Since we were talking about food and another user mentioned microplastics, (which are in our bloodstreams already as well as our Plants &  Animals) have you ever stopped to consider what is in the Water inside your Fruits and Vegetables since the biggest part of any Fruit or Vegetable is mostly Water, where does the Water come from, how is it treated, what is in it??

I used to drink bottled water till I started reading the labels, bottled in the Municipal water supply of X City, screw that, if I wanted to drink city water I would live in a city.

So many forever chemicals in those water systems, pharmaceuticals that have been flushed, chemicals from the streets that leach in.

No siree bob, not me!

Well it has been said that microplastics can be so small they can pass through the blood-brain barrier, so it stands to reason they can pass through the normal root system of plants thereby entering the fruit themselves. At what concentration? I don't have any idea, but drinking water out of a plastic bottle would seem to be more concentrated than a fruit/veggie.

As for the water being bottled, there is a difference between spring water and purified water, along with how the company filters that water in either case.

So long as I personally mitigate my exposure to those forever chemicals as much as I can, I don't stress about it too much. Undo stress also isn't good either. ;)

Not so fun fact, microplastics are so widespread that we cannot study their effects on people due to the lack of a control group (people not exposed to microplastics). 🫠

I guess now we will have more efficient weapons of war.....:skull:

Hyundai unveils world’s first hydrogen-powered, silent stealth battle tank.

South Korea's Hyundai subsidiary Rotem has just unveiled its vision for the future of main battle tanks for the Republic of Korea (ROK), hydrogen-powered powertrains.

The next version of ROK's K-series battle tanks, the K3, will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells and feature other advanced tech to become one of the world's most sophisticated tanks.

The new hydrogen-powered K3 has been developed in collaboration with Korea's Agency for Defense Development and other national technology research institutions. Once operational, the tank is hoped to enter production as soon as 2040, making it the world's first.

The hydrogen fuel cells will replace the K-series diesel engines. This will be done in steps, with the first prototypes featuring hybrid hydrogen and diesel engines. It is just the latest in a line of announcements from South Korea in its broader aim to transition its war machines away from combustion engines.   https://www.yahoo.com/news/hyundai-unveils-world-first-hydrogen-133204861.html

Fuck yeah, environmentally friendly war machines. 😀

On an unrelated note, I got to try Italian chocolate for the first time ever. It’s really good, but it’s completely ruined American chocolate for me. I ate a fun-sized 100 Grand bar, and that shit tasted like plastic by comparison.

Plastic chocolate…

Could this technically be a conspiracy theory?🤔

We could be living in a Simulation and all the food and drink are actually plastic, oil, with special seasonings of micro bots/chips just like the Movie.

I recently went on a trip overseas, which of course means that I watched a lot of onboard movies. Since I liked pretty much all of them, I decided to leave a list of mini reviews here for anyone interested. I’ll leave them under a spoiler since it’s kinda long, but check it out if you’re looking for some recommendations. Also, keep in mind that not every movie is a new one, some have been out for a while.

Spoiler

1917: Great cinematography. Not a ton of action, but the tension during those few moments were highly effective. The characters weren’t very memorable, but it really felt like I was watching moments from WW1. Makes me wish there was more media centered around the First World War.

M3GAN: I loved this movie. A good modern thriller/comedy that tackles themes of technology and its effects on child development, corporations taking advantage of people, and how we deal with tragedy. While it wasn’t very scary and the plot was a bit predictable, it was a fun movie and I enjoyed every actor’s performance.

Argo: Really interesting movie. The fact that this actually happened blows my mind, but I guess the saying “life is stranger than fiction” exists for a reason. What a terrible situation to be in, though. Based on the context, I can’t say I really blame the Iranians for wanting that dictator though. It just sucks that innocent people got caught in the crossfire.

Dune: Part 2: This movie was pretty cool. It feels like the first movie was made specifically to lead into Part 2, and it honestly really paid off. Part 1 is now better because of the sequel, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoyed this movie more than the first one. A third movie is supposed to come out in 2026, and I’m interested in seeing what happens. I also want to read the books now.

Everything Everywhere All at Once: This movie was a trip, and I loved every second of it. I remember seeing the trailers, but being unsure about it due to it being an A24 movie, which tend to be a toss up in my experience. I’m glad I gave it a chance though, because this was such a fun movie. It also has a great portrayal of depression and the sort of problems that can arise in Asian households (from an Asian household, can relate). It actually got me feeling kind of emotional, truth be told.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire: This movie was goofy as hell, but I liked it. This was like watching some kid play with their action figures. That said, it was one of the more fun Godzilla movies where you get to watch a bunch of monsters beat the crap out of each other. I’m not gonna say it’s the best Legendary Godzilla movie (King of Monsters holds that title), but it’s worth a watch if you want to watch something lighthearted and fun.

Monkey Man: This one was a bit of a mixed bag. I like a good action movie, and this had its moments. However, the fight scenes never really blew me away, and I wasn’t really a fan of the shaky camera style during the action sequences, though I get why they did it. I will say, the story is pretty compelling as a “man vs the world” type of thing, and it covers some interesting things currently happening in India’s current political climate.

I Saw the TV Glow: Another A24 film. This one was a trip. The whole movie is full of homages to 90s media and culture, from the way the scenes are shot, the main character speaking directly to the audience like a sitcom character, and even the inclusion of Fred Durst as a supporting character. The movie also does a great job of delving into the issues many trans people from that era went through (and possibly still do), as well as some more universal themes such as being unhappy with your place in life and being afraid of embracing your true self out of fear of upsetting other people. There’s also a ton of symbolism and narrative parallels throughout the movie, and I love it when films have that level detail in them. This wasn’t my favorite movie of the bunch, but I definitely thought about it the most after I watched it.
