After finishing Gotham, I've started watching Pennyworth. It's set in England and most if not all the actors are British, including the actor who plays Thomas Wayne.

 

The biggest giveaway I hear when British actors portray U.S. English speakers is adding the "r" sound at the end of a word that ends in a vowel and where the following word starts with a vowel. What he did was pronounce "Their agenda is" as "Their agender is." There are U.S. English dialects that do this, but not the one being used for Thomas Wayne.

Three new words I've learned from Pennyworth. "Sassenach," meaning "typically English," sometimes used by Irish and Scots as a derogatory term; "gallus," meaning "bold or daring;' and "dosser," meaning "an idle or lazy person." All very interesting to me.

So I hadn't realized that posting a topic doesn't mean that you'll be automatically notified of any future posts in the thread. I only know this because I was going over some of my old content to see if there was anything I'd be willing to update, only to find a few unanswered questions in one of the threads. Answering a question like that via PM only (and I know you did not make that specific request) does not allow the entire community to see the reply, a reply which might help others with the same question.
