Question:

With hdt-SMP now under the MIT license, would it be acceptable under LL rules for me to post a working version of hdtHH_1-5-97 here?  It was omitted from the nexus downloads.  I realize a lot of people don't actually use it as much anymore but...

Is there a more appropriate venue?

Thanks all

no reason it wouldnt be allowed

People here seem to heavily prefer UUNP. Last time I was playing Skyrim, UUNP had no bodyslide options. I had already gotten CBBE up and running by the time I discovered that UUNP could be used with bodyslide now. But I find myself wondering what it is about UUNP that makes it so preferable over CBBE, especially among modders. I realize CBBE has a bad reputation for having unrealistic proportions... but seems like that could be fixed in bodyslide... and there are, in fact, bodyslide presets available for CBBE that are more realistic. Is that the only reason? Or is there something more technical in nature that makes UUNP "better".

I too am curious about this. The tails are actually equipable items... so, like wigs, it should be possible to give them collisions and weight. But! They are also animated... so not sure how that would affect things.

UUNP has always worked with BodySlide-SE. Statements to the contrary are simply false.

I can't speak for all of the "people here," but I personally prefer the UUNP "zeroed slider" shape to the CBBE one (I have never used CBBE as my default bodies in SSE but I have some followers who use CBBE so I do have a limited basis for comparison.) Secondly, most of the CBBE shapes I am seeing in people's screenshots are what I would call "thunderthighs and superboobs" women whose look does not suit my personal taste at all. I realize that some of that is fixable in Bodyslide, but to be honest I haven't seen a CBBE-SE body yet that made me all wet and tingly, while almost every UUNP body I see makes me that way. Screenshots on request. :classic_biggrin:

Also, since I started using UUNP in Oldrim, I have accumulated thousands of UUNP outfit items over the years- some of them were UNP to start with and others I have converted from other body types for my own use.- I have even gotten author permissions and published a few of my conversions. The thought of making conversion sets to CBBE-SE for all of those outfits is daunting- most of my outfit mods comprise several items that would need to be reshaped and re-referenced if I were to switch to another body type. My LUX ("Luxury Collection") mod alone would take me 6 months to convert. Just no.

Finally, from reading this and other threads, it seems that installing CBBE-SE is a complex procedure instead of a simple button-click to build it into the game, and people seem to be having issues getting physics and collisions to work with it as easily as getting them to work with UUNP.

Many people have been duped into switching to CBBE based on statements to the effect that "UUNP is not compatible with SSE BodySlide." This is simply false- UUNP works great with SSE Bodyslide. The BodySlide Team has stated that they will not support UUNP in SSE, which is fine. But UUNP still works in BodySlide, has the presets and sliders people want (7Base, Demonfet, Succubus, UNPB, UNP Pushup, Cleavage, many more), is simple to install and use and has great textures that "just work" (Leyenda Skins and others) without all the issues I have seen posted here on LL and elsewhere surrounding wonky vagina textures for CBBE-SE. Again, I am far from knowledgeable about CBBE, so what little I know about it comes from a couple of followers in my game and what I have read about it.

TL; DR: Some of us just prefer UUNP for a variety of reasons.

Here's a copy of hydrogensayshdt's high heels 1.5.97 files from 9damao - the esm has been converted to form 44 and the english MCM translation files have been swapped.

Please check the Readme for the credits and details, let me know if I missed something.

For those who want it.

Just as info, I removed HDT-HH from my system, allowing Racemenu High Heels (FKA NiOverride High Heels) to handle my height offsets, and picked up about 5 fps.

I agree with Vyxenne.  Uunp and the whole family looks more natural to me. The only cbbe based body I like is Cosio HD.  I have been using uunp since I first played oldrim around 2015 and 2016.  I mean just because cbbe got an high poly and stuff updated don't mean it's better for everyone.  I love uunp and always will love it over any body mod.  Second is Jane bod from fo4 and third now is cosio HD from oldrim.  There are more skin textures and armor conversions and awesome tutorials for uunp than any other body mod in skyrim and skyrim se.  I mean there are alot of people who still prefer uunp and the family and I am one of them.

That's why I redo it for myself .. I don’t like cbbe (except 3bbb, but the thing is different) for some reason, and since I also have accumulated a lot of resources for it, I switched to coshd body for a long time, at first I simply adapted it and then “it all started”. Now there is a full body that I like and I can use the whole bunch of materials that have already accumulated. cbbe is quite enough for clothes (for me), and if necessary, I can port as I need.

Oof. ? Looks like I was one of the ones duped. Never bothered to even try it based on being told it wasn't supported.  Wasn't SSE though... this was Oldrim around 2013-ish.

I'll admit I look for a more "(unrealistic) amazonian" appearance in female PCs. Ripped musculature (but not bulging), porn-star jublies, and buttocks you could crack walnuts between. Not really concerned that much with "realistic proportions"... though extreme stuff like "thunder thighs and boobs twice the size of the woman's head" tend to be pretty meh for me. To each their own, right? Currently using a tweaked SevenBase-ish custom preset. Still needs a lot of work. I had a painstakingly perfected body back when I was playing oldrim years ago... my Witcher-esque warrior babe/queen. But it's long gone. Might give UUNP a try instead, given what you've said.

Anyway, thanks for the info dump. And sorry if I stepped on any toes.

Do you have UUNP bodyslide preset to share us?
After your suggestion, I dropped the UNPB and I'm also using the UUNP body. But I need several preset to play with.

I want natural type preset (from ultra slim to ultra thick/busty-booty), but I also want a very muscular "bodybuilder"-type, for my Bijin warmaidens. I want these ladies to have abs, muscular thighs, biceps, etc.

Question:

Are the "Oldrim" UUNP Bodyslide preset working in SSE?

I mean, I have a SSE UUNP body install. Can I play in Bodyslide Studio with "Oldrim" UUNP presets? Because in SSE, there are 4-5 only available presets (in "Oldrim" pages there are dozen of them).

Vxyenne's tutorial

Yes you can use uunp presets from oldrim into sse bodyslide

Thxs a lot. So, you're not "just like that" installing the UUNP preset, you need to use the nifconvert tool.

Here's another tutorial that will help as well Buck_Flizzard's tutorial .  And yea I do what I can to make sure I don't give up on my beloved uunp paradise ?

You didn't step on my toes at least.  Its just that since SSE came out all most people said was "uunp is low poly, cbbe is higher poly and better" or "uunp is old news now cbbe is better"  (not exactly like i said but u get the picture).  Honestly I'm use to people at times putting down uunp, it doesn't phase me at all.  Use whatever body mod you are comfortable with.  Don't let others tell u which body is better and such. ?‍♀️

Please let's not confuse terminology- it is perfectly fine for anyone to choose not to support (whatever) in their work going forward. I have no issue with that.

However, there is a HUGE difference between "not supported" and "doesn't work." Those "does not work" statements are the ones I have issues with.

And there's no point in rehashing it. My only reason for this post is to prevent you and others from conflating "not supported" with "doesn't work."

So I decided to give UNP a shot, and I have the body installed along with HDT SMP but I don't get physics. If I install CBPC, physics work. Is it possible to get it working without CBPC? Maybe I don't have the right xml files?

Make sure you load order right way too.

Just a quick response to let you know that it is possible to get UUNP body physics working with the SMP physics engine alone, no CBPC required. In fact, I did it last night as a test to see if my improved xml's would allow me to run SMP-only without catastropphic freezes, slideshows and other anomalies. It worked fine for the first 5-6 minutes,, but then I got the dreaded boobs-to-infinity-at-5-fps bug and had to bail, so I re-enabled CBPC, disabled SMP body physics again and partied on.

NOTE: If you're running game version 1.5.97 and Aers' latest bug-fixed, improved SMP files from the Nexus, you should have better luck than I did- I'm still using game v1.5.62 so I can't use Aers' stuff yet.
