True Masters

There are masters out there, true masters. People so good in what they do that they excel and have outsmarted everyone. Master hackers, robbers, thieves, murderers, con artists. There are people out there, that have stolen millions of euros/dollars without anyone ever noticing, there are people that have committed heinous murders, rapes, things you cannot imagine, and they were smart enough to get away with it. There are people out there that are so observant that they can 'read' you after speaking just a couple of words with you, and can then 'break' you with just a few sentences (I've met one and I've seen him make a stranger fall to his tears by uttering just three words, it was like he was a magician.. spooky, weird, very scary and awesome).

There are people out there that went to work for a company, stole millions, then left the company without anyone ever noticing... you only hear about the ones that fail, so statistically speaking there MUST be many out there that don't fail.

That thought scares the crap out of me. They're the true masters, hackers, murderers and thieves, in the background that were never caught..

Also, that's why I like technologies like blockchain, if implemented properly it could sniff out such parasites, simply by following the money.

Fortunately.. most criminals are stupid as fuck... ;)

Like leaving their wallet at the scene of the crime.

If you ever get a summons for Grand Jury, answer it with all haste. It will ease your mind to know how few True Masters there are out there.

Of course, the sheer number of silly kids (and old boys/girls)who sometimes think that they are True Masters which show up before you might replace your fear with annoyance if you don't find it amusing on some level.

I can read body language and microexpressions as easily as other people read road signs. The trick is to not be a sociopath, because sociopaths with lots of mirror neurons are the kind of people you don't want to piss off or inconvenience.

Ah well. It was probably a shitty company to begin with.

if we are on the topic of masters we might as well talk about how corporations hire an army of master lawyers to get away with just about anything. Sue Disney for copyright infringement? Good fucking luck!

I managed to stripe off one of my 'sex' bucket list items.. and though it was an awesome experience, if I think back.. it should have been far more 'impactful'. I decided that the simple reason is that I've seen nearly anything at this point, from interesting, to highly erotic, to gross, to.. well anything that can be found on porn sites, I've seen at this point. Came to a point where I was watching my Netflix while browsing porn, not even aroused at all, just because it's 'a thing to do'.

So.. rigorous intervention time! :D

I did a thing.. I deleted all my locally stored porn (it wasn't much but still had some torrents in my folders).

That's a lie.. I had an external 2TB disk filled to the brim with porn dating back to 2005.

Removed all my links to websites, quick starts to thumbnail sites, the lot. This website is the only thing remotely left that's 'adult' oriented. The reason? It's pretty simple. I think I've finally reached a point where I am just too desensitized to things.

So back to the old fashioned 'no access to pornography' and 'use your imagination' cold turkey stuff.

Also, no more adult gifs in the animated gif thread and no more adult oriented stuff from me, other than Ivy of course. :)

{edit} Also.. this might become harder than I initially thought.. all the more need to see it through.

Dunno aboutt his nofap.

Most of the positive things it brings is some guys actually do something instead just fap all the time, and see the improvements cause they went to gym, aprty, socialise and do something opposed just sitting at home and fapping.

Every individual is very unique. I'm currently suffering from PIED, porn induced erectile disfunction. How do I know? Very simple, I can get it up while watching porn, but last week when I actually HAD the most beautiful woman I can imagine in my bed, it wouldn't spring to life for the umpteenth time (a problem I've been having for 5 years at least). After she left, I came in 50 seconds while watching pornhub, at which point I realized.. I've got a problem here.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unless they know for sure they are having the same problem as I am having. (E.g. I can't get it up unless it's a skinny 21 year old blonde super model, doing the most perverted things imaginable.. and last time when I had a girl that fit that description 99%.... she was 30 and was doing one of my bucket list porn-wishes... it STILL would hardly come up.. I mean it worked in the end but it was difficult at best). Writing erotic fiction worsened the problem for me, stretching my needs even further to more extremes and fantasies.

What really helped me figure out why I needed this was to compare porn with Junk Food. It's the Junk Food equivalent of sexuality. You don't want to eat greasy shit every day. You need to do it with measure, then it stays 'good'. Otherwise it will just fatten you up and make you sick. (This is what I tell MYSELF, I'm not telling anyone that this is the case, it's just what I tell myself to help fight the urges).

I know it's not a physical problem, because I like to edge for hours and it stays hard for hours (this is why it took me so long to realize I got a problem).

So... Now I'm PMO'ing, meaning no porn, no masturbation, no orgasm. My first goal is 90 days, just to dip my feet into 'the water' so to say. In the coming days I will learn how much of a problem I really have (or haven't). It will either be easy to abstain, or it will be (very) hard. The harder it is to abstain, the more I know that I have a problem. I'm sharing this process with some family members and some close friends, 'coming out' wasn't very easy, but despite my free-hippy like upbringing, felt like a huge load of my shoulders, all puns intended.

I'm expecting (and people are experiencing):

- Difficult moments of 'urge'.

- Wet dreams, erotic dreams, dreams of 'watching porn' and 'edging'.

- Relapses

- Vivid flash backs to pornography I've watched often and like.

- The dreaded 'chaser' once I have an orgasm again. (Men can get extreme urges to watch pornography, upto 36 hours after having real sex with a woman).

I'm hoping:

- My PIED will go away

- I can have healthy sex with women again, be aroused by them like I should, instead of by pixels on the screen.

- That AT THE WORST it will help me develop my 'spine' and discipline. Just proving to myself that I could do it 90 days would be awesome and something to be proud of.

In extreme cases people experience:

- The shakes

- Crying for no reason (hormones get fucked up for a while)

It was just on my mind and wanted to share it here. :)

My mind is the biggest thing what can get me off, pics and arts are nice, but I see them as art, porn videos lack anything aside of the blowjob videos I like to watch, but again I just replace the girl with myself there in my head ?

Ehh not sure, nowadays I not feel too much urge to be aroused, and I hate cumming.

Anyway good luck in your quest.

Day 3. Its becoming more and more difficult to abstain. Im having problems concentrating and time moves like a snail. Keeping myself busy with work and anything to take my mind off it. I knew the first days would be hard. But I feel like David against a Goliath of 'urges'.

Shit.. I was hoping... well that it wouldnt be this bad. Looks like it will be a long time before I stabilize.

Honestly keeping off your mind to something fun helps a lot, might be a new time to start a hobby or something fresh Reginald.

After like 1-2 week your urgers will be way smaller.

Definitely. It looks like I'm already close to 'flatlining', just 3 days in. As I was doing PMO every day, sometimes twice a day... today was very strange, I'm almost 'manic', very happy one moment, then I feel 'nothing' for a while.. and I go 'up' again.. My hormones are all over the place, real mood swings are apparently a thing, I never had them before in my life as I'm very stable psychologically. This is a really new experience for me, so I'm documenting the hell out of it.

My energy levels are going through the roof. I had not prepared myself (at all) for such an impact.

Also, and this is logical, my eye-sight is slowly improving. (Turns out.. your eyes really do go bad from watching porn a long time, because when you watch things you like, your lenses 'open up' more, straining your eyes. Edge and watch porn for 6 hours straight 5 times a week... and it will result in bad eyesight). I needed glasses lately to be able to read my phone. I noticed I'd forgotten them this morning. I also noticed.. that I didn't notice until I was home. Very strange, completely unexpected side-effect.

These effects are minor and I'm not expecting anything 'super' to happen. My goal remains to defeat the PIED.

I have a strict regime of seeing friends as much as I can, not playing videogames (especially not Fallout 4 with Ivy.. woahhh..). I'm watching several shows at a time and I've planned my evenings 'double'... meaning that if one of my plans fails, I go to plan B. Anything not to get bored (that's the trigger).

I haven't reached 'cold shower' time yet and I hope I won't hit that really rough patch.

It was also wise to start this in Fall, going into Winter. In spring.. my libido is often really high.

I may work different, but generally boredom effected my masturbation amount, so if I watched anime or palyed game, walked outside or did anything productive, the number drasticly reduced.

After not doing like 3 days, I feel not much desire for it.

I also used masturbation sometimes pain killer, and arousal to help my head aches or during depression mood booster, but when I feel down my arousal is in the abyss.

Good to hear you already notice difference after 3 days

Yes it definitely works differently for everyone. And what you're saying is definitely true. When I was still married we used to go on long trips (e.g. 4 weeks to Italy, etc..). And I would go cold turkey, both from PMO and from Weed. And I never missed any of it, unless we got into fights. It's all related to stress and self-medication.

What I'm currently experiencing is a sort of escalation, like my head is trying to think up of tricks, telling me I can PMO (Porn, Masturbate, Orgasm). It's like the urges are dropping away, they're slightly easier to push away, but they also become slightly more intense, every time they return. As if it's a growing feedback loop. So one time I'm fine, watching a movie, next I see something enticing in the movie and for a short time there's a big 'urge' then it drops again. Natural of course, if you've programmed your brain's pleasure/reward system to cue on seeing naked people doing sex, leading to orgasm and the explosion of dopamines within. They say doing weights really helps so that's what I'm starting with tomorrow.

I saw someone call it 'PPP syndrome' today and I thought it was really apt. (PPP stands for Pot, Pizza, Porn).

These are all the things that increase anxiety and lower testosterone combined into an enhancing cocktail of dopamine addiction and escapism. I fell into that trap in my 20's. I literally did that for weeks then (I was still a student, studying ICT & Webdesign). Order Pizza every day, smoke Pot every day and watch Porn and edge, every day. Even when I had girlfriends. I remember having sex the entire evening with a girl, cycling home in the middle of the night, rolling weed, dialing up (it was still all phone dial ups back then) and slowly loading picture by picture. Do that for 20 years, with only short pauses in between, and your brain just sort of gets 'wired' on 'junk food' dopamine. I still had some of those files on my HD that I formatted, 3 days ago now.

I'm just ranting here, I know, keeps me off the PMO. :P

27 days to go.

THIS IS MY 3000th post on this board, since the two years that I've been active! :)

(And this is one of many posts on the subject as it's really been on my mind, so to speak)

(Last edit: The hormonal influence are becoming blatantly obvious. I'm getting pimples on my face and my skin is greasy.. Like seriously? Just after 5 days of not having an orgasm? I'm 47 years old for Christ's sake. There's a good chance all of this is just placebo effects, but I'm taking it anyway.)

Found a lot of info on programming here in case anyone is interested. I stumbled on it when I was looking into common errors in programming- like Syntax (cannot parse this line) and Runtime errors (that cause a program to ctd). I was looking because my instructor was pointing out how easy it is to make a mistake writing code and I wondered if there was an easy way to find mistakes. Some of these errors look strangely familiar from my games.....:classic_tongue:

The syntax and runtime errors are the easiest to catch, because you get feedback almost immediately. The worst are the logic errors, which can persist for any amount of time. especially when the codebase is very complicated. Case in point: just today I had to fix someone's error that copied a field in the form (for a very formalized line of business) and it took me several hours of debugging step by step to find the place where it was changed (because there were so many places where data was modified). And then it occured that it was a deliberate condition to copy, but everyone forgot why it was there. Complexity is what keeps errors persisting.

As for methods to easily find mistakes: best practice is to write automatic tests, like unit testing, end-to-end testing etc. This almost becomes mandatory when working on big, complex projects, because manual testing just won't cut it after a certain point.

Another method is to consciously write clean code. I recommend  (Edit: my mistake, he published another book with a very similar title recently) https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Coder-Conduct-Professional-Programmers/dp/0137081073 https://www.amazon.com/dp/0132350882/ref=emc_b_5_i which is a great book which I think any serious programmer should read. Most of Uncle Bob's advice is language-independent and all of it is excellent.

Trying to do some voice acting work to create sound effects for my new Duke Nukem monsters. Nothing will quicker teach you that:

A - It is MUCH harder than it looks

B - when it comes to voice acting you are probably a no talent hack?

And given all I have to do is make some overacted creature grunts for a cheesy video game that doesn't take itself too seriously it is a video game journalist difficulty mode tier task as far as voice acting goes. And I still am struggling to make it not sound like total crap?
