. Still, the more lore they have, the better, so that Krogan-like thing is a good idea to implement it into the lore. I'll wait to see how you develop that. Perhaps mentioning not only in dialogue but also in that book could help? Maybe it could be listed as a "bad" trait if the book is biased as it has been implied so far, kinda like when hyenas were though to be hermaphrodites and that was considered as one of the "bad/evil" traits they were given to end up being unpopular or "bad guys" in general.

Nah, I didn't mean that. While I personally prefer the beast sheath schlongs, the human ones are fine as well. The only caveat I may have with that is that the part of me that is a bit OCD about stablishing and keeping to a lore is not really happy with some beings descended/evolved from sharks and living in a world populated almost exclusively by anthros (due to Yiffy Age) randomly developing male bits equal to those of humans in the case of some specific individuals/groups. I could always swap all of the NPCs to use the sheath and leave the human one for players to use it if they want, but I guess leaving them with the human schlongs is not that bad either, and it helps is spicing things up.

Okay, one small suggestion: instead of placing Fume deep inside Blackreach, which requires you to be well into the Main Quest or at least reach Septimus Signus' Outpost and take up his quest, why don't we place her somewhere else more accessible? There is even a similarly Dwemer-related place she could be in: Reachwind Eyrie. It's a well-preserved Dwemer tower with some loot still inside, and it also has a balcony with some really nice views of Skyrim (at least lore-wise, because without DynDOLOD it looks like crap ingame anyway, lol).

I would have to check it out first, but it may be even possible to clean the place up a bit and set up a camp/home for her. That way we could also add more dialogues/quests specific to her down the road, just like with Mizuno. Just my two cents, though. I don't know why, but I really like the idea of her character, and setting up a "base" for her just like Mizuno has his camp would IMO help in establishing her as a relevant character.

Something I might need to do, is a second version of the book. The one possessed by the College would be a "censored" version, similar to the books in-game concerning Barenziah. Though this would be more about slandering the truth, rather than removing passages. The full book would be in the possession of Kaiyo - since his sister, Marin Kai, wrote it. Though she isn't planned as a NPC, since she is not in Skyrim at all.

The College's version(perhaps bought from Urag, as maybe they have a few copies) could be perhaps taken to Kaiyo(though not strictly a quest), and he would tell you the truth about it, and perhaps give you the full book.

Along with this, I've come up with a name for this perhaps often mentioned Capital City. Same-Shuto(Sa-me Shu-to).

Her being in Blackreach is almost another unintentional nod to Undertale, as would be bringing her out. Still, I can see having her somewhere else. To still get something similar, I'd suggest somewhere in Mzincheleft, the "Depths" area.
