Turn the combat surrender off. (it's buggy, and "might" surrender once for every time you took damage. So don't be surprised if you have to escape several times.)

set dcw_enableCombatSurrender to 0

 

If you get tired of Jack the Belter shut it down with the following

set dcw_jackquestchance to 0; set dcw_jackquestchancesleep to 0 (that is 2 commands that can be copy & pasted into the console as 1 line)

After completing the belted quest i found a letter in a loot box with "instructions regarding Alice Jones". Unfortunately I cannot find the hideout in the trade post. After searching in this forum i could find out there should be a trap door behind the counter, but can't find it. Wildly clicking on the ground doesn't helped.

Any ideas what i have to do?

Unfortunately i enslaved Dr. Alice meanwhile, maybe its the reason.

Roll back to before enslaving her.

this is the problem as when you enslave someone (with Just Business for sure) what usually happens is it actually kills

the npc and replaces him/her with a clone that looks identical (and has the same factions) and adds a specific faction.

the problem is this is now a different npc (using different Ref ID) so any quests that refer to the original npcs Ref ID

will not work properly.

Thanks for the reply and explanation.

Unfortunately I'm already in late game. Ignored the letter the whole time until i found a 2nd one in Corvega.

Used "Human resources" btw to enslave her after Alice was always strolling through Sanctuary and blocking my workbenches.

Maybe i will try it again with another run.

This should have never happened. Once Alice gets you out of the belt, and you get the keys to your cuffs, she is sent to a holding cell at that moment. I forget, but I think she's sent to her bunker to wait.

But the point is, she's teleported the moment you grab the keys. So something broke, or ya got some script lag going on.

note this is what i have seen by playing the mod

well something did break for Alice to be in Sanctuary.

Alice frees you from the belt just outside Vault 111, and that is where she stays until you read the note,

which starts the Alice in Wasteland quest.

thought it's maybe a hidden trap door.

Nevertheless something went wrong with my quest line. Maybe i made failure during the story line, maybe a conflict with another mod. But thanks for the screen so i know now, that's no longer necessary to search for the trapdoor. Will try it again with the next run.

It's mod conflict. This trapdoor always is shown, only you can't interact . Today later i will try find save without complete quest and show.

These mods are brilliant but I'm curious. Is there a way to change WHICH devices can be triggered from a trap? I like the restrains and the gags but I don't want things like the plugs and vibrators being triggered.

It's been a good minute since I had DCW activated.
hummm I don't think it's setup for Roggvir's DD Items Manager

But if it is, that'll do the trick.

I dont know if its been reported before but I only have this mod, its requirements, and the CBBE body. Anyway, for some reason I think I have two bodies rendered at the same time, like, one inside the other. Its kind of difficult to see normally, just some slight clipping, but its more noticable if I equip certain restraints like the straight jacket. I'll end up having two sets of arms basically, one hidden by the straight jacket and one not. Or if I equip a set of boots, I'll still see my feet from the other body.

I'm thinking this might be a load order issue? I've tried running everything through bodyslide already thinking it may have been due to something wrong there, and it still may be, but it didnt fix the issue. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming I can fix the problem, are there any recomendations for mods to use in tandem with DCW? I usually only try one thing out at a time so I know where the problem is, I just am not sure if I should be posting here or on the DD main page... didnt expect to hit a snag so early in my modding experimentation is all.

Only a few hundred times. LOL

Completely uninstall Devious Devices and trash it.

Then install the community patch that fixes a crap ton of bugs, including yours, and rebuild the outfits.

 

The attached is a "fixed" version of DCW. Not completely "fixed" but things like broken cells & vanilla quest conflicts. Just overwrite your current one.

 

Boston Devious Helper is great for getting out of DD and Real handcuffs. It's also waaay more fun that DCW, but has a hotkey to completely turn it off/on.
You only need the Boston Devious Helper v0.3.9 - Voice collar.7z

for the Bimbo Collar voice, which is pretty funny.
Then, if you're not already, use F4z Roh Doh in place of the other voice files, which are just silent files. It makes ALL silent voice files, from any mod, skippable and unnecessary.


I'll think of something else, but my wife just made me a banana split! :)

link to AAF setup guide (which has links to tons of stuff)

DD Armor Bench Unlocker can also remove DD stuff (and its adjustable). very useful at times if solo running.

Sexual Harassment can be fun (get harassed if naked or wearing devices among other ways it can do).

 

the linked post has lots of stuff so you can build to taste.

I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong, probably am (PEBKAC and all) but it seems with your hotfix, DCW stops working entirely. Have you come across that or know of a fix?

Can't see a reason it why it would stop.  I've used that fix for years.
If you copy & paste the following command and get an error, it's not active. Otherwise, you'll get cursed loot in every container.

set dcw_cursedlootchance to 100

vanilla is 3.5 btw

Alright, so, I'm not getting an error when I put in the command, but it doesn't do anything. The big issue that's showing the lack of functionality is starting a new game the belted quest doesn't start, it's just a normal start to the game. The chest that has the cutter is there but the key to open it isn't nor are the restraints the quest puts you in. Outside of the vault I went around and looted everything in Sanctuary and nothing cursed

If you not turn off belted quest and it not works, then all mod not work as installed wrong. So cursed loot can't appear as mod not working.

That's what I was thinking too. Just figured I'd test just to try to narrow the issue down. I suppose the next question is, was I just stupid and read too hard into what was said? Is the hotfix a complement or a replacement to Devious Devices?

About what hotfix you talked? Community patch is as new version of DD and install alone (remove all other DD versions) izzyknows file is patch into DCW - it's only mod executable file, what not work without other part of mod and need replace old executable file in mod DCW.

The patch. That's what I assumed judging by what Izzy said. However, even with the DCW patch, the DD community patch doesn't let DCW work. I've checked load order, reinstalled both a handful of times, nothing works

Do you have AWKCR, it's still a requirement for DCW.

My apologies!! I uploaded the wrong hot fix!

I updated the file with the correct one, which does NOT require AWKCR. And cleaned a Creation Kit bug out of it just now.

Combat surrender is off by default now, that causes sooooo many issues.

Note: there's a conflict with RC9 in the hobble speed. To avoid it when running the belted quest do the following.
While in pre war Sanctuary, open The Devious Devices MCM and set the Hobble speed setting to 5.

IF you do it after waking up, it causes a compounding speed increase every time you switch from 1st/3rd person.

Alright, so it seems I've got everything working. Not sure exactly how but I went back through the community patch post and installed both the DD20RC9PlayerRefHotfix and the Devious Devices 2.0_RC9 file and that all seems to be working. The quest is working properly again and I don't see any issues. One final question unless you see something glaringly wrong with how I installed files so far, I can't find a hopple speed, unless you mean the hobble showdown which is defaulted at 95
