I believe this is the heart of your problem, although you haven't given enough info to positively diagnose it- what game version are you on? What SKSE version are you on? What HDT-SMP version are you on? The last two versions of the game and HDT-SMP are 1.5.62 and 1.5.73. There is no "x63" or "x72."

 

Your 3 versions must all match: Game, SKSE64 and SMP physics. According to your post, this is not the case in your installation, which is why you are having "issues." Assuming from the slightly-off versions you provided that you are on the latest version of the game, here's what your versions should be:

• Game v1.5.73
• SKSE64 v2.0.15
• hdtSSEFramework_1_5_73.7z
• hdtSSEPhysics_1_5_73.7z released April 17, 2019- both earlier releases of hdtSSEPhysics_1_5_73 were bugged so the release date is important
• Optionally, CBPC v1.1.6 or 1.1.7, provided that you disable SMP body physics! This is the part I did not see in your post. CBPC is optional because SMP is perfectly capable of handling body physics all by itself, and apparently you have already installed the CBBE xml's required for it to do so. If this is the case, you have both CBPC and HDT-SMP fighting each other for control of your body (be still my heart), and it's a wonder you can even launch your game in this condition.

Go to any post by @Gromilla (such as the one at the top of this page) and click the Archives link in his signature bar. There you will find all 3 HDT-SMP files for runtime 1.5.73.

 

You must choose which body-physics provider you want to use and then remove/disable the other one.

• To use SMP for body physics, simply uninstall CBPC and any related CBPC configurator such as SINful CBP
• To use CBPC for body physics, remove or rename Skyrim Special Edition\Data\skse\plugins\hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs\DefaultBBPs.xml. You can also (optionally) remove the other xml files in that folder - the ones you got from the CBBE page - since CBPC doesn't need them.

sorry for being confusing. the CBBP SMP is supposed to be an HDT config file and I couldnt remember if I should describe its position as above or below HDT. I am on version 1.5.62 and couldnt remember the 1.5 part so just replaced it with an X. my HDT files and and SKSE are for 1.5.62. since I somehow managed to completely fuck up my mod list for Skyrim in Mod Organizer by trying to set up another profile for a different game and ended up losing several mods I am gonna have to fix that first then try updating to the 1.5.73.

I had disabled body physics for HDT or at least I think I did so CBPC could do that part though I am probably gonna give up on that when I fix my mods from my latest fuck up. Thank you for your patience and reply

Why does optimizing a mesh kill it, does this only happen for clothes you want in SMP? Is there any reason why not optimizing for SSE would hurt (if it works in SSE) and if so, would we need to recreate the mesh using 3dsmax, outfit studio, etc. to update the mesh for SSE?

 

Thanks for pushing so hard for UUNP. Finally took the plunge and switched everything over to UUNP and it's way better than CBBE due to the extra bones and seems better for performance too.

 

Also, I worked on Yundao's hair and released some XMLs. Do you think gromilla will release the updated meshes soon or should I try to see what's wrong with the meshes (the broken/missing ones)?

@ousnius explained it a few months ago, something about detaching the kinetic bones... And of course, if you can get optimization of an SMP (cloth physics) mesh to work without killing the mesh (parts of the outfit stretch to eternity or CTD or outfit seems to explode, covering the entire display with tan-colored geometrical constructs), by all means optimize it and let us know how you did it.

 

The consensus I have read here and elsewhere is that the only way to "optimize" an Oldrim cloth-physics mesh for SSE is to build the mesh from scratch in Max, Meshrigger, Blender and/or whatever. Way above my meager skillset.

The reason I keep pounding the anvil for UUNP is that there has been so much deception and what I believe to be underhanded tactics used to force people to use CBBE. I have no doubt that the CBBE body is a decent body, but I prefer UUNP and plan to do my part to keep it alive. Also, like you said, I do think it looks better, it has the belly bone (I get wet when I see that UUNP internally-initiated belly bulge during sex) and I have thousands (literally: thousands, 450 of which are in my current inventory today) of outfits that I have hand-made SliderSets for and converted from (whatever body type/shape) to my UUNP Custom Preset. So there's no way I will switch, and I'm keeping a current backup of all my Bodyslide stuff in case they actually disable UUNP for SSE by programatically crippling BodySlide in ways I can't fix.

 

I can't speak from experience, since I have never used "New CBBE" in my SSE, but it is supposedly a much higher-poly body (I saw a figure of 3x more polygons somewhere) than its predecessor, which is bound to be more "expensive" in terms of computer resources to render it and generate body-physics morphs on it because the engine has to deal with so many more vertices than it does with UUNP (or the old CBBE in Oldrim).

Honestly, I don't know where @Gromilla is on YunDao. I refuse to nag him about it - either he'll finish it this year or he won't - but please feel free to contact him directly and offer any help you can offer. The mod is a mess- here is the Open-Office spreadsheet it took me 2 weeks to assemble in order to try to get a handle on how badly effed-up YunDao 5.5 was- I assume it's better now, my Siberian Popsicle  has posted an image of stuff that he has fixed.

 

There are lots of "fans" on my (reluctantly-inherited) YunDao SSE mod page asking about it, but I refuse to be goaded into pestering someone who is helping me for no apparent reason just because people are asking for fixed wigs.

Nice. Well, let me know if there's anything you want to look into. One of the things I've been most interested in knowing is if there is a standard XML syntax for like tags and such. I ended up creating my own method so that different objects can interact with each other. But this current lack of consistency can be a headache with lots of mods from different modders and especially since it's not well documented for end users.

I am back for another exciting round of "what did Simian FUckup this time"

sorry a little irritated with myself. I recently had to reinstall all my mods so for HDT I read and watched various tutorials. I made dead certain I had the most recent files for HDT and XPMSE.

after installing the XPMSE

I ran Bodyslide and made sure everything built was the physics version

I ran FNIS

 

I have no bounce in either the nude body or the clothed body and I am stumped. I followed the Guides. I tested both with a Nord Female and a Succubus Female (custom race) no physics clothed or naked with either. Thinking it was just that the vanilla Roughspun tunic didnt have physics enabled (Though CBPC seemed to think it did as it applied bounce to all clothes when I had it) I tried with several different outfits that I know I built the physics version of. Then I tried a babydoll outfit from Sunjeong and so far that has been the only outfit to have physics.

 

I am going to attach my MO load orders just in case that is needed. I know I have done something badly wrong but for the life of me I cant figure out whata EDIT: added total mod list from left pane of MO2

sorry a little irritated with myself. I recently had to reinstall all my mods so for HDT I read and watched various tutorials. I made dead certain I had the most recent files for HDT and XPMSE.

I ran Bodyslide and made sure everything built was the physics version

I ran FNIS

 

I have no bounce in either the nude body or the clothed body and I am stumped. I followed the Guides. I tested both with a Nord Female and a Succubus Female (custom race) no physics clothed or naked with either. Thinking it was just that the vanilla Roughspun tunic didnt have physics enabled (Though CBPC seemed to think it did as it applied bounce to all clothes when I had it) I tried with several different outfits that I know I built the physics version of. Then I tried a babydoll outfit from Sunjeong and so far that has been the only outfit to have physics.

 

I am going to attach my MO load orders just in case that is needed. I know I have done something badly wrong but for the life of me I cant figure out whata EDIT: added total mod list from left pane of MO2

I have no doubt you already did this, but since you didn't mention it in your post, I'll ask anyway to remove all doubt: did you install the required xml's for body physics? They all go into ..\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\skse\plugins\hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs and include a "master" file named DefaultBBPs.xml plus several body files such as UUNP.xml, Hands.xml, Feet.xml, Schlong.xml, Labia.xml, (actual file names may vary slightly and you may not have all of them, but for sure you need DefaultBBPs.xml and UUNP.xml or CBBE.xml.) You can get the basic xml's from the CBBE page if you're using CBBE, or from @Gromilla's signature bar under any of his posts if you are using UUNP.

 

Another thing to try is to install CBPC and SINful CBP (both on the Nexus) and rename DefaultBBPs.xml to disable it. This will narrow down your issue- if you have body physics with CBPC then you know your skeleton and body replacer are good for physics. If not, well, you know where to look for the problem: your skeleton and/or body replacer is not physics-capable.

Yeah I put the XMLs in the skyrim folder.

I am still only getting physics from Sunjeong outfits. NPCs , My naked Self and wearing anything else and I dont get physics. I will try your suggestion. I have redone FNIS and Bodyslide so many times I am worried I am wearing the paint off the buttons. LOL

I am gonna go ahead and try the CBPC. I was getting physics (butt and boob bounce) when I had it before but just to make sure I am gonna go redownload it and set up for that

With this one sentence, you have told me what's wrong- you have not installed a physics-capable body such as UUNP-HDT, UUNP-Special or CBBE-Physics. Once you do that, assuming nothing is overriding XPMSSE and that you selected the HDT rig map when you installed XPMSSE, naked-you and all female NPCs who are wearing "BBP" armor/clothing will have body physics. Whether or not you still have BBP physics when you are wearing armor/clothing depends entirely on you using/building BBP or HDT armor/clothing mods because every torso piece of armor/clothing contains its own body, and if that body is not physics capable, you won't have BBP when you wear it.

welp I followed your advice and installed CBPC and followed the instructions from Vellis on making the two work together. Now I have bounce when naked. a bandit I checked on had bouncing boobs and butt. I tried a random set of fur armor and had bounce with it.

 

I have the CBBP body installed , I use the CBBP Special body and thats what I build stuff for in BodySlide. (using a preset called Everybodies different) that must mean CBBP needs to be reinstalled which is no big deal and so do my armor mods because now I am getting random errors from BodySlide and several of the Immersive armor variants of fur are making bodies invisible , Kinda like the Doggiebelt item from Zap I think it is (that I wish I knew how to remove entirely)

 

Thank you Vyxenne for all the patience and help you have given me. (love your avatar BTW) the bodyslide errors and invisible armors just started but I dont think it is Either HDT or CBPC causing that. I think immersive needs to be reinstalled because it started right after I put in a mod that adds the immersive armors to bodyslide

Yes, on the CBPC page- as long as the model in question is the default body. That's one of the advantages of CBPC as opposed to SMP- it's much easier to configure.

So I have a random question, why is there no dedicated HDT SMP download thread yet? I've managed to navigate this entire thread and found all the downloads and instructions I've needed fine, though I feel like there should be a single thread/file set up by someone, maybe Gromilla, since he seems to be an expert about all of this, where people can just view the first post and get all the downloads/instructions/etc. so that people don't ask about "where do i find.." or "how do i.." every page? This thread could still be used for discussion while another thread could be a central place for new modders to learn how to download/install HDT SMP.
