Bound is smaller in scope than Scarface and Goodfellas. And it's not in their league. It has good acting, but not on par with Al Pacino, Robert DiNiro and Joe Pesci. I like it because, as I mentioned,  it's refreshingly free of the usual lesbian love story cliches.

 

On the tangent of good gangster movies, Once Upon a Time in America (the non-linear version; I've never seen the edited linear version, but by all accounts it sucks) is by far my favorite gangster movie.

Instead of, ya know, these companies not giving a shit about regular people and paying off politicians so that they can keep using their preferred pesticide instead of having to spend R&D funds on making a safer one? It's much more likely that the government wants to reduce the general population (because fuck tax revenue, I guess) by making people gay and effeminate with nonorganic produce. Let's also not forget that instead of criticizing political figures he doesn't like based on their words, actions, or policies, Jones instead prefers to say that they are literally evil demons that will destroy the world. I don't really care what happens to Alex Jones, I'm more curious what Global Tetrahedron LLC ends up doing with Info Wars. Probably something funny.

 

Changing the subject, with Thanksgiving coming up, I just realized that I don't really like turkey all that much. Why couldn't the pilgrims have used a tastier animal? Is it just that turkeys are kinda big and not as essential to a farm as a cow? Why not a pig? Thanksgiving pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and all the other usual shit would slap tbh.

What's on my mind? A buddy recently pointed out to me something about the show House, M.D. For those not familiar, Hugh Laurie plays a doctor who is essentially a version of Sherlock Holmes. His buddy, James Wilson, even has the same initials as Holmes' buddy John Watson. But what I never realized until my buddy pointed it out is that "Holmes" looks very much like "homes," is pronounced the same in many dialects, and "house" and "home" are to a large degree synonymous.
